Phlinger! It’s story time! I was out on my own in the snow. Had a near death experience ran out there to get some stone, and I found my self stuck face to face with a pack of wolves. Thought I was dead. Not knowing my tribe mate had one of our tamed wolves on patrol of the base. He jumped over our gate off the top of a rock, and cleared the gate. My tribe mates on,y saw this bc his name plate was running crazy. So, they looked and saw him clear it. He then sprinted across a lot of land and to the river and crossed it. He came flying across and saved my ass. I was very lucky. Nad I never went into the snow alone again. Another story! My tribe mate had left to get some crystal not far from base. Got attacked by wolves. I went over bc he was screaming to me in chat. So I panikced and went flying over carrying a wolf with my argy.i was unable to locate my tribe mate, so I dropped to wolf and told him neutral. He raced down the cliff side and straight onto a pack f wolves. We live at the bottom of the volcano btw. And he was able to safely wait to get to a safe point so I could grab him with the argy. I got my tribe mate to safe ground and got my wolf later on. Both near death experiences. Never go somewhere that u don’t know what could happen, or if u get hurt. Have a great day
I always tame one at a time (cuz I'm SUPER cautious that way) what I did to get my pack was tame a male and female, then I just bred them and made my pack that way, now I have a per crap ton of high lvl dire wolves that just wreck everything lol
I don't know if the direwolf had the ability when you made this vid, but you didn't mention their super jump. It doesn't work so much on uphill terrain, but level or downhill, using the jump key gives not only a jump, but a speed boost while in the air. The effect is similar to how a pteranodon speeds up when you barrel roll. It makes an already fast mount even faster and great for escaping or chasing something down.
I have my old world taming pen here, sadly i lost my first argent to a giga. I was so sad i restarted ark. Now im following your soloing the ark series :) thnx phlinger!

I also used bolas and my rifle and luckily there were a lot of carnos around for prime meat ❤❤ love them wolves and I am excited to breed them and form my own pack out of these two
Hi Phlinger. I hope you see this comment. I was heading to your Ark Basics (Coffee?) video on the Ichthyornis to refresh my memory and it is not in the Ark Basics Playlist. I checked twice. I did find it under the videos section at the top of the page between Stegosuarus and Raptor quite easily. Thought you might want to know so you can add it in. Still loving the Basics series as well as STA and Nomads ... and JP with Cheese. Do you intend to do any more on the Crystal Isles playthrough? (I cannot locate a playlist for CI at all).
Late in the game finally tamed a nice breeding couple and started breeding up a pack. Got blessed and the first girl born had all the best stats and an amazing red body mutation tho the stat was food or torpor I think. But my pack of 5 is fully imprinted and I made sure there are 2 males and 3 females for mate boosts plus all the pack bonuses and the imprint bonus. I ride that first girl and named her Alpha. The pack has 10k health and 1000+mlee. They literally just make Dinos disappear before my very eyes 😆 Love my kill pack dearly now, should've made them sooner.
That sounds awesome man. Im gonan start playing soon too I only played on mobile before and so I'm excited to have a pack of wolves! The furthest I got was camping on a Trike everywhere too scared to get off lol

How do I make a pack 6 all howl? I notice only 3 others will howl after the alpha howls, and the other 2 dont which means they dont get the buffs. Sorry im an ark noob lol
I know this is late but I hate when people don't answer easy questions like this, so here. I'm sure you've figured it out since you originally asked but yes, dire wolves REALLY really want to eat your face and tender bits, whereas heyenadons sort of don't know what they want. They nibble and then run away and if you kill one or two of their pack most of the time the rest run away like complete pansies. Dire wolves are much more dangerous (usually) in the wild than hyenadons.

Megaloceros and castoroides drop pelt. Megaloceros spawn in redwoods, and castoroides spawn in the south zones. They look like beavers.

Sabertooth gets armor from the saddle, but does less damage. it's kind of a trade up.
