  • Unboxing review of the “RODAN” Camp Knife, from: Condor Tool & Knife. This knife has been around for years now and I am certainly not the first person to review this knife. I thought it was such an interesting knife design that I decided to find one for myself. Let’s revisit this odd yet capable, camp/survival knife. This KABAR BK2 clone is constructed in German 1075 Carbon Steel, it is 10.75” inches overall with a 5.5” inch blade with a 4.5” inch convex cutting edge. Full flat grind with a subtle drop point. Almost a Full-Tang blade. Injection molded, Polymer handle with a brass eyelet that helps secure the tang inside the polymer handle and serves as a lanyard hole. Steel is 3/16” of an inch thick. Just a hair over an 1/8” inch. Steel is coated in a rust resistant, polymer paint. Comes with a Black leather belt sheath of high quality materials and construction. This is an impressive knife from Condor. It is discontinued now. It has become fairly difficult to find. Two other variants of this knife were also produced by Condor but they were larger. 1st the Varan camp knife and 2nd was the Kumunga machete. The Rodan was the smallest of these three blades. I hope Condor brings these budget friendly, interesting blades back someday.
