I remember taking that Job, their training simulator was so buggy, there was even a glitch that let me access the owner's private files. Not only did he fire me, he gave me a certificate of insanity and had me sent to a mental ward so I couldn't do anything legally and so he could get a replacement easier. Easily one of the worst five nights I had in my life...
The 'dirty pint' story, definitely had a few that were so bad I had to return them. The staff make a big deal out of sampling the pint themselves before accepting it's bad.
An accountant (second on command to branch manager) at an Irish branch of an American company was ordering things for himself through the company (e.g. a trailer for a car), and bring them home never to be seen again. Giving contracts to his cronies to come do work and sign off on inflated invoices (likely getting a kickback). He bullied/manipulated the older branch manager to retire so he could take over. Things got worse after that and the Irish branch was losing a lot of money. Someone in the accounts department tipped off Head Office (they would see the invoices from his cronies and for the stuff he'd buy, and then see him leave with it) and one Monday morning some managers from USA Head Office arrived, had a meeting with him, and he announced his retirement/resignation soon after. They didn't fire him, so as to avoid a scandal. Sad though...him and his cronies ruined a good workplace.
my job just stressed me out to the point of developing nausea and vomiting, then fired me for not being able to come into work due to nausea and vomiting. after i got fired and didnt have to deal with that place anymore, it just magically went away! /s
my first job my boss said we have no work for you and cut my hours to 3 a week then proceeded to hire 2 people the next week who both got 12 hours. i was a good employee and had worked with them for a few years
