I'm buying a valley panther 7ft and transporting 40miles via a U-Haul I was going to remove bumpers and remove slate.... Any advice thank you
My friend I need advised, will buy a GC IV and I don't want the table to play like a diamond or anything like that, just want to play faster, I live in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico and here there is a lot of humidity. Right now the table has the Original SS cushion and a championship felt. What about Artemis cushion, or any cushion that play better with humidity, what your recomendation is?
Hey Doug, great video!!! What would make it better when you do time lapse videos is a clock in the background to show actual time that the job took. Just an idea. Keep up the good work!!!
would be great to know if it can be adjusted WITHOUT stripping it apart. Most of us face a $1000 bill just to do this.
I appreciate your videos. I have respect for guys that are serious about their craft. I haven't watched every video yet but I have been taking your opinion to heart while looking for a used table. I drove an hour to look at a 9' Brunswick table advertised as "excellent" condition only to find out one of the slate sections had a few giant pieces broken out. The seller tried convincing me this wasn't serious and that a pool table mechanic would repair it easily with drywall mud. This seemed like a load of bullshit to me so I walked away. Did I make the right call?
Thank you for watching my videos.
Although chipped out (or even - sometimes - broken out) pieces on the slate can be repaired, I'd probably pass on it too. If nothing else, it effects resale value later on down the line. Just like you have concerns about it, whoever goes to buy it from you, years from now, will have those same concerns. Think of it like a car that's been in an accident and then repaired. Sure. It may work fine after the repair. But, why buy it and take the chance when there are undamaged ones available? You made the right call!
Would it be possible to move a 3slate pool table a few feet without ruining the slates and level?
How do you make sure the rails are square, perpendicular and the same distances apart?
This is exactly what we did to a pool table we just bought 🤦🏼♀️. Any idea on the general cost of having someone come and do this? Ball park? On the bright side we got a really good deal on the table thankfully. I don’t think we are capable of doing what the guys did in this video. We want to hire a professional.
Great info
So do you prefer wax on seems or the 3m auto body filler
I use Bondo exclusively.
How much do you guys charge ?
I live in mich. Thinking of buying a gc3 but only have a garage to put it in. May heat it later. Can this work or should I just settle for a barbox?
It can work for sure! If you have the opportunity to get a GC3, do it. It will play MUCH better than a bar box!

Question. Will bondo stick to a table that has had bees wax on the seams ?
I typically clean the seams first by using 100 grit sandpaper followed up by using acetone. Usually, this will get rid of any waxes and give a mechanical bonding surface for the Bondo.
I have the exact size table and need those exact repairs, can you give me an estimate I live in Texas tho
Sorry. I only service the Gulf Coast areas of Louisiana and Mississippi. Hope you find someone qualified.
I liked some other videos you've done but this doesnt do anything for someone that's trying to save the money and diy. Sped up with music doesn't show what you're seeing and fixing or how you're fixing it. I like when I can watch, learn, and then confidently complete the job to a quality standard. Thanks though. Better than nothing I guess.
So just disassemble it and reassemble 😂 looked good before
Did you change your TH-cam name? Do you still plan on doing leather restorations and shoe videos?
Yes. I did change the name of the channel. I thought it best to rename it since I do mostly pool table related videos. I do plan on doing more leatherwork videos in the future.
@@CreativeRestorations I’m glad I found and, am again following your new handle. I will reach out during business hours to get materials ordered for my 2014 Olhausen. Replacing carpet in upstairs game room and will need recommendations. I used your detailed video on “How to” move a pool table like a pro to set it up. (I have a 10” Starrett 😎).
