I Collect Knives. It's my hobby. I do Not get Paid for this. I do these "Unboxing Reviews", to help other knife collectors and knife enthusiasts, decide if a certain Style or Brand of knife is right for them. I just give my Opinion, based on My experience, with each blade. I hope my Reviews Help someone.

Love LT wright knives. Wish I could afford a couple
@@adam-in-maine6274 ,… I hope you get some LT Wright knives, soon also. 👍🏻
@@adam-in-maine6274 ,… I hope you get some LT Wright knives, soon also. 👍🏻
Six years later and this knife is selling on eBay for one hundred thirty dollars. 😂
Reminds me of a Randall attack
Those are really cool.
@@Broddi169 ,… Hey Broddi. How’s it going? - I like it. I’ve been trying to get my hands on one for quite some time. Seems heavy and solidly built, like a Buckmaster 184. I read that the original was the “Apparo-7” from Martin Knives then they did a collaboration with Boker to bring the more affordable Boker Plus Apparo to the masses. The originals used better steel but I’m Not complaining. 👍🏻🔪
@@JoeDoomsday that's awesome. I may have to jump on one
Great looking knife. Congratulations
@@gf2390 ,… Thank You. I appreciate it. Thanx for watching. 👍🏻🔪
@@JoeDoomsday my pleasure. Hopefully I will add one to my collection in the future too.
This is a great knife. You made a smart purchase. Good review.
@@Sharpbevel ,… Thanx. I appreciate you saying that. It really is a spectacular knife. It’s so underrated!
I have always appreciated this design. Really awesome survival knife
@@donavantew8278 ,… Thanx Donavan. I always wanted an Apparo. I just really liked the look of it. Now that I have it in hand, it seems really solidly built. So far I really like it. 👍🏻🔪
@@JoeDoomsday that’s great. Love the look of it. Job well done 👍🏻 brother
I had one of these as well Joe, I ended up grinding the useless teeth off it and removing the bit of alloy from the cap for the lanyard and polishing it up for signalling. Also I threw that amazing sheath away and made one with a stone pouch similar to Randall's sheaths. A friend of mine was doing it pretty tough and I ended up giving him the knife to cheer him up and it was love at first sight when he got it. As far as cutting goes even when razor sharp it's crap, as it bounces off hard and medium hard wood due to the Appleseed grind, if it was flat grind it would have been better. On the up side it is built like a tank. Keep up the good work mate, it's always terrific to see a new vid from you.
@@collector7993 ,… Thanx for the kind words. I heard the saw was for removing fish scales. 🤷🏻♂️. It seems to do a notch as good as any other survival knife. I haven’t really used it yet so I can’t say how it will perform. It does seem to be built to last. 🔪👍🏻. Too bad it doesn’t include any survival gear.
Congrats joe great blade with history"
@@tomritter493 ,… Thanx Tom. It is a Cool Blade. The history with this one is pretty wild too. 👍🏻🔪👍🏻. Have a Great Weekend.
This is really old video but you would think knife designers would think a little bit.. move that nail clip toward the tip and it would be much easier to open..
You need to look at the comments for your Down Under Walkabout knife review. People have been asking for an update but no comments have been responded to.
@@ianmackney3089 - I have a second video of the Walkabout knife where I am testing it in the woods. Have You Seen that video yet?
Nice patina.
@@macabremofo945 , Thanx. It turned out really good. 👍🏻

They are really cool. I wish they made like a lager version. But as they are they look like good quality pieces , cool review brother
The maxam is a aitor jungle king 1 copy its badthe mtech I have is a tank I liked them for hunting fishing stuff
Good 2 know
Cool knife. Cold steel just came out with a khyber knife recently that has the T back spine. Really looking forward to trying one out.
Really? Sounds pretty cool. I will have to check it out.
Thumbs up Joe
The sheath alone was probably $150 😳
Ya probably. The sheath & the Knife are both, works of art. Beautiful craftsmanship. 🔪👍🏻. For me,… this was a once in a lifetime purchase.
@@JoeDoomsday oh yea dude. I’m not at a place where I could even think about getting one. Truly a thing of beauty!
Need to varnish the blade IMO but otherwise the knife is amazing id also personally make alterations to the sheath but hey!
Are You suggesting a forced patina on the blade? Or just varnish to protect the handle? I did want to purchase their upgraded sheath that has a Ferro Rod loop and a Ferro Rod with the matching Micarta handle on it. None were in stock when I purchased this knife though.
@@JoeDoomsday patina is the correct word yes
And also id modify the sheath so I could scout carry it!
@@josh44779 ,… Yep, I hear ya. I like Scout Carry myself.
@@JoeDoomsday I'm not a fan of behind the hip carry but in front, behind just gets in the way and I'm not interested in someone stabbing me with my own blade!
That "saw" is actually a FISH SCALER from 40's outdoorsmens' barlow. Not sure even the designers realized what they were copying.
I have heard that before but I wasn’t sure if that was true, only because the saw is so aggressive. It seems like it would shred a fish to bits. 👍🏻
They are such great knifes
Hey Tom. They really are great blades. After seeing Your videos of the LifeKnife Commando,… I was intrigued & WOW! They are really cool. Thanx for Your videos brother. 🔪👍🏻
Gorgeous joe if you want to buy the original lofe knife I have one in the box like new ya the two I have are different on that pouch
Awesome
It might be a while but I would eventually be very interested Tom. I got other projects going on at home, plus other knives already on my asap list. I’d like to see pictures of it and see how much you are asking for it. I’m definitely interested,… let me know. 🔪👍🏻
I loves the old retro type knives that were inspired by Rambo /Commando. Good score
Thanx Bro
Really high quality
Hi d
@@tomritter493 hey brother Tom. I hope everything is going well brother.
Awesome addition. Very nice 👍🏻
Hello Donavan! Thanx Brother they are really cool knives
MidwayUSA has the Cold Steel it's available with them & I also like those BudK sticks.
Just picked one up. Its my new cake cutter and fish cleaner . Ill have to get some glue too. Good day .
Hey, thanks for doing this video. I have been eyeballing this knife for a couple of years because it looks to be a truly elegant and beautiful fighting/outdoor knife. But I have had my suspicions for some time about whether it was a solid full-tang construction or not. So, thanks for butchering yours, so I don't have to! I may still buy it for kitchen use because of its looks, but I wouldn't trust it for anything else. However, if they took this design and beefed up the tang, sorted the balance issues, and perhaps even used better quality steel, it would be an absolute winner for me. Thanks again... Peter, (UK)
Nice video..brings some memorie's from when we were young.. I have an almost 40 years old Aitor Jungle survival Bowie. Made in Spain and is one of the strongest hollow handle knives in the world. And i have a replica from end 80's from the Buckmaster 184..also a good blade.. I like the hollow handle knives.
That’s Great. The Aitor & Buckmaster 184 are both excellent knives. 👍🏻🔪🔪. I don’t know what it is but I really like the idea of a hollow handle knife. I know all the Pros and cons of the designs but,… they just seem so Cool, I can’t resist them. Nostalgia I guess.
@@JoeDoomsday Yes is have the same with hollow handle knives. Espesialy the ones from the 80s and 90s. But a good one will not break. Look my Aitor..almost 40 years. Everybody thinks a knife must be full tang to handle batoning but that is not true. The Aitor can handle batoning..shopping..Everything. Would that special feeling what we have cames from the rambo 1 movie? I dont know.. I think without the rambo 1 first blood movie i Would have the same feeling for them. Although for knife lovers the first blood 1 knife is a special memory,a childhood memory..before that movie there existed already hollow handle knives. See the pilots in Vietnam. When i was very young i always had hollow handle knives..i loved the consept of a knife where i could store stuff in. I wish i had a orginal buckmaster.mine is a very strong clone but i Would like to have the orginal. But..no its hard to explain where that special feeling comes from. Maybe John Rambo has conditions our brains? Hahaha..
You've not confirmed ANYTHING other than your 'Giant Killer Bowie' is a full tang knife. Everything else you've stated is merely speculation based on alleged rumors and supposed hearsay.
I know the other TH-cam guys and saw their videos. Their Giant Killer Bowies were two separate pieces welded together. My Giant Killer Bowie looks like it’s one solid piece of steel. Mine apparently is Full-Tang. Theirs is NOT a true full-tang because of being 2 separate, welded together pieces. All of us Speculated that perhaps they did 2 or more “Runs” of this knife,… some were full tang & some were Not. We warned people that if they purchased one of these knives,…they might get a good one or they might get a bad one. 🤷🏻♂️. We confirmed that there are some crappy versions of this knife and some decent versions of this knife.
Thx for the web store ive buy mine on chicago .
Good review!
Thanx , I appreciate it.
Leather handles are lacquered. I sand it off estwing hammers/ hatches. And soak in hot wax. Then buff to a shine.
Love mine. Carbon V ???
Its not bizarre they reused the box. We sent a Browning pistol back in a Ruger box and the wasted money to send the empty box back.😅
Awesome. Hopefully ill get a 184 in future
Nice
Looks great
Nice one
I have the small one and medium one. Nice trackers.
I have two of the smaller type. One has Rambo on the blade and the teeth and blade shape are closer to the Lile. I have a Lile mission knife I got recently too.
Your collection is awesome mate. I'm sure you'll like some of mine if you have time to look. Just subbed
Very beautiful knife, I recently got one for my self.
Amazing quality on that sheath
,… the Quality of the sheath really surprised me. 👍🏻
Another awesome addition to an epic collection. Outstanding joe 👍🏻
Hello Donavan! Yes it’s a Peach. 🍑 🔪👍🏻
An that's in great shape both of mine are in good condition Awsome man you'll love it
Thanx Tom! I do love it already. Really good quality. 🔪👍🏻
Nice knife Joe, I really wanted one of these in the 80s but in Australia it's always so hard to get anything.
Thanx, it is a great knife. I’m glad to have one finally.
I picked up a black bladed Cold Steel Trailmaster a couple weeks ago at local pawn shop. Got it pretty cheap due to pawn shop owner said that it looked modified. It don't say what steel it is on it anywhere. It has a black wooden looking handle. The blade actually looks blued like a rifle barrel. It only says Cold Steel Inc, Ventura Calif, Made in Japan on one side. The other side has some emblem or something maybe previous owner had done. Must have been in Air Force because it has a bomber plane and the word Intruder on it. It has number 011 on it also. Decent leather sheath with it though. I had thought about maybe putting it on the bay and try to get my money back on it and buy one of the newer models. But a really good friend of mine is going to trade me a brand-new Cold Steel Laredo in 4034ss steel for it. I have wanted a Laredo or Natchez for quite a while.
Cold Steel made a special TM for Willem Dafoe's character in the Flight of the Intruder movie, and then offered a limited edition of 500 replicas for sale. Unlike the regular TM, it has a black micarta handle, and a blacked out blade finish. Apparently at the time it was very difficult to black out stainless steel, so when you do see these, they may have blemishes in the finish. Also came with a CoA. The 1992 catalog lists the model # as 16B, but the box label on mine says 16JSB. - Period: 1992? The movie came out in 1991, and this knife is in the 1992 catalog, but not sure if it was available before 1992. Blade Steel: Cold Steel's "400 Series Stainless"; convex edge Blade Markings: Side 1: INTRUDER logo and serial number Side 2: COLD STEEL, INC VENTURA, CALIF MADE IN JAPAN VINTRUDER COLD STEEL, INC VENTURA, CALIF MADE IN JAPAN Sheath: Black leather, with strap that goes over guard. So it has a Micarta handle, only 500 ever produced, it is Stainless Steel that is “Blued”,… It’s a movie inspired Trailmaster. Probably worth a lot of money if it is in good condition. Good for You! 👍🏻🔪. I wouldn’t trade it for a Laredo or a Natchez, if I were You.
The bigger ones are made in Italy but small ones and throwing axes are chinga china
