Finally! Some awesome relatively-recent ark videos! I swear it seems like all the ark videos I’ve seen were made in either 2015 or 2016.
The first thing me and my brother encountered when we started playing ark in co-op single player was a baryonyx. At the time, I had no idea what a baryonyx was or what it was capable of. So, when we went to go tame it, i told my brother to follow it into the water and flush it out onto land so it wouldn’t drown while we tamed it...
It went about as bad as you thought it would go.
On the bright side, while the baryonyx was busy stun-locking/eating my brother, I had just enough time to escape into our tiny thatch hut. It was a win win!

Note for 2020: kibble mechanics changed since this was created, eliminating the egg-specific brands (like the pachyrhino kibble mentioned in the video) in favor of a 6-tier quality system. Baryonyx now prefers 'regular kibble' or higher.

I'm still in mourning after taking a lv10, called Barry to lv95 and then missing a jump in the lava cave, RIP Barry! His lineage lives in in Barry Jr though 😅 Best mount just for doing everything, love these guys!
Nick Spencer I had one that just died and it was a level 25 and I got it yesterday and it just died to jellyfish so I’m watching this so I can find a Beatrice 2.0

If you’re watching this in 2020-2021 remember their drag weight was increased To 2.1 it can’t be bolaed or picked up by the argy

I'm finding I prefer the baryonyx to the thylacoleo on the Island and Valquero, where there is lots of water. Thylas on Scorched and Ragnarok. Bred, imprinted barrys are pure awesome.

If you need to find Baryonyxes just keep in mind anywhere spinos spawn barys also spawn
Edit: also when kiting them to a trap be aware that they are extremely fast and require over 170% movement speed to outrun.
Find them in swamps
Apacolypse/Ark Gamer I know they spawn in swamps but I was just giving advice on where to find them outside swamps since phlinger says that they spawn in swamps on the video.
Dededab God you can also find them near the redwoods and proven baryonix’s actually are natural enemy’s towards the spinos.

The Baryonyx is hands down better than a Sarco other than water movement speed as there is a big difference. But since you get the Sarco saddle at an earlier level, I recommend that to be the first mount to transition to the water. Pretty good for getting around the Island shore areas and to herbivore and carno island where a raft feels like it takes ages.
On my current play-through I have both, but since I haven't unlocked scuba gear I like that the Sarco can dive quicker so I can quickly grab pearls that are deeper and get me down to quickly mine oil rocks. Then I can come back up quicker before my oxygen depletes. Also good because it won't float up as well if you dismount just like the Baryonyx. My only true gripe with it is it's turning radius and it is harder to hit smaller targets in the water. I had to do multiple passes to to kill and harvest some trilobites on him.
Sarcos are very fast in the water, sometimes it can be difficult to control them

Sarco has more attack that bary. The bary was my first carni tame but i haven't touched it since i got my alpha killer

@@HeraclesGamed i had before my island thing got accidentally deleted and i had a baryonyx that was level 301 and he killed moas's,brontos,rexes,spinos,therizeinosaurs,alpha's, basically anything you could think of except bosses because i hadn't gotten there yet and i would ride him everywhere i even killed a alpha rex that was about level 45 to 80 i think cant remember

Geez Louise! I built a taming pen close to the swamp, looked for Barys then when I finally found one it wouldn’t come out of the water for literally 40 minutes. Then for the next two days I attempted picking them up. I have only just discovered we can no longer pick them up with Argents. Sheesh!
When you think about it, the forest Titan is basically a big horribly mutated chia pet.

Can you really use ordinary bolas? Or is it chain bola?
@@bonniestevens8272 Yes you can use normal bolas, Just remember they are dangerous in water and can run fast and jump
Baryonyx!! Agree totally on staying away from cynidria! That was what got my best Baryonyx, Barry killed. Hate the cynidria now! Great video!

I was trying to get some prime fish meat when it literally came from nowhere, i was on the starting beach. Thank god for bolas and tranq arrows.

I always find one near south zone one, ya know, the spawn in that Footpaw, you might have to head over to that beach area beside a swamp, just be careful for a Spino, they are just about the only threat, apart from the swamp. I almost never go there, as I never find them there, unless I see them walk in. Happy taming!
Spent 2 hours finding a decent level one. See a 120. I'm like perfect. Clear the sarcos that were near to be safe. Feels safe. Get off argy and make a 2x2, dire bear comes and stuns me, argy on passive so it didn't kill the bary. Die. Last save was forever ago. Make the long trek all the way back. Every other dino is there but the bary.

I finally got baryonyx and I’m new to the game. I love it I can go under the sea but I need some scuba gear to stay long underwater. Your video is very informative and funny👍

This guy just spawned near my base and I thought it was cool to tame him,then I just climbed on the huge rock and tamed him.
I got a level one that basically came to my base and then I sort of just hit it with a crossbow and it went down, it's now level 45 really good dino

The Baryonyx is the best dino hands down. Good on land great in water. On the island this creature fits in 7 out of 10 caves. The only down side is it only eats fIsh. Good video
I have 4 main mounts the thyla for land, argent for air, bary for most underwater and basilo for jellyfish
Hey, I really love your video. Especially these that show a good way to tame and what tge Dino can do. I am having an issue with hatching and imprinting dinos. I am wondering do you have any videos on this?

I was by the swamp today with my trike, and a crocodile jumped at me leaving me to do nothing and die!
When I died it said I died to not a sarco but a kapro something...
Can someone help me get my trike back from that swamp cuz that thing was dangerous.

Hey so I have a few of these guys and I have a question. So a friend and I were on my server on a raft when an alpha Leedsichthys spawned right on top of us. Luckily it only got 1 hit on the raft and we got to shore but could we stun lock it with a few baryonx? Can't really take our raft through half of the map because of it because it's really close to shore
If flying is allowed in caves, the best mount for the Upper South Cave on The Island is definitely the Argentavis, hands down. You can fly past everything and fly into passage to the artifact. If you want to get the loot inside the cave, the best thing is still to fly in with the argentavis and maybe carry a Baryonyx into the cave to the water parts. I have died countless of times down there at earlier levels until I realized that.
Ayy level 6 baronyx meh got by shooting reg tranq darts from a rock, also started yesterday
If it's low level you can knock them out in one bola and and their torpor drains slowly. So they are piss easy to tame. Just finding them, aggroing them and bolaing them vefore they bite you is the "hard" part. I level with them because they are multi talent mounts.

What do you need to pump into the stats for a low level baryonyx
baryonyx also heals 2.5% of there health for every single fish they harvest thats mean if ur baryonyx low health just go to any water that have fish in it and harvest couple of fish and you will instant heal the baryonyx to full like again ^^

Noob here. How do you get the biotoxin for the darts if you dont have a baryonyx yet to tame a basi?
i got one at low level and i dont really know where they spawn on mobile, but it spawned near my house, it was only level 3 though :( but it tamed really fast. I probably didnt need to feed it narcotics
I spent 3 weeks trying to get a high level bary then one day out of the blue she just ran up my ramp and into my trap cause I was standing up there tranqing a pair of allosuarus I had just trapped so I tamed her too she was lvl 200 lol so I tamed 2 allo's and a bary all at the same time it was a good day
I tamed a pink one. And since bary is short for baryonyx, I named it Ya like Jazzz
And could you do a Tapejara guide because I've been struggling with them.
have you tried rare flowers to make them attack you so you can more easily bola them or trap them?
Rare flowers a bola and a bow and tranq arrows is all you need
I usually just build a stone box, fully enclosed, 1 dino gate, so big enough to square off using the gate as 1 side, then eat a rare flower while riding an argy or even a pteranadon, get the tappy chasing into the box, close the door, when the flower wears off the tappy loses aggro, but now its contained, so tranq away as needed

My barry has a weird glitch. They don’t have an oxygen stat, but they do have a meter. Mines meter slowly started to go down, not fast, but still down. Then it ran out, so now he’s “suffocating”. He’s fine, health isn’t going down, but the suffocating indicator is there, mocking me.
Would you put a baryonyx against the genesis ocean boss?
How should you level them up
i got one using my Beelzebufo, shot it with my crossbow while it charged at me and jumped over it last second.

I used to have a Baryonix named Baryonix Allen, and I went almost threw entire game with him, then my friend one day messed up while flying and dropped him. Into the forest. And he died to 3 raptors. I can confirm that the Baryonix is a BEAST and is by far one of the best dinosaur's.

Phlinger, how much melee, health, and stamina per every 5 levels do you recommend?
All on stamina and speed until lv50 then everything on health, melee and oxygen

I tamed mine when I was level 13 i think, with only a bola and a wooden club, in open space, in south spawn point 1 ;-;

Hey Phlinger! It's time for Broodmother and need your help. My fifteen rexes are at 50k health with 350 asc. saddles, my yut is 60k also 340 asc saddle, (you can't imagine the resources for those saddles ugh!) What should my 4 Allos health and Melee be at? and yes 350 plus asc for them too. I'm just unsure what their stats should be. Sorry to hijack Barry thread.

wanted to add to what you said. currently you can force feed raw red meat to heal Baryonyx.

also, is there any way to get the suffocating icon off of a baryonyx? some how my Baryonyx lost all it's imaginary oxygen, and how has a permanent suffocating lung icon on it when I ride her
Maybe that was yours and it just glitched
@@kotarojujo9549 yeah, I found out, when Sabertooth salmon hit your Baryonyx, it takes oxygen damage, when that icon reaches the bottom, it shows it suffocating, but since Baryonyx don't have an oxygen stat, it's fine, just a glitch in the icons. Apparently wild card knows, but since it really don't affect game play that haven't fixed it.
Okay so there is a problem. There is a baryonyx AND a spino very close to my base and im a very low level.
I tamed mine out in the open, no taming pen or bolas needed, all i used was myself, a primitive bow, and sone trank arrows, and now its my best bud
Mostly a great video, and I definitely liked it, but you left out the 3rd attack option. The one that they can only do on land (on xbox, click the right joystick).
That's actually what I'm researching right now, and trying to find out what that attack is, because it doesn't seem to do anything other than Barry just opening his mouth a few times as if he's talking to his opponent.
Maybe he's saying, "hey don't make me eat you, I'm a strict pescatarian."
I just started playing ark, so I don't know anything. Before I found this video, I got jumped by a Sarco, so I got it stuck and tamed it, then used it to face tank a Baryonyx, tamed that, then I found Phlinger's videos, so most of these animals I have tamed, but I still have that Sarco, and Baryonyx
Wow, that was a lucky start with that Sarco getting stuck so you could use it on everything else!

I just named my first baryonyx tame: Phlinger.
Just go to East zone 1 and use a bola and club to tame a bunch of level 4s so you can be op at low levels y'all welcome also get kapros they help alot in home defense
Since I was in easy and single player mode I tamed one when I was lvl 23 and just knocked it out and tamed it I didn't know about taming pens and stuff cuz Im still a newbie
Taming pens definitely aren't necessary, I've never used one at almost 2k hours.
This question is not connected to to vid but i started to go for an op and color mutated barionyx what is the chance of a color mutation (Mobile if diffrent ratios) amd now the video connevted story is a lost 3 barionyxies in the lava cave by jump😂 and 1 by a bug😥
baryonyx seem to have a much lower chance of getting mutations than most other dinos. I've never been lucky with mutations on them.

I use a kaprosuchus Lvl. 151 for the caves but it's kinda dangerous so I'll go with a baryonyx

I don't have an iPhone 6s yet until Christmas but when I do get it I'm buying God console and taming it at low level 😏.
I started a game and a baryonyx was very close to my spawn whenever it got close to me when I was on the beach it just attacked me and I wasn’t even lvl 10
Best place to find baryonix is in the bog biome in génesis they are everywere And high levels. i tamed 3 one was a 120 the other 2 were 149 male and female i tamed them And brought them to the island
I thought you used a taming pen for the Mosa from Soloing the Ark?

Yeah, I found out how dangerous it is to run into one of these guys in the water. I'm still relatively new at the game and had finally leveled up a parasaur to about level 35, which the highest I had gotten a dino to so far. And then was unfortunate enough to run into a baryonix in the middle of a lake, at night, while riding my parasaur... and bye-bye parasaur and bye-bye me. 😫

I know a single Baryonyx killed me and 3 raptors. However we were stuck in water and I could only use my crossbow and not my guns... I dont think Raptors do well in water either

My guide to Baryonix:
press TAB -> admin cheat Baryonyx_Character_BP_C -> Press ENTER -> Press TAB again -> forcetame (do not point your aim cursor at the baryonix, instead turn your back to it when typing the command)
