I remember when i was a kid, whenever we were unable or didn't want to go out to serve, we'd visit an obituary website and look for the most recent deaths (like people who died up to a week ago) to preach to them in the comment section. It's so weird looking back on that shit and trying to figure out how we ever thought that stuff was ok. My mom also fell into Mary K around that time, too, unfortunately. She's left it behind for something else but still a little concerning.

This kinda stuff never mattered to me, because if you can just have an update patch that reconfigures the brain so it no longer cares about women or sex or who didn’t make it through Armageddon or anything that would make a not perfect brain condition. Since sadness would be no more this would be a requirement. Does make one wonder why couldn’t this update patch have been rolled out right away to fix the glitch in the angels brains to want to have sex with human women, or many many other bugs in the programming. My mother lost her father, then her youngest brother and was captured by this cult. Spoke to her today. She is 78. I was 4th generation born in for 30 years, left 25 years 3. She has to subsist on pictures of my 4 boys and my wife and I having our best life. My sadness has been removed by my future happiness, hers is increased by her future loneliness.

This org ministry demonstration in meetings nowadays are truly showing How to recruit such people and to ANY they see at fields😅, they don’t need to talk about Bible in first place, they demonstrate only the conversations they can START that will catch an attention! One example I just saw at the meeting recently is: Hi hello, wow your dog is well trained! Another, Hi Hello I’m always admired seeing you taking care of your elderly parents. It’s only 1 to 2 minute demonstration of these conversations then finish, No Bible opening anymore😅Imagine, and these Adult JWs are encouraged by these demonstration😂

I was 14 years old so this puts us in the early 80s. I had a class mate who got a learners permit to drive. She was practicing with her Mom. She ran their conversion van into a ditch and was killed. I told them I would be attending and what everybody could do with their bad witness thoughts. It's a garbage man-made doomsday cult. The leaders will never learn to shut their big mouths. Too bad there also so many brainless, gutless members! You keep exposing the cult. You are 100 percent spot on!

The number of times in their publications they say something like "you never know when someone's situation has changed. They may have suffered a loss of employment or a loved one may have died for example" is absolutely vile. It would be one thing if it was to offer support. To be a good Samaritan. But nope.

I’m from Australia. When I was a child there was a very bad bushfire called Ash Wednesday. People died and many people lost their homes. People from my congregation went to the area THE DAY AFTER to witness. It was despicable.

The one time a JW i know had to stop and think, was when i asked how fair it is that declining street pamphlets, will exclude you from an afterlife.

My parents used to go to church as a family ,then some JW knocked on the door and I still to this day what was missing in my mother's life to become a JW and cause a wedge in the family .My Dad never ever said anything to her as far as I know about why but he quit going church .I was 2 years old .My Dad never ever bought us any birthday present or Christmas present but he was never JW .I guess he left it to my Mom to raise the children ,he worked hard to provide for 6 children .

Does anyone remember that money pyramid in the 90's which a lot of witnesses got involved in? Someone tried to persuade me because of that, but somehow I knew better. I can't tell you how much I was turned off after knowing this. Raised all kinds of red flags about the organization.

Wanted to know how it got there as she had just checked the rack. I told her that a JW patient would have left it & that they were undoubtably unaware of the pic! The danger of being stalked & brought down,...is SO much scarier than being brought into a religious cult!!! It will have deadly consequences.

You did it again. I often times feel so sorry for myself for being trapped in JW cult for 25 years along with my husband and my adult children who are soft shunning me. Everything you said is so true and I get so mad at myself because I taught my children how to hunt and they are still doing it -

I have never seen Jehovah's love in that Pyramid Scheme. I have never seen Jehovah's love in the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. I have never seen Jehovah's love anyway connected with the Governing Body. Or their works. Only fear, gaslighting and hatred for his flock if they question the self appointed Faithful and Discreet Slave. The Jehovah's Witnesses members create all the love in the Cult amongst themselves, just like most people in the world do too.

Your description of them hunting for vulnerable people as a lìon does is on point. My mother was in a vulnerable state at the time, and she was ensnared. She even knew about 1975 but still joined them (I'm not sure how or why.) Also, considering lions are one of your favourite animals; did you know there was an American species (Panthera leo atrox) that once roamed?

Mostly l agree with your take on things but this episode l think you have forgotten that some individuals are actually better off being a jw WHY ok would you rather be a child of a jw or a child of a drug addict would you rather that man from the last experience be a jw or someone who murdered another person and went back to prison I was raised a jw and now am POMO but the fact is some people are better humans and have had better childhoods because values they have learnt from organisation, maybe even you included While l know the gb are corrupt and doctrines are not for the best sometimes the principles of living a bible based honest life that jws are taught actually help most of them be better then if they had no guidance

I dont think all Christian denominations use peoples vulnerabilities to get new converts. That is a negative view of Christian ministry. Many Churches are there to help and support people in their struggles and not to take advantage of them. Getting them to see that there is a better way of life for them with God. Of course JW's are not a Christian denomination and their ultimate outcome is to keep people from getting saved and knowing Jesus.
