My ex started a fight (he picked fights often) over a kayak...that we weren't even going to use. It was a hypothetical question "if we were to go kayaking would you want to get a double or singles" i said "single" because as a kid my dad would never let me kayak in a single and always wanted to. Well that was the wrong answer. He started the argument and wouldnt let me end the convo or even walk away until I agreed to a double. Seeing his stupid smug face afterwards was when i thought "this is going to be rest if my life" broke up a week later.
Instead of going off to see his sick family, he stays because his gf had an invitation to use a legal substance and he wanted to chew her out. Not even plans made, mind you. An invitation to do so that she hadn't seen and mightn't have accepted. I have to believe bro just wanted out because this feels... overcompensating. Especially the comment about the dog.

Marijuana can affect and hurt animals. It's not super common for it to cause them harm but also it's his dog and his decision-- I moreso can't get over the fact he dumped her before she even confirmed the plans with her friend. Like it sounds like he just saw the text proposing they should smoke and immediately assumed his gf would agree to it and not ask him. Dudes wild 😂

Did it with my pitbull once and it made her violently sick 😭 I had to take her to the vet and they talked to me for a while about the risks. Just as a rule I've decided not to risk it anymore, especially since our animals can't communicate with us explicitly and I just don't want to be causing them discomfort. While it can appear as though your pets are getting comfortable and enjoying it, they may be experiencing heart palpitations and anxiety. I'm not super judgemental of people who do it because it's also been super normalized and on a large scale doesn't seem to be causing any mass animal harm. It's typically pretty harmless. I just personally couldn't do it with my pets again.

MJ being a gate way to harder things and next thing you know your dog convinces you to snort a line with them at a party and it’s all down hill from there. He was always so grumpy, but I had worked my way under his grump and found that he was actually a really kind and caring person; really friendly too. We got some new workers once and he took a liking to the girl: she was skinny and looked frail as hell, but she was strong enough to hold her own. A few nights go by and they started dating. Started seeing less and less of him because he would spend more time with her, out in her car during smoke breaks. He had gotten more reserved and just didn't hang out with the rest of the guys any more; looked really unhappy overall. Then he came into work one night and had a black eye and marks on his body. She was clearly abusive and we pleaded with him to break things off with her. They did eventually seperate, but it was really hard to watch him be so unhappy and in a physically abusive relationship.

Story 8 I relate to that feeling of if only the issues we had would go away than everything would be perfect. truthfully those issues are part of who they are as people. In my case it was their deeply held beliefs that diverged from mine in a drastic and irreconcilable way which I sadly put up with and tried to adopt for a time. that and what I needed or wanted would never truly be a priority only when things got really bad would my priorities be of begrudged importance. I made every effort to include them and their differing beliefs beyond what I was comfortable with but even the slightest inconvenience to their life was me being too much. Now I'm still in the stage of being isolated from the people I care about because my ex go where I go and no one sees how uncomfortable I am with their continued presence, I lost family, friends and the ability to meet new people where I lived because they are seen to do no wrong. So I had to leave, I'd rather be alone than with people who would put my needs last when I prioritised theirs.
