I have a question about gluing the rubber to the wood in the rails. What glue is the best ? I have a dynamo bar table.

Does adding a 3mm and a 5mm together affect the acceptance of balls into the pockets. And wow I just noticed you’re adding the two to existing facing. I have 3mm facings now & was thinking about adding another 3mm to tighten the pockets but also thought about adding a 5mm instead of a 3mm to go even tighter but was worried about it affect correct acceptance. I guess it you added both it would be fine for me to add 5mm for a total of 10 which is less than the 16mm total you added. What’s your opinion? I’m at 4-9/16” now. Thx

What's up with the exposed staples in the pockets? Aren't those visible when looking in the pockets?

Does this process work for simonis cloth? I have the same table, but want to use simonis 860.

Hello Doug, I know this video isn't about pool tables but, I was hoping you might be able to give me your opinion on a table I'm looking at. It's a Gold Crown Model AR-6100 series serial number 192,086. From the pictures and video it looks to be like new condition and they are asking $3,500. Is this a good price if the rubber is in good shape in today's market? I will be replacing the cloth just because I don't like the color. I grew up playing on GC's and would love to own one but, I don't want to over pay for one.

David hello. You implied that this is a difficult procedure.....well after watching you r video I'd say a walk in the park is more apt descriptor. I'll let you know how I get on with the three 12ft snooker tables I have coming up, with zero experience!

This was a facinating watch. Now I know what I am going to be paying for. Excellent craftmenship. I hated the brown, but at the end I was like, It is pretty good. I prefer red actually, but seem to be in the minority. You made the weight of the slate look too easy.

Any update on these tables? Specifically the Albany dining style table compared to similar offerings from Spencer Marston or Legacy?

@CreativeRestorations Why wouldn't you layer moving blankets underneath and between the slate pieces?

Another issue: Getting it on straight. As a Michigan football fan, I considered buying some felt with the big block "M" logo on it, but luckily I realized just in time that it would be darned near impossible to get it on straight without the "M" either being not perfectly square to the sides/ends of the table, or the "M" would most likely have some waves/ripples in it and look terrible. Disaster averted (narrowly).

Everyone with half a brain or better knows you are a fantastic teacher as well not greedy or selfish..I struggle to question any part of this, however I found a question for you.. they're might not be a such thing as a stupid question but they're are some that ought not b ask. Hope this isn't one of those... Q: if the errant glue happens upon the good portion of the cloth, wud speeding up the glue dry time help.. with a fan of sorts; cardboard, hat or what have you...I know n trust with your glue ur way is best... so I'm asking for a friend.. thanks n again enjoyed watching a video I had no reason use or rhyme to even watch..ur that good my man

You don’t have to remove the cloth doing to much removing the staples just have someone help u move the table just remove the legs 😊

Do you have any advice on how to fix the woodwork on a pool table where a dog has chewed all the way around the top? We moved into a home with a beautiful pool table and our dog has ruined it. :((

Kudos to you for taking the time to make such a detailed video of your procedure. There are parts of it that I would fundamentally disagree with such as allowing glue on the playing surface and/or wrapping cloth underneath the slate ( which you didnt do but didn't condemn either) Those practises would never be acceptable to a pro level table in my world.

Can you just leave the pockets attached to the frame? I’m going to be moving a 7 foot imperial international 3 piece slate table soon myself. I didn’t see why the pockets came off. Great video.

Do I have to take the felt off on a one piece slate table? Also can I transport the one piece slate flat on the bed of the truck? Thanks

The music during entire video was unnecessary

Green doesn't seem to stain as quickly as blue. It is gross to think about but a pool table cloth gets a lot of sweat soaked into it over a couple of years.

The outdoor game shown in engravings dating back to c.1300, was actually called "Ground Billiards" in English. This is believed to have evolved from older games going back as far as the ancient Persian Empire. It was an obvious move in rainy England to play the same game indoors and then to play it on a table. The playing area on the old picture in the video is just the same as the one used in Ground Billiards, with the single hoop and the king pin.

I liked some other videos you've done but this doesnt do anything for someone that's trying to save the money and diy. Sped up with music doesn't show what you're seeing and fixing or how you're fixing it. I like when I can watch, learn, and then confidently complete the job to a quality standard. Thanks though. Better than nothing I guess.

if I have a trailer large enough, is it possible to just take the legs off the table and move all 3 slabs of slate while keeping them intact?

One pool hall I play at has mostly Medalists, but they also have 6 or 7 Valley bar box tables set for free play. No coins needed, just regular rates. I'm not sure why they did that, but they did. They just had the bar boxes recovered, and they look great!

I found a Gandy Sportman that is being reconditioned with rubbers/shims/clothes new play set and install/delivery fees for $3500. I hope it is a good deal
