I have a prototype BK2 from Becker before Kabar. It is painted battleship grey in a USA-made nylon sheath with no hammer pommel, solid handle tang, and in O1 tool steel way better made than production models. It would be very expensive to purchase it from me if I was ever to sell it.

It probably does need that, those skeleton handles are always a weak spot. Its basically the harmonics from the shock wave while batoning. BUT if ya use it with common sense you'd never have issues.
The Carbon might be tougher for bending but that skeleton handle will rust . I really wish they would not cut it out, makes no sense. It dont save money and takes more time to cut out, it's weird. That thing should be pretty wicked S35VN that thick is nuts.
I'd like to get a BK 10 I've always wanted one but so many knives and my wallet can't handle all my wants. 😏

Ya I hear you, Knife collecting is an expensive hobby. I agree completely about the shockwave breaking the tang while batoning. Even after I add the steel stick the weight isn’t worth worrying about. They all need to stop skeletonizing the Tang. It’s Stupid and it doesn’t make or break the balance or the weight of the knife,… ESEE proved that! It’s just a jackass marketing ploy to sell knives. Thanx for watching. I appreciate it. This might be my last video. I’m bored of the knife collecting game. as far as weekly uploads, I’m done. I just don’t enjoy it anymore, plus it costs way too much. PEACE OUT. P.S. I hope You get the BK10. I never bought one.

@JoeDoomsday Been there man, I left my old channel cause of that very thing.
I can't afford to buy a blade every week , heck once a month is challenging now. I think I'm gonna start building them more . I can buy cheap blanks and do puukko knife builds . I'm just doing it for fun , I never want to make it a job where I work for free and buy the product that people want to see each week.
      Not worth the headache.

Knivesandtools.com sells them. They collaborated with KABAR to make and sell these blades. I see they are Not in stock at the moment. I heard a stonewashed version was on the way but I’m not certain when it will be available. I wish I knew more at this time.

Better hope you don’t use aftermarket scales. The pins go through those holes.

The BK72 comes with these micarta scales. I didn’t add them. I did add the same exact scale to my bk22 though. I ordered them from: the knife connection. They seem great.

@@JoeDoomsday anything from TKC is 2 pin. But JB is drillable. We fixed a head on a 350 with it once.

@@aprilnichols2806 ,… my mistake. I actually ordered them off of Amazon Not TKC,… They have the 3 holes. They look & feel exactly like the scales that came on the BK72. Identical.

@@JoeDoomsday I believe Becker Micarta is 3. I did wood scales for all mine.
