I love the stainless steel Mora Garberg but I had to get this one in carbon steel, just because it looks so good!

Most expensive Mora is the Ash series, I honestly believe the Garberg is priced just right. Better than many custom knives out there and I own many. I have many expensive knives but my Garberg Carbon is my number 1 always.

I agree. I hear a lot of people complaining about the price but,… it’s a darn good knife for the money. I think if a different company like ESEE or TOPS or ColdSteel made this exact same knife for the exact same price everyone would love it and sing its praises! But because people have come to expect low cost budget knives from Mora,… they have a hard time accepting the price tag on the Garberg. I would prefer it to be a few bucks cheaper . That would be great but it’s definitely worth the extra money. 👍🏻🔪.

I got the Bushcraft Black many years ago, and never got the Garberg. As I look at it, the Garbreg blade looks almost identical to the Bushcraft. And the Bushcraft handle might be the most comfortable handle of all time. Only difference to me is no pommel tang, which is virtually useless as far as I'm concerned.

I believe the steel is thicker on the Garberg. That plus the Full-Tang construction, with a hammer pommel is the big selling points of this knife. “Survival Knife “ , “practically indestructible”, etc., etc., I have a box full of Mora knives. I’ve tried them all. I personally like the Mora Garberg versions the best although they definitely do Not have the best handles. If you’re doing Bushcraft/Camping then any Mora will do. - I think the Garberg is designed as a “SHTF Survival Knife”, that can still do all the Bushcraft/Camp tasks pretty well. Plus lots of people have cried a river for years about how Morakniv are Not full-tang so they were weak. Mora finally responded with the Full-Tang Garberg for anyone who just couldn’t accept a knife that wasn’t full-tang. I like the exposed pommel and thick steel with the stout tip. If you ever decide to buy one strop it immediately as they arrive with a few burrs when brand new.

I just did a video on my Carbon version which had a really bad micro bevel . Your plunge line has the same pointy transition, but at least it works . I had to remove that micro bevel the machining was all wacked.
I've never had a dull or bad edge on a Mora but my Garberg sucked .
    There's a first time for everything I guess ..
I fixed it and now it's at a sweet zero degree edge.
Honestly the price is not bad , I've seen them at $79 with the leather sheath thats a good price and what I paid. I do like the Carbon steel much better than my stainless.
    That red is cool 😎

Ya I saw your video. I love the polished edge you get on your knives. I will try your technique on the blade belly. I think I saw a MoraKniv video the other day that said you should strop your new mora immediately before you use it. (Which kinda surprised me) I have 3 Garberg’s at the moment, one is stainless steel the other is carbon steel & of course this latest Dala red version is carbon steel. They all arrived paper cutting sharp and I’ve had No problems with any of them but I do see what You are saying. The next time I sharpen one of them I will try to do it your way.- I agree the knife is too narrow for how thick it is & Getting rid of that tiny micro bevel is a good idea. 👍🏻

@JoeDoomsday They need to be stropped because all their knives are done by robotic machines now.
Unlike companies like Joker who actually still have good old fashioned humans using belt sanders. 😄
Moras come with leftover burs on them and sometimes their stainless blades can have burnt steel edges.
I don't like their 12C27n blades they are very soft . The 14C28N is good stuff but now Mora is saying ...
      "RECYCLED STAINLESS ♻️ " AND CARBON ??
That's so weird in my opinion, not a good selling point.
      Cheers 🍻.
