Story 2: Baristas is the proper job title for anyone who specializes in mixing non-alcoholic beverages. Kinda like how a bartender mixes cocktails, a barista mixes coffee, Italian sodas, tea, and other beverages. Anyone who thinks working as a barista is an easy job couldn't handle it especially during a rush.

True! But unlike bartender, the term 'barista' sounds pretentious and self-important to a lot of people. If they called the position something like drinktender or mixtender I think people would generally be a lot more receptive to it.
It also doesn't help that in America many associate baristas not with coffee in general, but with Starbucks and their snooty faux-italian branding. That kind of soured the term as a whole in the public consciousness.

@@tridek1949 it's dumb that people think it's pretentious, it's literally just a job title.
Like, seriously, do you (not you in person, just the general public you) also get mad at chefs because there are chefs that work at the numerous sh***y pretentious restaurants out there? No, because it's just a general title for a job that requires a particular skill set. Baristas are no different.

That's an easy one: people seem to believe they are better than other people. Because of this, they believe that people's kindnesses are a given, and they don't need to follow the same societal rules as us lowly peasants. Honestly, people these days are so selfish and entitled, it disgusts me.

Like when people say kids today are idiots because of all the dumb stuff they record themselves doing8gnoring the fact that all kids throughout history(ignoring those few mature kids) have always been idiots such as my father who as a kid with hes through real darts (not those plastic tipped ones) at eachother for fun

@@kingthe13 It's not a recent thing, but the entitlement has risen up to 11 recently, and that's more what I'm referring to. I don't know if it's because of changes in politics, societal values, or because people feel invincible due to the number of worthless followers they have on social media (which seems to have risen significantly over the past few years btw). Either way you look at it: the problem is getting worse.

Oh, I have a good one!
I work in a pet shop that has a big goldfish and tropical fish range. Our store policy is that goldfish can’t go into a tank smaller than 30
litres and all tanks need filter pumps (this will be important later).
One day, a very pretty lady walks in and asks me about the goldfish. I begin asking what size tank she has or if she needed help picking a tank as she’d need a big one with a filter pump. She then tells me she didn’t need a tank or filter pumps as she was going to have them displayed on the guest’s tables at her wedding reception. Not only that but they would be kept in these tiny glass bowls which were way too small for even the smallest goldfish we had.
I tried to explain and reexplain why I and the shop policy wouldn’t do that as these were living creatures, not props and she’d kill all 45 goldfish by doing that (it could have been more fish she wanted but she was trying to haggle down the numbers when again I explained she couldn’t do that).
She then asks me, after what felt like hours rather than 20 or so minutes,
“Well, how about I just rent the fish for the wedding and give them back?”
I will admit I did snap a little and said “Absolutely not” before calling the manager over the radio. My manager (more politely) told her the same thing and we suggested she get those robot fish toys instead.
She didn’t swear at us but she wasn’t happy and stormed out the shop.
Never saw her again. When I do think about her, I pray for whoever the poor fool was who married her.

went into a 7-11 to grab some snacks for the road, and there was an guy standing in the open area pulling something from his nose (hair or snot I'd assume?), examining it and throwing it on the ground ...with his bare fingers ... in full view of me. So I thought "what a rude person" - but whatever. Then, to my horror, he walked in behind the counter (I'd assumed he was just another customer) and, without washing his hands, he reaches for the stuff I placed on the counter to scan it. I pulled them away and mentioned I'd just watched him picking his nose, not wash his hands, and asked him not to handle this stuff. He looked at me as if "so what" and said "Sir if you don't like it find somewhere else". I repeated "so you're telling me you just picked your nose, in FRONT of a CUSTOMER, and you're not going to wash your hands?"
He repeated "if you don't like it find somewhere else" and grabbed my stuff and started scanning. So I said "ok. I DON'T like it, so I will 'find somewhere else' "
I left a stinking Google review of the place and emailed 7-11 HQ Canada. I haven't bought gas or anything else there since then.
What a disgusting creep ... and did he learn nothing from COVID?

I'll tell you what's wrong with people - they are so self absorbed that they think the world revolves around them. And then they get upset when something goes wrong or someone says something they don't like.
Like the people that stop in the middle of an isle at the store and ignore the person saying excuse me - louder and louder.
Or the people that take one or two steps through a door and stop. Their phone is way more important than anyone else trying to go through the door. And then they get offended when you have to push pass them because they ignored you saying excuse me or tapping them on the shoulder.

I once was running for the bus, these two dimwits were taking up the whole sidewalk walking the other way, somehow didn't notice the overweight 6'2" guy running towards them, I brushed past them as little as possible still rushing. Bus driver spotted me and stopped and waited, I push harder to not make him wait longer than necessary, then I got knocked to the ground. Morons must have had inflated egos and took offence to my having to force my way past them. They were all laughing down at me like they assumed I was scared despite the rage on my face, until I got up and I could see they realized their mistake. Took too long to actually realize they should be running so I caught one by the back of his collar. However, I'm not a violent guy, this was my first (and only) assault, so I couldn't think of what to do to them to teach them a lesson, LOL! Bus driver broke it up and got me on the bus.

Sliced cold cuts… In my area they ALWAYS ask. But since we’re used to it, it’s not a big deal. Nothing is presliced. You have to order it by weight and number for thickness. Luckily, for those who may not know, there’s signs showing the number and the thickness. 1-10. If a person doesn’t understand, the deli worker will point to the sign. In some places you can even ask for a sample cut. i.e: “Shave me a Black Forest ham in 3.” My boyfriend know the corresponding measurements so he orders by that. “I‘lol take half a pound of mortadella sliced 1/8th.”

Depending on where you live, the buses have seats that are meant to be specifically for pregnant or disabled people. People still won't give up those seats.
It is hard enough to stand up and walk much when pregnant - it's worse to try and balance on a moving bus.
There is nothing about the story that indicates that the pregnant woman felt like she was owed anything. The guy was being nice and teaching the kids manners - something that their mother obviously didn't do.
