  • This is the final installment of the work done on the outdoor concrete pool table.
This table had so many issues that needed to be fixed. We met (and actually exceeded) those challenges!

Tough job but the table looks great. I just bought and set up a Gandy Atlantan. It's in great shape but rubber is going to need replacing. Came with awful black cloth! (Worst color to play on imo).

Agreed! Black is a HORRIBLE color to both play on and install! Hope the setup on the Gandy went well.

which type of sunbrella cloth did you use please? They have a massive range

Sorry if I've asked you this before:
What is Sunbrella cloth's chief selling point? Not stretching, especially in various temperatures? What if the table is outdoors but never subjected to weather?

Sunbrella just works! I've played on it and it plays great. Holds up VERY well in outdoor situations too.

I'm looking to buy a used Imperial 8ft outdoor table but it appears from their website it does not have a slate. Their website says it's a pearl waterpoof board, as noted below.
What's your thoughts about this type of construction and any issues I'd run into? And what's it like re-felting. I thinking the felt may installed with glue?
"The play field is 18mm thick Pearl waterproof board with Camel color, waterproof Taclon cloth. The Pearl Board bed is made of 140 layers of Formica sheets and polyester resin. It is put through a high temperature and pressure process to form the bed to make it waterproof, fire retardant, durable, and keeps it level for exceptional play.

The construction seems sound. The only thing I'd be concerned about is, does it have enough weight?
Pool tables need a certain amount of weight in order to remain stable. I've done solid aluminum tables before. They're crap. They move around FAR too easily. And, thus, don't maintain level.

@@CreativeRestorations Leveling was my main concern.

I would compare the weight of that table to the weight of a standard 1" slate top table of the same size. If it isn't close, stay away from it.

@@CreativeRestorations Great idea to look and compare the weight.

@@CreativeRestorations This used one I'm looking at is 550lbc. But some other out door ones that run about the same or high retail price are 655lbc to 800lbc. Some outdoor brands don't show the weight, and now I know why. Thanks so much!

Is beeswax for the seams a bad call for an outdoor table?

    • @CreativeRestorations
      @CreativeRestorations  ปีที่แล้ว

YES! Terrible idea! Unless you happen to like wax streaks going across your cloth.
