As a child, I started noticing people in the congregation who were unreliable, ne're do wells, impulsive. In my early 20's, I noticed that the elders & the org were constantly jerking us around. Then I read the Bible thru & the actions of the Isrealites were enough to drive anyone crazy! And even worse, Jehovah was so petulant, ego maniacal, bi-polar, impulsive, unjust & cruel. Who is going to follow that? The bible says, " You will know them by their fruits"! My real dad demonstrated true stability for me. Thanks dad! Such great reasoning, Surviving! Your biological dad missed out on knowing a great person. 💙

Yo man this one was 🔥! I remember when I was a youngster I asked my parents what happened to people knowing about Jehovah between Jesus’ death and Charles Taze Russell and they couldn’t give me a real answer. Just some bs about Jehovah’s name being lost or something. I used to ask the same questions as you Stacey and never got intelligent answers. I knew once I was 18 I was gonna bounce.

The name "Jehovah" was never lost because it wasn't invented until 1530 A.D. by William Tyndale. Not only invented, but a grammatical impossibility having nothing to do with YHWH. So much for that WT fiction.

Last checked, I searched the word “organization” through an archive JW site that has every publication printed from 1879 - present, & that word was mentioned some 11,000 times, which is odd since it appears 0 times in the Bible, & they claim their literature is bible based.

While you were an elder did you ever think it was unfair that normal witness didn't have the information in the elders book. Especially people who were niave to certain rules that elders knew about.
l was disfellowshiped 40 years ago and one of the most frustrating things to me was that l was told on multiple occasions about 15 years ago that if l had done now(15 years ago) what l had done 40 years ago l would not have been disfellowshipped no apology though.
Apparently they changed the condition of something being a one-off thing and 1 meeting of judicial to making a habit of something and having to be asked into several judicials.

If there was always an organization which I know that’s what they do teach, why do they at the same time teach that his modern-day organization was started up under Russell? And here’s the biggie if Jehovah always had an organization which means an organized people under his influence and control, then why did Russell start up an independent organization, why didn’t he just seek out and join God‘s already established existing organization if he has always had one, what would be the point to start up another one on your own when there was always an organization to run to for salvation?
So if there was always an organization as they teach that there has been, then wouldn’t Russell have to have gone to God’s existing organization for salvation? It is paradoxical, enigmatic, and makes no sense, does it. You cannot simultaneously have possession of your cake and eat it, too.
In other words, Russell cannot start up Jehovah organization as the Watchtower leadership teaches, and at the same time teach that Jehovah has always had an organization even up to Russell’s coming onto the scene. The leaders of JW. Org change the whole paradigm of organization and redefining what the word organization really is. What kind of organization is no organization at all? And that the GB teaches that by faith we must believe always existed but without logical provable evidence, because if God had an organization, surely he would’ve directed Charles Russell to his true active organization, and not start up something new to what Jehovah already had established since before the flood. How do JW’s get around this huge elephant in the room?By saying something moronic, like “it just wasn’t Jehovah‘s time to reveal his organization yet”, which really isn’t addressing the issue because they can’t, it’s like putting a square peg into a round hole trying to forcefully hammer it in where it doesn’t work.

I actually did a chronology calculation as an ex-JW elder too; so I was already familiar with the dates involved in which God had a congregation of people on earth who joined themselves in large numbers to try and obey his laws and speak about him to other nations. So basically, you have 3 periods of "organization". 1. the formation of the Israelite nation under Moses and the old law covenant, 2. the formation of the Christian congregation in the first and 2nd century; and 3. the formation of the modern day organization started by Russel and terminating in the 21st century of our day.
And all of the 55 years I was a zealous member I can't figure out why I never questioned that IGNORANT STATEMENT! So, in summary, out of about 6,045 of human existence; only about 1,290 years of it was represented by an organization of followers of the God Jehovah! So for 80% of the period that man has lived on the earth; God has had NO organization on earth representing him and using his name in their worship!

I left in 1999 after 25 years and haven’t looked back. Prior to becoming a JW in 1974 I was raised Lutheran but stopped attending in the Navy. After I left the JW’s I went back to default mode of no religion.
It took me a few years of therapy to get all of it behind me. I worry about you content creators dwelling on this and not moving on to live their best lives.
By way of example, I became a content creator for close to twenty years after leaving the JW’s but an entirely different type of content. Before I became a JW there was a Sprint Car owner in our family that introduced me to racing. After leaving the JW’s I setup a racing website and bought camera gear. I hooked up with a local racing paper and a magazine and had a lot of fun until I was 65 and shut it all down. Difference being that I did it for myself after sacrificing a quarter century.
It’s a recent phenomenon that it seems every “born in” that leaves the JW’s starts a channel. I don’t seek out ex JW content but I’m a TH-cam junky so it finds me. Stacy, you sound like a fun person to have a few beers with and unload on the WT. Your channel is interesting at times and frustrating when I beat myself up for converting to it. I believe I recall you saying that since leaving you have not joined another religion. Likewise for me, I was in “the truth” and found out it wasn’t true. I’m not looking for a version of JW lite or for another religion. I can’t imagine how someone who is no longer religious can “now if you’ll turn with me in your Bible while I read…”. I ran up a pretty healthy therapy bill to erase that stuff from my head. I hope that you know when to bail if this starts affecting you in a negative way.

Please dont ever beat yourself up for joining. We were all fooled at some piont. The important thing is that you figured it out & learned a great life lesson & wont be fooled again! What you said about getting that stuff out of our head has validity. But, in my case, I have all this useless info that hopefully I can use to help others & as long as I still have family in, there is hope I can do something with it. With family in, there is no real escape, & you need to stay honed & prepared.

    • @StanMNdirt

I have one daughter who is still a JW but it’s not my job to “witness” to JW’s about why they should leave. We got out in 1999 before TH-cam and there was very little about it online. Back then when you left you just went out and lived your best life. That’s what we have done for 25 years and hope to continue into our 80’s. Today the only things I’m “honed and prepared” for is to grow the best herb and enjoy retirement before I go belly up. Hats off to anyone willing to devote their freedom from JW’s to dwelling on them. I got that simple advice from my therapist. It would make no sense to pay for expensive therapy to leave the JW stuff behind while still dwelling on their propaganda.
That can’t be good for the old mental health. I don’t care who it is, dwelling on this can cause a lot of problems.

What forensic, child psychology, or investigative background do the elders have. What training? I think the 2 witness rule has destroyed more lives then the absolutely senseless blood policy. When the word bloodguilt becomes irony and reality... I don't think elders are in any place to handle CSA and the fact that they don't report predators to police makes them a danger to society in general. I don't cherry pick the Bible or religions. That said, if it was the truth then why are so many lies told in court trying to defend it.

You can say whatever you want regarding religious organizations and I'm with you on that. The Bible is clear that we will be judged individually not based on an affiliation, but I draw the line when you mock God, therefore, as of today, I'm unsubscribed from your "channel of communication." (pun intended:-) I hope for your sake, and for the sake of others that you influence, you will reconsider your place with God before it's too late. And there it is. "blippity blap...before it's too late." Just how many centuries of people repeating those very words need to pass before you all realize there is no "too late". There will be no Armageddon. There will never even be a period where peace and security is claimed globally. That's required, right? Never going to happen. Certainly wouldn't in the next 1000 years.
