The Asha Degree case always freaks me out and continues to live rent-free in my head, despite reading/listening about it several times

Joshua Powell actually killed his two young sons and himself later after Susan's father was granted custody of the kids. His brother was living in the home and he had CP and explicit videos of Susan and the case was a lot more disturbing than surface level.

I thought that it was Joshua powell dad that had explicit photos of Susan

Story 8 sounds like Witness Protection.
That girl and her family where on witness protection and they where found out.

The story at 15 minutes with the college roommate has me wondering if there may have been a situation of witness protection and that’s why she and her family just disappeared.

My thoughts exactly. Police likely had an idea of what was up and just played along to help her be forgotten.

Somewhere on my paternal grandmother's side we have a missing person. They had just bought a new house and the father went to turn on the main waterline for the house. He goes outside and never returns. Never did.

    Fredrick Valentech
He was a young Australian pilot back in the 1970(i vant remember the exact year)
Well one afternoon he took off in a small Cesna for ehat should have been a short flight to Tasmania. But half way through, he began to radio back that a unknown aircraft was following him and making dangerous passes.
His final message is creepy AF (Aircraft is above me and... Its not an aircraft). After that there is some kind of metalic scraping sound that coukd be herd for a few moment before it went silent.
There waa a massive air and sea search for Valentech and his plane, the Royal Australian Navy even brought out an P-3 Orion thinking they might be able to detect the wreckage on the sea floor, but nothing was ever found.
There are alot of theries as towhat might of actually happened. Some even think that Fred had faked the entire encounter and just decided to disappear to start a new life. Cause prior to his disappearance he had failed to to certified to be a commercial pilot.

The one about the old lady in the Cascade Mountains... my dude. A little old lady with mobility issues disappears off a trail in those mountains, and you genuinely can't figure out what could've happened to her? When you yourself spend that much time in those mountains? You can't possibly fathom what it was?
FFS she was probably attacked by a bear or a cougar.

I feel that, if they keep digging in the spot they found Asha Degree's bag, they'll find her body

Story 2 I got sidetracked and wasn't sure if you mentioned that the "dad" killed his kids and himself later on. The cps worker came for his visit and he locked her out. He blew up the house. Such a coward.

I remember I heard one years ago where a couple were walking down the streeat at night. The guy stopped a second to fix his shoelaces while the girl kept walking and went around the corner. Seconds later, the guy got up, doubled the corner to catch up with her and... She just wasn't there, or anywhere at all. She was never found
Wish I could find it again but the video I found it in was deleted long ago

some of these missing person cases sound like cases of psychosis. if a person you love is acting erratically or very out of character suddenly, do something asap.

The story about the man that went missing on his trip home was Lars Mintank (don’t know how to spell the last name) and I believe he was from Germany and was visiting another European country for a football match.
Edit too add I found a wiki page on his disappearance
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Lars_Mittank
