Terror birds are stronger versions of raptors and are more annoying.

Terror Bird is one of my all time top 5 favorite mounts. Fast, mediumish tank, good damage. Plus nothing makes me smile more than jumping off a ledge with a T-Bird and hearing Ride of Valkyrie play. DEATH COMES ON STUBBY LITTLE WINGS!! lol
Lol, I died to terror birds like 4 times yesterday and was thinking just this morning, “Man, I wish Phlinger would cover terror birds..” 🙌🏻
I just knocked out a lvl 97 terrorbird with a leveled crossbow and arrows. It took about 15 shots with 180%dmg they don't look bad, like a dodo and a raptor had a baby
I still prefer to face Terror Birds than Raptors...except when the Terror Birds team up with a Microraptor...my most hated creature in Ark

Before I tamed one, I got rekt by five or more of them

4:15 The tranq darts aren't ruined, per se, if converted to shocking tranq darts. When the shocking darts spoil, the decay product is the original tranq dart. You get your dart back, but you do lose the metal that went into crafting the upgraded version.
On an unrelated note, the pillar "nubs" that love to stick out above a ceiling/floor can be completely avoided thusly: place your first pillar into the ceiling tile such that it is centered vertically - half of the pillar is above the ceiling tile and half is below. When snapping the next pillar into the bottom of the first pillar is the crucial moment to prevent nubs. This second pillar will always have 2 snap points. One will be ever so slightly lower than the other. To leave a nub, place the pillar at the higher snap point. To prevent the nub, place the pillar at the lower snap point. Continue placing pillars down until they connect to solid ground. Return to the original pillar and demolish it, allowing the nub (or lack thereof) to proudly display. Hope that helps.

I took my best eques out and knocked all the terror birds out. i tamed all three and named them easy
Since I can’t cover my terror birds whole ears, I had to pause the game in order to watch this
I love Terror birds, hate dealing with them but love having them. I honestly want them to have a TLC update, they don't need any under the hood changes beside a side ability like the raptor pack, but not a pack bonus though, but they need a new look. Ditch the Turkey neck, bring the beaks down a little in size.
Also a sound redesign, they are loud and annoying.
Very much agree, though rather than make anything smaller, they should just make the terror bird taller. Right now, its modeled after one of the smaller species, the larger ones could get up to 8-9ft if I recall.
That way it'd not only look much better proportionally, players would finally get the terror bird most people imagine when they think of the giant carnivorous birds.
@@ZombieBarioth as for the ability me and a friend were discussing some Ideas and he came up with and idea that I springboarded off of. He said what if they had a sense ability like the Parasaur and from that I suggested a hunt sense, in the context wheel you could set the size of a search target, extra small, small, medium, large and huge. When ever you ping it would highlight whatever creatures fit that size ranking, maybe in a bright green/yellow.

I did almost all my early caving on a Terror bird. Just because it's amazingly forgiving of missed jumps with that glide ability. *Disclaimer* Unless you are above lava and cannot find a safe landing spot to glide to. In that case you crunchy fried battle chicken.

There is a trick to reset the shocking tranq dart spoil time (yes, they spoil). Load one in your rifle, store the spare darts anywhere (take them out of your inventory), then unload the rifle and you'll have a fresh shock dart. Now put back the other darts back into your inventory and ta-da!!! Hope it helps.

You really don't need that much equipment to tame one of these. Just bring some bolas and you'll be fine.

Hey im new to ark and cant watch this rn is there a reliable place to get them? Preferably near the easy spawns i play on console and play with some friends on a non dedicated server so cant really go far due to host tethering
On the island? The easiest place to find them is the outer edges of the redwoods, right on the shores. Bears and carnos are also pretty common there too though, though the former won't aggro unless you get super close.

These guys are easy to kill, but are really annoying; especially when you're trying to taming dinos, they just run out of nowhere and kill them.

Couple years later and kortez is right there still hellish tho I found one chilling at the beach accross herbivore island (lvl 30 and it never ran. At me even once it just walked after me menacingly everywhere)

Is this wrong button thing a joke. It's getting annoying. Last video I watched i stopped counting at about 40. It was only a 27 minute video. he hit the wrong button once every 30 seconds cause again I stopped counting. Of course I didn't count the intro or the outro anyway dude you been playing this game for years and still can't get the button right
