- The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses are the most 'honest' men in all the universe, just ask them. This week they produced an article entitled "Is Truth Important Anymore?" Taking a brief look at their history, should they be commenting on 'truth?' What do we find when we examine the organization they call 'the Truth?'

Stacey I confronted a JW ex friend of mine with facts about 607 , their false prediction 1914,1918,1925,1975 etc and all he would come back at me was emotional word like , “ ok you might be correct but where else would you go “ I was so pissed off , cause the modern JW will not or can not defend their TRUTH
Well, you go on with your life, as a responsible adult... duh!!
Remind him that's not what the scripture says. It says WHOM else would you go to referring to Jesus. If you are a believer tell him you haven't gone anywhere else, you rely even more on Jesus and dont need to listen Man (GB).
It’s like your friend tells you your husband is cheating and shows evidence, but you say, why should I leave him, how can I find someone new and most men cheat anyway. They don’t care , put your head in the sand. I had similar experience. But I know that I once thought the same way!

I think the craziest statement that I heard about people that left the organization is "I guess they just didn't want the truth." Cognitive dissonance at it's finest.

One point that you have not emphasized enough is how the WTBTS equates its publications with the Bible itself. An individual is never encouraged to read and study the Bible alone. No, an individual is directed to "the channel God is using and its Bible-based publications." WTBTS publications are held up as being just as, if not more important, than the Bible itself. Bible study can only be done by intensely reading and studying the organization's publications on a regular basis, and then completely accepting what they say the Bible means. Reading the Bible itself can lead a person to draw erroneous conclusions, according to the WTBTS, whereas unquestioning adoption of the organization's teachings is the only way to find "the truth that leads to eternal life." When I was disfellowshipped, my judicial committee told me that my reinstatement would depend on accepting the WTBTS as the only channel and source of divine truth. Love of God and desire to follow Christ weren't important. Blind loyalty to the WTBTS was what really mattered. I'm grateful that I heard those words because they said all I needed to know. I turned my back on this cult and have not set foot in a gathering of Witnesses down to this very day.
Very true! I have a past episode on this very subject. Do they study the Bible? Easy answer. No.
Stacey, this episode was spectacular. Laughed, cried, got enraged all within an hour and 10 minutes. As humans who deal with our fellow humans, we want honest interactions. To have so many years taken away by those being willfully dishonest, it’s painful, but to be able to recognize that pain and the source of it is healing.
I have so many “colorful”, explicit and brutal things I’d like to say about that organization and the pain it’s caused myself and others, but I’ll refrain, as there’s those who are on their own journey of unraveling “the truth” and finding their way out who will soon also have similar feelings, similar honest feelings. Just knowing that daily, there are people like that, gives me one of many reasons to enjoy everyday I get now. And to that person I say, keep going. It won’t be easy but in the end, if you value real truth, it’s so worth it.

1979. . . That was a good year. I graduated from high school and life's journey started for me. Great year for music as well. As for the, "truth" well, that is subjective. Remember Stacy, it's OK for JW's to be less then honest with , "worldly" people. All under the guise of , "theocratic warfare." That's a term I heard often in the kingdom hall.

I had a JW recently tell me that, yes, even though being a spirit medium is wrong, and the Bible and WT say to avoid spiritism, and Greber was in communication with the "spirit world" when he came up with his unique Bible interpretations WT loves so much, it still wasn't wrong for WT to rely on him.
This was said AFTER I showed him how WT categorizes "spiritism" in the literature:

Stacy, When I left 10 years ago my marriage was hanging in the balance. I had been married to my best friend for over 20+ years. I asked her the same question. Please tell me one date or prediction we have lived our life by that has ever happened? It was dead silence. In the end Honesty triumphed. Stay strong.

You hit me on many levels with this one. By this time, I am fully aware that I am trapped (as a 4th gen pimo) in a lying religious cult. But I am also a huge Billy Joel fan. So, good on you. This is a strange question but I want your opinion on this. Where do you think the Governing Body members would be if they were never Jehovah’s Witnesses. Here are my theories:
Gerrit Lösch: Head manager at the Grand Hotel Wiesler.
Steven Lett: Real Estate Broker.
Kenneth Cook: Unknown as we don’t know much about him.
Sam Herd: Career in the Army.
Geoffrey Jackson: Unknown as we don’t know much about him.
Mark Sanderson: Unknown as we don’t know much about him.
David Splane: Unknown as we don’t know much about him.
Gage Fleegle: Unknown as we don’t know much about him.
Jeff Winder: Unknown as we don’t know much about him.
While writing this I’ve noticed that most of the Governing Body members were born into the religion. While there are exceptions like Lösch and Herd most of these guys are born ins who after graduating high school fully dedicated themselves into the religion. This religion is their everything to where I can’t predict what they could have been outside of it.
But we don’t know much about those guys in NewYork but millions trust them to be teaching truth that will effect their future? Jesus warned us about false teachers. What about their teaching that became darkness of old light? They blotted out many books they published , why? Shame? yes, shameful errors! The greatest sin is their stating God and Jesus are teaching errors through the governing body. And they cast out anyone who will no longer follow them, judging them incorrectly, as though dead if anyone follows Jesus instead.
OH boy that's fun!!! I think at least one of them ends up as a policeman, right? LOL!

I thought I knew all of the reasons as to why I left the organization but sadly you added a few more. I'm still a believer, so I feel I walked away with something out of the deal, but I wish we could all have a do-over, a second chance at life. So much was stolen from us. Your last two videos have been quite good. The only area I would differ from you on are your thoughts on their new Jesus film. I thought the acting was good and that the film was excellent, it still doesn't make up for all of the years of deception.

Hi Heather, almost missed this! That interpretation of those versus is very dishonest. Those are 'restoration prophecies' written for the Jews. As an example, we can still see the conflict going on over the 'land' in that area today. There is ZERO in those scriptures that apply to a future paradise earth worldwide. They take it all out of context to support their belief....a belief they didn't even know about until 1935?? Did Jesus teach a paradise earth? NOPE. All books/passage written to give the Jews of that time hope

And didn't the JW"S not adopt the name Jehovah's Witnesses in 1931 ? So how is it that "JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES LEADERSHIP " predicted the end of the system of things as of 1914 ?
That is correct, Joe Rutherford made the new name official by 1932. Nonetheless, the 'organization' of JWs, as told by THEM, goes all the way back to Charles Taze Russell. He was succeeded by Judge Joe Rutherford.
It's in print: Charles Taze Russell predicted the end of the world by 1914, I provided references if interested in studying his predictions
