Story 6 actually makes a lot if sense from a psychilogical perspective. He was right that it was out of place, but his thinking was a but rigid and caused him to become fixated on something that even in the context of the situation, could have simply been there only to confuse him. Untimately it had nothing to fo with anything, but many other similar types of puzzles do depend on finding an object that is out if place, he just didnt consider that maybe the broom is just is broom.
Not a crazy story but a friend of my husband set the time record for the Egyptian room with his brother and brother's friends before covid. As far as I know, they still hold the record for solving it the fastest.
Around 15 people in a room that was about 5 max, yelling over each other, packed in like sardines and barely able to move, blaming me for not answering when they asked for clues; all the while they never grasped the radio use and when they dud manage to use it, most people were yelling over the talker anyway. When their time was up, I opened the door to get them out, and one just huffed past me and slammed the door shut in my face before I could even enter (he was out, not barricading). A group didn't take their child to the bathroom, allowing him to soil himself in the room and not even warning me Grown man whipped it out and peed on the wall A couple getting handsy multiple times, starting before I even walked away from them In a double room game, a girl was so afraid of a prop that she bolted for the first area and closed her friend (who was also terrified) in the second one to save her own skin A group that was right at the end and only needed to open the final door (not unlock, just push open). They were rough housing, and one (playfully) shoved another against the door, forcing it open. They didn't understand and wound up closing themselves back in.
The escape room was escaping a mad scientist. A guy in copious detail went on about how a gun would do the trick in the situation. Every drawer opened was another comment about how finding a gun would have been better than the puzzle piece. Lets just say the game master got annoyed by the end of it.
