Way back in the long-ago days of Pokemon gen 2, you couldn't go ten feet across the play yard at my school without seeing someone happily tapping away at their Game Boy, and many of them would take a few minutes to haggle over trades or face off in battle with each other. One day, it just so happened that one dumb kid with a copy of Silver hadn't been watching the clock and had just started a gym battle seconds before the bell rang to signal the end of recess; he hadn't saved the game since turning it on, so he stubbornly clung to his machine for the next ten minutes, alternating between trying to finish the fight and arguing with teachers that he needed to finish the fight before he went inside. Fast forward to next morning, when it's announced that Game Boys would be banned from the school starting the following week. It was a relatively small school and more than one other student had seen the opening volleys of that argument on their way in, so word spread quickly as to who was responsible for the sudden change; I got stink-eye every day for the next couple of months.

The thing is, I feel like some of these are just from women who have had their hearts broken and are still bitter about it. Which I mean fair, but just dont go around calling every guy a man child. People are different, thats what makes us individuals. While I do agree there are many people out there who need to grow up, you dont see people saying the phrase "Woman child". Everyone has a story and slapping labels on people just doesnt seem right in 2024. People who do so also need to grow up.

When I was on the prince's trust, it was a program set up by Prince charles to help people get back into work. The idea is you had 3 months in the building, getting confidence and opening up about things, then 3 months in a work environment it was classed as voluntary, but it was to get you the experience. You got to pick what you wanted to do. This one man chose bin man (trash collectors). Anyway, he only showed up the first day and was rude and dismissive. So when a man on my team asked if he could try being a bin man, he was told about the first man and the team leader said the chance of us getting someone else into that line of work would be difficult. So one dude ruined anyone else's chances.

I didn't really attend any church service like ever, but I did except it as a fact of life. And then I got more and more into science and I began to ask questions, and that made me a bad person, and also when I had a suicide streak, the religious figure in my family didn't do shit despite what they said they would. Oh and can't forget the politics, I despise how religion dominates so much of politics, and how it inspires so many terrorists. In truth, I hate all religion because of how much damage religion does nowadays.

The problem with the climate change theories are just that theories. Glaciers are known to advance and retreat. Now they maybe retreating today in a year they can be advancing. Nature has the power to heal itself and if we really want to help it we need to get rid of light pollution because light pollution keeps the ozone layer from regenerating. The lies we are told like this year the news said we had the hottest day to record which is insane because it was only 80 something degrees Fahrenheit that day where I live which for this year it’s been a pretty tame summer.

The whole "E-flashing" thing isn't a new thing. People have been perverts since the dawn of time, social media's just given us a new way to be creepy, and no, not every woman has had experiences with being sent unsolicited dick pics. I'm all for laws against unsolicited dick pics etc, but let's not pretend that this is some unprecedented wave of misogyny and degeneracy that's sweeping across society.

My manager told me about this since I didn't work there when this happened. I work at a consignment store where you can get some really good quality secondhand items for a fraction of the retail price. After 60 days, the item goes to 50% off, 80% after 90 and 90% after 120 days. I once bought a really cute tanktop for only 70¢. Twice a year we have a two day half off sale where everything is half off, unless they're already 80-90% off. The night before, they close the store early and all the employees get to shop for an hour. We're allowed to bring a plus one, but they emphasize that it's only one person. No more. Well one year, an employee brought all four of her young children and didn't bother keeping an eye on them. Just let them run loose like the store is a playground while she shopped. The second time they did it that year, they didn't allow the option of bringing a plus one. Because of her. Fortunately they brought the rule back once she left, but goddamn, girl.

My Mom didn't work a lot of hours when I was little so she filled that time with volunteering at my Elementary School. I didn't mind it because she was always in the office and rarely ever showed up at my class. If she did, she would just wave a little before continuing on her way. One thing she always did was Field Trips. The teachers loved this because it meant another set of eyes on the students. The kids loved her because, if they ever needed something, they just had to go to my Mom and she would help them. Sure she always sat next to me during the trips but I didn't really see a problem with it. One day, we went to a Bread Factory. So of course my Mom came with us. I was in the front of the line for most of the trip and my Mom was by my side. The trip was really fun and we learned a lot. However, a few days later, my Mom got called into the office for some reason. Then she was told that a young girl claimed that my Mom shoved her during the trip and her friend was backing her up. Now, my Mom would never shove a child. Bump into them on accident sure, she's done that a few times. But never actually shove them. Thankfully, due to my Mom's good standing with the school, they actually didn't believe the girl and just wanted to get my Mom's side of the story. The school quickly learned that the girl had been in the back of the line for most of the trip while my Mom had been up front with me. Not too long after, the girl confessed that she made it all up because she was upset that her Mom couldn't come on Field Trips, I learned later that all parents actually had the option to do so. She had convinced her friend to lie to the school and make it seem like my Mom was at fault. Even though the whole thing got sorted out, they asked my Mom to stop going on Field Trips to keep something like this from happening again.

When that proved to be utter bs they then switched to global warming and when they couldn't really prove that it is now just climate change. Cry wolf often enough and no one believes the lie anymore

The first thing i can think of after reading this is my graduation trip 🎓 We collected money for the trip all year only for the class president to suddenly waste it all for a trip with his girlfriend (which was also part of the class) In the end after both returned we got them and the vicepresident put him in a big trash can on the street right in front of the school, to help your imagination think of those cages animals like dogs are put into in pet stores and that's how those trash can look like Also i was the vicepresident And i ENJOYED every second of it 😂

about the student loans one: No, it is not on you that you ruined your life with student loans to have decent education. I live in canada and going to school costs 200$-3000$ a year. Schooling should not be a burden you carry onto your 40's. It is your government doing a lousy shitty job, its your government that wants to keep the poor poor and uneducated. Its your government who gives advantages to the white upper class.

If it wasn't a huge corporate place, I would have let the people continue to make abominations of cups of frozen yogurt, however I would ask them to perform questionable tasks without spilling them. If they spilled it, they had to clean up the mess and they lost out on their free cup. That seems like a decent enough equalizer, if you stack it that high you have to hold it upside down for 5 seconds like dairy Queen blizzards.

I have one. The retail industry does not give a s*** about customers. You are not a valued customer. Your call is not important to the retail company. They do not value your custom. They just about tolerate human customers, and want rid them as quickly as possible.

I'm old enough to remember being taught in elementary school that the Earth's Ice Caps would melt completely by 2015, and we would be flooded with water. My textbooks said this. But here we are in 2024. My flood apocalypse never happened. I am disappointed.

Story 3: Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

My highschool used to have a month long exchange program with the US for 11th year students with a Chicago highschool. Everyone was always so excited every year when March came because having the foreign students was a blast, and the lucky ones who got to go to Chicago always came back with amazing stories and videos/photos Then my year got to 11th and... Nothing. We weren't told anything about the trip at all, and then didn't even explain why there wasn't an exchange when the school year was over. We were pretty bummed out but oh well. Then I had to repeat the year, and got excited when a month into the school year we were told about the exchange to... San Diego? Okay, maybe the Chicago highschool couldn't do exchange for some reason, oh well The system for being elected to go was by average English grades, a talk with our homeroom and English teachers and an interview with the English teacher who organized everything. That year, it was a different teacher organizing everything, for some reason we were never told, and she singlehandedly ruined everything by choosing 45/60 students from her class for the trip ("because I knew for a fact their english level" in her words, which is stupid because then why did you talk to us and our teachers??) and changing the dates of the exchange by a month, which meant the lucky ones who got to go missed some very important exams On top of everything, there was no exchange the year afterwards, or any other year since from what I heard. Her excuse? "It's too tiring and stressful" when she could had just... Delegated it to other English teacher, since all of them loved the exchange and always did their best to help and participate... What a way to ruin something
