- The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses have been very busy receiving 'new light.' from Jesus Christ. It's a pattern. What will they change next? We predict the next three changes in 'god's organization'... and how it will impact future citizens of paradise.

My grandfather was a WWI veteran and my father was a WWII veteran. I was in the Navy during Vietnam and I was stationed in Mayport, FL. My wife and I were renting a mobile home off base. We were contacted by a couple by the name of Sellars and the brother was baptized in the early 1900’s and professed to be anointed. When I got out of the service and returned to St. Paul, MN, I knew a brother Morrison who had been baptized in 1914 and professed to be anointed. Some from those places who were around in the 70’s will recognize those surnames.
As you point out, this whole religion is built around 1914/1919 and the “anointed”. To move away from 1914 dismantles everything and calls the “anointed” doctrine into question for anyone still active. In the mid 70’s I was an auxiliary pioneer on and off for a couple years. I remember taking a deep dive into the Aid book trying to be able to explain the chronology that arrived at 1914. A prophesy in Daniel, times, times and half a time. A day for a year and it added up to 2,520 years or something like that. I wanted to be able to explain it as we had a seminary in our territory. I guess that I was spinning my wheels.
The 144,000 and 1914 doctrines weren’t aging well in 1999 and that was the turning point for me. They have devolved to a shell of what they were prior to the internet.

Oh yes, the good old Aid Book. We all tried to navigate that thing and come up with answers. I've never heard anyone try to explain 1914 with any confidence. Most JWs can't begin to explain it.

Plus, Ray Franz was the person who authored the section of the _Aid_ book about the Gentile Times. When he researched information for that section is when he learned Jerusalem was not destroyed in 607 BCE, which made the entire 607-1914 narrative null and void. Of course, WT told him to finish the article anyway, despite the truth he'd learned, and keep WT's false doctrine alive.

Stacy, even as a child, I loved looking for patterns. I learned the world we live in is governed by numbers and patterns. Math and problem solving have always been a passion for me. I do remedial math in my head and people wonder how I don't need a calculator. Jigsaw puzzles are my passion as well. I just love recognizing patterns. A rainy weekend and a new 1000 piece puzzle is heaven to me.

I honestly believe the gb has little to do with these changes. They are not that bright. I believe it is the corporate brass. The ones who have truly made this a real estate giant. They are the ones who are forcing the changes. This is only my opinion. Thanks Stacy
You're not far off in that speculation. I've personally been around most of the current members of the GB and they are not the sharpest tool in the shed. They're average at best.
The real influence behind the GB are a couple tiers down. Some Helpers and heads of departments in conjunction with some external entities that manage the finances, legal and real estate interests are the real movers and shakers. They may have some input on matters but GB is just the figure head that makes the pronouncements.

Individuals that know all the nonsensical old guard rules and regs are killing cash flow. It's not Sanderson, Lett, Herd, Losch, Splain, and their pals. From what I've been told over the years, WT, at least the original Pennsylvania Corporation, is not run by JWs. It's run by businessmen. I think that's who gives the frontmen, the GB, their marching orders. By the time any changes get to the GB, it's a done deal. Those nine clowns aren't deciding on or running anything.

53:05 Stacy, I had to laugh at this bit… When I left the org, a little over a year ago, I was in such dire need of taking control of my own being, and my own actions that I set out to cover both of my arms in sleeves… Eight months later, mission accomplished. I ran into an old sister at the post office, and I happen to be wearing a tank top… The look on her face was priceless. Being that this is true for me, I can only imagine that once tattoos and piercings are allowed inside the kingdom hall, you’re going to start seeing people with a similar attitude as mine who start getting maybe even more than one tattoo… Lol! The older brothers and sisters are going to begin wondering what in hell they’ve just woken up to. Although I will never step foot into a Kingdom Hall again, I wish I could be a fly on the wall for all of these changes, especially tattoos and body piercings. I think you are spot on with these predictions. It’s becoming a shit show and I’m here for it. 🤣
My son who never got baptised and got me out is a tattoo artist 1st thing I did half an arm so far. I have 3 in and I have gone back in as I couldn’t take being shunned by them it’s kinda fun being the fly on the wall watching the reaction to my Tatts and with all the changes. It all still makes me angry but and my jaw drops at the manipulation that goes on.
Oh yes, I know several sisters who were hiding them! LOL! Ridiculous....and the older generation JWs will struggle with that one...

I had a friend, that as an adult, told me his mother, also a JW, would still call him and wish him a happy birthday. I was very surprised by that at the time. Now, I have an immense amount of respect for that mother.

Days of the week, month names, pagan. Weddings, pagan. A lot of people don’t know this, graduation cap and gowns come from the Catholic Church and other early Protestant churches, JWs don’t want to associate with Christendom yet have no idea that they do just that with graduations and so many other things. My JW mother in law said they don’t say bless you when I said it to her because of pagan origins. She knows it’s changed to just out of politeness but the pagan roots can’t be ignored. I told her, you know people including you, cover their mouths out of politeness and that’s pagan as well. It’s so an evil spirit doesn’t go inside you. Also, that mermaid costume you bought your granddaughter, pagan, mermaids are literally demons in pagan cultures. She didn’t know what to say. As long as the governing body doesn’t say anything then it’s fine. Can’t stand the hypocrisy and cherry-picking.

What’s really dumb about their reasoning on birthdays… IT WAS CELEBRATED in biblical times. So called bad shit happenes.. what is a question that’s asked to a person who’s birthday is coming up.. “ what do you want for your birthday” obviously that was what the person wanted.. the beheading and so forth. So when something bad happens at a KH.. do they shut the doors, NO. Shit happens. But try and make sense to them on wedding traditions.. maid of honor… is meant to confuse the evil spirits. But they still have maid of honors. When birthdays come back… I’ll be having a chat with spouse, who is still a witness!
I'd love to be there for that chat! Romans 14.....it's coming......they'll act like it just dawned on them.....
The reasoning or lack of it is outstanding in a bad way.
When it's something they want to make a point on they twist it around.
Example the other week like you my Spouse is a JW and the broadcast was on .
They were talking about something I wasn't really listening but it went something like .
A question was asked and the answer was" That's in the mosaic law and not applicable to us today.
Later in the broadcast the mosaic law was mentioned but because it's something they wanted JWs to do it was we can accept the principle.
I really don't understand how the active JWs don't see through all this nonsense.
I give up even trying to talk to my Spouse about it anymore.

Regarding tattoos, something that all religious people seem to miss is that apparently Jesus Himself has one. You know, in Revelation 19:16, where it says that "... on his thigh he [Jesus] has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords". Now if that's not a tattoo, I don't know what is. And if Jesus can wear one, why not others? Clearly He was ignoring the Leviticus instruction about not having tatts...
I'm not sure about that. The verse, in its entirety, reads: "And upon his outer garment, even upon his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords." (NW 1984 edition) The word picture attributed to John begins with verse 11. Concerning Christ, we read: "And I saw the heavens opened, and, look! a white horse. And the one seated upon it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness." (NW 1984 edition) Then, in verses 12 and 13, we read: "His eyes are a fiery flame, and upon his head are many diadems. He has a name written that no one knows but he himself, and he is arrayed with a outer garment sprinkled with blood, and the name he is called is The Word of God."-NW 1984 edition.
The name, "King of kings and Lord of lords", in verse 16, is written on his outer garment, which, when he is seated upon his horse, as when 'carrying on war in righteousness', could appear as though to be written upon his thigh, and which outer garment is said in verse 13 to be "sprinkled with blood". At the same time, the "name...no one knows but he himself", in verse 12, is also said to be "written".
I highly doubt that either of these "names" refer to tattoos. Besides, the Society claims that Christ was resurrected with a spiritual body, not a physical body. If Christ existed in the first place, and if the Society's contention could be verified, that would seem to make even one bodily marking impossible. As such, the passage of Revelation 19:11-16 can not be used to justify any potential change in the Society's policy regarding bodily markings.

Just found this podcast. I have been out for well over a decade but recently had like 4-5 JWs that havent spoke to my wife and I in 12 years just pop up and try to start talking with us again. As soon as we didnt show interest in returning they immediately went back into hiding again. I just want to say thank you for your work and that these sort of things really help our community.
I left because I realized the bible is a collection meddle east regious folklore. From stopping the sun to talking a animals lol.

@@survivingparadisepodcast now that I left instead of looking for fault with the JW’s I have become a fan of Bible scholars like Bart Ehrman. He is a non believing Bible translator and has a guest sometimes who was a translator for the Vatican. I go straight for the reliability of scripture and the context of the times it was written.
Likewise with the JW’s. I went straight for the jugular and dug deep into the anointed doctrine of 144,000. If they cannot verify their anointing by providing proof the bottom line is that it’s bullshit. Anointing and having the right to micromanage lives is a big claim that requires a big burden of proof.
Without that they’re just another religion that doesn’t know anymore than I do about the meaning of life. If the 144,000 is bogus then end of conversation. We have nothing else to prove and can go live out best life and not allow it to live rent free in our heads.
In case anyone hasn’t guessed I don’t feel obligated to save anyone anymore. That was a JW thing, moving ahead with my life and forgetting the trauma is my only obligation.

Regarding 1914 they didn't even realize that years in the Old Testament were calculated by the moon and after Christ the Romans switched to the sun calender which changes the whole calculation. Because they deny their members higher education they have become so dumbed down that they have completely lost the plot

Same for me. We were expected to tell all of teachers on the first day of school we were JWs, then preach to them about why we won't celebrate anything. I never did. I always waited to cross that bridge when I got there and handle it as softly as possible. I never felt an obligation to hammer people about my JW beliefs, even though I was a fully in, multi-generation JW.

after I woke UP, I read Job. I read it carefully and realized that Job and his family ALL celebrated their birthdays. They changed the wording in the NEW world translation to say "each one on their SPECIAL DAY" but most other translations say "birthday" Job was Loved and protected by Jehovah, the only reason the bad things happened was because of Satan's challenge, NOT because of anything Job did, not punishment from JAH , HE WAS RIGHTEOUS! It made me so angry to realize the G.B had deliberately took the word Birthday out! And used the phrase " special day" instead. So there actually IS an account of Birthdays being celebrated by RIGHTEOUS people!
Blood transfusion will be a matter of conscious.
The only reason I disagree with the blood doctrine changing is the amount of litigation they would be hit with.....too many past JWs would sue them
"Would they claim, 'You made me do it'? Could they make that claim? I think the organization will take a chance with that one. When they previously taught that organ transplants were wrong and then changed their stance, did they face any lawsuits? I'm not entirely sure.

Regarding changes, they seem to come in groups of disciplinary rules (softening to placate the authorities), doctrinal "new light" (to work around flaws in understanding), and cosmetic (the distraction).
They might change their handling of CSA claims, address it directly by changing the meaning of the "two witness" (they way they're so good at changing meanings).
One new light I'm expecting soon is the claim that the Great Tribulation has already started. This would still make them "right" about the 1914 generation, and is the explanation for the governments "attacking" them by removing their privileges.
Another one is changing 144,000 from a literally fixed number or a fluid symbolic number.
Cosmetically, I'm wondering if they'll allow men to grow long hair. After all, some men in the bible had long hair, most famously Samson. And there are plenty of clean hair styles for men with long hair in the world... because that seems to matter.

Regarding tattoos, I don't think they'll allow witnesses to get them while they're "in the truth", but they might relax the rules about newly indoctrinated or returning witnesses who got tattoos before get their privileges. I think the hair length will come way before the ink.
For piercings, they might allow men to wear earrings, but not elsewhere on their bodies (nose, lip, brow, nip, genitalia).
One super cooky idea I had that allows them to reinforce the inerrancy of the Bible: there may be some people who heard Jesus say 'some of you will not die' are still alive today.
There may come a day where the governing body starts telling its followers to take up arms. Jehovah has repeatedly sent his people to war. In Luke 22:36 Jesus said to buy a sword. In Matthew 10, he also said he came to bring, not peace, but the sword. I don't think it will come soon, but they have the verses to back this position.

This would be a return to the previous Watchtower doctrine. New old light, going full circle just to end up where they began, but calling it "progress".
Interestingly enough, your thought on the great tribulation would actually be a return to what the Society taught until the 1969 international assembly. The understanding was that the opening phase of the tribulation was effectively concurrent with the First World War. From and after 1919, we've been living in the period after the tribulation (specifically the aforementioned opening phase) had been "cut short". (Matthew 24:22) This time of cessation would allow for the final members of the remnant, the heavenly class, to be gathered into the "little flock" of "chosen ones". (We already see a trend in this with the Society saying that the general heavenly calling is yet ongoing and did not end A.D. 1931-35.) The time of cessation would also allow for the Lord's "other sheep", the earthly class, to be gathered into the "one flock, [under Christ as the] one shepherd". (Compare Luke 12:32; John 10:16) In short, the time of cessation would allow for the field service to be accomplished in accordance with Matthew 24:14. Then, at some point allegedly in the near future, the tribulation would be allowed to resume with its final phase, the battle of Armageddon.
It seems possible that the Society could return to this teaching. After all, it would allow the Society to retain 1914 (and, consequently, 1919) in some form. (In all honesty, I simply can not see the Society dropping that altogether. As Stacy mentioned, 1914 is the table on which the entire house of cards stands. (Those are my words, to be sure, but an accurate description of what he did say.)) As I mentioned above, the change regarding the end of the general heavenly calling could provide a chronological basis for this. After all, the Society is no longer dependent upon A.D. 1931-35 as an artificial and arbitrary cutoff for the anointed, with any new ones thereafter being replacements for those who turned unfaithful.
Of course, the fact that their were over 22,000 who went on record as stating that they have the heavenly calling at the 2023 Memorial (part of an overall increase in that figure since that change was announced in 2007), the Society will need to dispense with 144,000 as a literal number. The "Revelation Climax" book gives the Society a basis to do this as well. According to the box on important numbers, 12 signifies completeness from a human standpoint. 144,000 is obviously a multiple of 12. Furthermore, in his analogy of the two olive trees, Paul is said to have written: "For I do not want you, brothers, to be ignorant of this sacred secret, in order for you not to be discreet in your own eyes: that a dulling of sensibilities has happened in part to Israel until the full number of people of the nations has come in, and in this manner all Israel will be saved." (Romans 11:25,26,NW 1984 edition) Notice that the phrase used is simply "the full number of people of the nations". A specific, literal number is not stipulated. The thought is of a complete representation, a cross section. Once that indeterminate "full number", that complete representation, that cross section has been achieved, then the angels holding back the four winds of the final phase of the great tribulation, the battle of Armageddon, would be told to release their grip.-Revelation 7:1-3.
It would be very easy for the Society to do both of these things. Indeed, it would be easier by far than dispensing with 1914 altogether. And, regrettably, it would also have the effect of tightening the control the Society exerts over Jehovah's witnesses as the Society can then continue to point to 1919 as the year in which it was appointed as Christ's "faithful and discreet slave" class "over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time". (Matthew 24:45-51,NW 1984 edition) On the positive side of the ledger, however, the "superior authorities" do seem to be taking more notice of the Society, meaning that the Society would end up being exposed as the "evil slave" class, which the Society no longer mentions except as a warning. So, in the final analysis, this may not be so bad after all.

One congregation had a sister attend the Sunday meeting wearing a trouser suit with a shirt & tie! It's literally a role reversal, as the majority of brothers weren't wearing jackets or ties. Then, there's the over-zealous mature sisters who act as the Fashion Police, judging & advising the younger sisters to conform to the 'old light' dress code. It's ludicrous. However, the GB are very clever because the congregations are distracted by these mindless changes, which create petty arguments and friction.

There were choirs at the Society's larger international assemblies in conjunction with the live orchestras prior to 1978, when, beginning with the "Victorious Faith" International Assembly, the Society switched to pre-recorded music at the summer assemblies, later expanded to the circuit assemblies. (Of course, the Society would refer to these as "choruses", seemingly to avoid any inadvertent connection with religion.) Even at district assemblies, there was typically a brother or a sister who would sing an occasional solo during the musical interludes and to accompany the singing by the delegates. Incidentally, I remember we still had a brother step onto the platform at circuit and district assemblies to direct the delegates during the singing using a conductor's baton. This continued well into the '80's. And, of course, who amongst us of a certain age also remember a live piano to accompany the singing during congregational meetings? What you're proposing would not be new in itself.

I have seen some ridiculous tattoos eg, Road Runner, Flinstone's and other nonsensical tattoos etched into a human body, all done in their youth.. If I traveled two decades to the past and told the dubs at the time that a governing body member would be on tv with a full beard telling everyone that women can now wear pants in the org I would be immediately dealt with and yet here we are. Speaking of beards I imagine its challenging for a lot of these guys growing for the first time in their lives so it probably really is accurate that they do not know how to maintain one let alone what beard oil, balm, shampoo and relaxers are. I agree w/ u on these changes, as well. The 1914 teaching is an albatross of doctrine. They’ve slightly been focusing on 1919 v. 1914. I believe their biggest issue is trying to find a way to trash this doctrine while maintaining their appointment.

That’s how they are able to change doctrines back & forth b/c many who were aware have either passed away or too senile to recall, so if they lose a few but can gain a new crop of naive, unsuspecting members that’s just the cost of doing biz & surviving.

I think you’ve seen the video on the 10 year plan of changes already leaked supposedly leaked. But this discussion on tattoos was entertaining and funny.
I also have two nice stories about tattoos.
1. When I helped at German Bethel in the early 90s, I was also in the gym. A big muscular brother came in there who was covered in tattoos. Two large crosses were emblazoned on his forearms. At that time I thought to myself, "Well, he doesn't feel comfortable in his own skin" (German proverb). He was obviously recruited by JW.borg after an eventful youth.
2. On a winter vacation with a large group of JWs, there was a guy in the bed across from me. He grew up as a JW, but then he also had a wild phase in his life. That earned him a devil's head tattoo on his calf (It looked nice). But eventually he went back to JW.borg, and that tattoo was an absolutely no-go. He actually had no problem with it but what will the others say and think when they see it?!? When we talked about it, he thought about having the red devil's face covered with a black billiard ball.
He married a JW.borg woman, had a whole stable of children and is probably still living happily ever after, in their fantasy world of resurrection and paradise.

I completely agree with your prediction. All the paternalism regarding personal decisions regarding one's own life and body is just disgusting. You're right, all the things that JW.borg can't be held accountable for in court could be given to children like little candies. However, when it comes to birthdays, there is a risk that those 10-16 years old today will remember that they were deprived of a beautiful childhood and leave JW.borg when they are old enough.
This means that JW.borg is again losing a generation (this time the real meaning 😉🤣😁) of potential MS and elders. That wouldn't be fun for them.
One thing I noticed over time is that the GB stopped using the label, "the Truth" - at least that's my best recollection. (Sure it was imbedded in the JW culture, but in their literature, you rarely saw the expression "the Truth"). And I think they did this because there were so many changes to the religion, they didn't want people to think too much about what the expression and label "the Truth" actually means IF they keep changing it!!!

They are losing members but need more folks to make senses to appeal to younger people. Their vivid picture in WT books used as method of subliminal seduction too. Next thing I think WT will grant JW go to college since door to door time has lessen, let you marry who want and change their JW name to get better reception. I think go back to name of Intern Bible Students since supposedly known all over the world. Shunning rules need to still be revised. I faded 20 years ago and my JW family ignores me but I live as moral upright citizen .Anyway will JW be allowed to work with local PTA or be volunteer at homeless shelter or join YMCA or buy stuff from antique shop ( we were not allowed cause the previous owners might be Satan worshippers) .
