One thing you didnt, mention, which is almost more of a doedicurus thing.. If you carry the doedic next to rocks, it will smash rocks automatically while still in the Argent claws. Fast way of collecting stone!

Something I like doing as a single player with these guys is getting the health to at least 1000 if not 2000. Getting the stamina to 1000, the weight to 1000, and melee to 500. I use leftover points according to what I feel like I need after that point, but I do this to make my argentavises somewhat multi purpose.
Tamed my first argie yesterday, and it's ALL your fault. :3 Had to wing it a bit when I couldn't place all the foundations of the 3x3, but the pillars came down nicely. 10/10, will tame again.

You’re advise work perfectly I was able to tame the argentavis 150lvl with prime meat and raw meat easily and the tame pen was genius it literally could get out at all so happy
just tamed one today with out any taming pen xD i just used an pelagornis to lure it near my base and grabbed some tranqs and knocked it . its low level but il get anathor one if i will need to . But ur guide still helped me! Thanks for the basics

i know it sounds dumb, but i like to tame a low lvl argy and then use it as a jeep, so up carry wheight (1200 to1300), a litle melee (400 to 500), and health (around 2000 or up should do) but it works for me, if you know what you do (and thats at lvl 1 to lvl 50)
I kind of like getting low level Dino’s 1 there easier to tame 2 You have more freedom to upgrade what you want the only bad thing is heeps of grinding

U built a way over complex trap for that bird pulse u can leave alot more space between the pillers and he still cant escape less cost to build and also alot easier to shoot the dino
I keep a bunch of low levels as freighters because of how great their carry weight is for a flyer. I mean, i have a battle chicken of course, but i love them as freighters. Got a whole caravan that won't get ganked on your way back to base
False, pteras are quicker and are used for different situations, but argents are more of tanks with high weight, health and stamina. Ptera with a good saddle and stamina: combat. Argent with a high weight, stamina, gathering resources.
the worst part about this is getting all the meterials to the location where you build the taiming cage without an argentavis. i just got a low lvl one without the cage and then used him to bring the materials in the north to buils my 2nd base and the taiming cage there.
C is coffee for a reason Why? When you look for the creature you want to find, it takes forever to find it and all tour meat or berries or whatever would probably be spoiled by then (unless it’s a creature that like spoiled meat)
Great helpful video as always. I think I'm ready to try for my first argent tame, even though still too low level to ride him yet. For me the best part of playing ark (soloing by choice) is to try such things to see if I can. I'm assuming too that you harvested everything to build while already up on the mountain, because your flyer would never lift that much stone.
Rather than go into a place where you have to set up on the ground and the big meateatasaurus hang out, I like to build a boat taming pen. 4x4 stone foundation with 2 dino gates and 2 x 3 high wall with ceilings attached. You can get by with 1 gate but I like to put a back gate so i can park the first one I capture inside the safety hut I build onto the side of the taming pin. This way I can get 2 or 3 before I have to leave. The reason I like doing this is carno isle. I go hang out there and let the island denizens take care of low level birds. The little island off to the north east side of the main island is a good place to hang out. Unless a tyrannosaurus spawns, you can hang out really close. Once you get the argent you want trapped up, move away from the island to keep adds from getting into the tame. Doing this, you can have an argent in your 40s, even with basic server settings. Only thing you have to watch out for is if an alpha megalodon is around. They will wreck your boat unless it's metal with metal foundations.
There is a place on the island on the west side of the map whare the shore meets the snowy parts where you can find tons of agents on the shores it is the best spot look for the big cone shaped stone peak when I go there i alwase get a level 150 easy
Of you guys think that level matters a lot I can sometimes but I got a level one and I already got him to 10,000 hp again depends on the argent you tame oh also if any of you play on Xbox is it normal to have inventory to glitch and the crafting menu to mess up but still definitely useable but it stay in glitch form or just non normal game glitches that you would not see on pc if so please let me know
They should give you an extra 10 dinos just because argents are so cool looking. I'm new to Ark and have finally gotten my hoard to the top of the redwoods, and now I'm camped out on the side of a mountain trying to collect cool looking argents and wishing that I had way more tame slots.
I’m confused on things, people always use traps to get dinosaurs while me and my brother get them by running away and narcing them, also we get our dinosaurs at a low level so it’s easier to get, then we put stats into it ourselves
also worth mentioning - argent saddle only works for crafting new items, cannot repair things. to me it makes it useless as i craft new stuff at smithy and need to repair on the go.
I found a max level 150 one and when I was trying to trap it, it for some reason went after the other argy that I tamed before I saw the 150, that lower level argy was tanking while I shot the level 150, after the 150 argy started running, the other got finished off by hyenas, but I did manage to shoot the 150 argy out of the sky and it’s currently being tamed with a bunch of prime meat

What if you went into the trap and just shoot the argy from the inside, and when itz unconscious you put a metal spike wall around it and just tame it like that?
nah, i believe someone from ark said that it was never meant to repair, would proly make it too OP .. i myself would rather if it does the opposite, cannot craft new, but can only repair
I may be four years late but I have to say that the argentavis is absolutely a dinosaur. It and all other birds are theropods just like the Rex and therizinosaurus and raptors you're completely correct in calling them dinos

This was 100% my fault because I got the spacing wrong, and used the wrong door, and it opened the wrong way- just everything that I could screw up, I fucked. This resulted in a 1hr long aerial battle where I had to maneuver it into someone's base and get it stuck. On the bright side, my very first demon eagle was a Lv150 purple.

I use 3 or 4 stone gates lined up and lure it in through the front and you take your pteranodon through a gap in the gates

the bow has the same torpor/damage ratio as the crossbow so you have the same chance of killing it.(2.8% for a 150)

I always use a scorpion and tranquilizer dart and focus on health and melee then shoot it with a tranq dart when it runs crossbow may kill it though

You can use a winch on it. That’s what the grappling hooks are for

I made a taming pen on the big golden rock mountain near the red woods. I got two argents but I'm not satisfied because they are low leveled.

Probably an argentavis; they’re a lot easier to tame. But if you have gillie armor, you can just sneak up and bola a tapejara
I actually compare argies to Toyota. Reliable, versatile, and long lasting. These big birbs are many new and veteran survivors best friend

What is the best method for killing large Dinos like Spinosaurus and Rex? Are u able to fly above their heads and attack without being hit?
MMB 1986 if your fast enough. I killed many spinos and rexes just by using my pteranodon.
How does he have armor from Scorched Earth on The Island?
