    The Doc is like a kid on Christmas morning, all excited, stick in hard, and ready to play. Looks great; enjoy, Doc.

    Another great job Doug and Dave!!! The Doc did a stellar job on the refinish!!! I loved how the Doc hovered around carrying his cue!!! He must be so proud of the transformation!!

    Spent many hours playing on my Aunt and Uncle's Gold Crown in the "garage pool hall". Made me love the super clean and classy lines of the Gold Crown. Just the perfect look for a billiard table. Well done.

    I have a Minnesota Fats table from the 80's in mint condition that is almost identical in design to this table. Great video.

    Beautiful I just got my hands on this exact table yesterday at a estate sale for $900 in pristine condition only one owner had original receipts of purchase in 1996 once in a life time opportunity.

    The install was great… My thing is try to find a GCI or GCII, they’re just better tables.. And they’re everywhere and usually cheap..

    I was given a gold crown 1, didn't have space for it so i sold it but kept all the accessories like the ball, chalk, cue stick, brush and cue stick wall mount

    Paid 1,000 for GC3. $70 to powder coat the castings and counters. First time I bought felt it was around $220 and $120 for the SuperSpeed cushions. So for around $1,500 my table looks just like this one. I love the Gold Crowns. The GC4 with levelers is probably one of the best tables. We won't talk about the cost of cloth right now. My table is getting close so I checked and it's close to $400 now.

    wish I had room for a table. I'd be happy with an 8 foot but it would have to go in the garage or kitchen. the wife said no to the kitchen...sad day. I have never seen a pool table being built so this was an interesting video for me, ty. I would have loved to seen the bumpers being recovered in more detail but that wasn't the scope of this video. I'll look and see if you have a video like that. thanks for sharing. cheers.

    Great video. I wish you had some voice over points during the build for some tips. I’m redoing a gold crown 1 now. I love the transformation that happens with some tlc. Giving a classic some new life.

    Great Video Doug. What Are The Advantages Of Using Bondo Over Beeswax On The Seams? Thanks 👍🏻

    • @CreativeRestorations
      @CreativeRestorations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Bondo is more stable in a wider range of environments. It's harder than beeswax, contains no oils that could potentially leech into the cloth (that's rare but it can happen). It doesn't get brittle like plaster of Paris. I don't have to melt it with a torch like beeswax or synthetic waxes (so it isn't a potential fire hazard). It isn't as messy.
      Need I go on?
      Bondo is just a great medium to use. Why guys still insist on using waxes, plaster of Paris, Durham's putty, or anything else is beyond me.
      Glad you liked the video. The customer was overwhelmed with joy when he finally got to play on his table!

    You seem to have forgotten to double-check if both parts of the long rail are setup exactly in a straight line.

    • @CreativeRestorations
      @CreativeRestorations  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think I did. But, after it being installed in his home this long, if they weren't straight, he would have called me back out. He's a pretty good player!

    Just purchased a pool table, plan on installing myself. That being said, the location I’m putting it in is an out building behind my home. I live in an area that is often cold (Midwest). The out building has no heating or cooling. Are there any concerns with pool tables? Should they be placed in certain environments temperature wise?

    • @joeconnerson9773
      @joeconnerson9773 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes. beleive it or not moisture in air and room temp. can affect how the tabke plays. and never leave a table in 100° weather or cold ass weathers. will fuk it up bad.

    What is your feeling on bondo vs. beeswax?

    • @CreativeRestorations
      @CreativeRestorations  ปีที่แล้ว

      I much prefer Bondo. I’ve been using it for 30 years and never once had a problem with it. No need for any kind of heat source and it’s much cleaner to work with.

      @@CreativeRestorations Thanks. Does it stick when there is previous beeswax and how do you remove it for a relevel?

    • @CreativeRestorations
      @CreativeRestorations  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Use a scraper to get the majority of the beeswax off and then, do several scrubbings using steel wool and acetone. That should do it for you.
