Awesome...I didn’t know there was a blacked out carbon V version. I purchased a Uncoated version in around 1989 to be a user in place of my Rambo 1&2 knives. Most of my collection was stolen in 2014 and I replaced it with the 01 version. It’s the Recon Scout that I could never find Uncoated til now in 3V...with it had a matching brass guard.
Cpm3V Recon Scout with the brass guard would be pretty neat. - Sorry to hear your collection was stolen. That Sucks! I hope to get the uncoated, carbon V version of the Trailmaster, with the Brass guard someday. It looks great. I want the San Mai III, convex version made in Japan someday too. Of course I gotta have the cpm3V version. I need more money! Way more money. 💰 💴 So I can get all the knives I dream of owning. 🔪🔪🔪
Beautyful..i have now the Cold Steel trailmaster cpm 3v. Great great blade! And you was one of the guys that sayd to me the guard was very well build on the knife. Thanks brother. Btw..your knife is a straight clippoint..the strongest clippoint they ever made. Stay save brother!
@@JoeDoomsday I payd 427,95 euro for it. And the normale price was 554.95 i believe.. Those knives are here in Europe very very expensive.. But i wanted it so bad.. Thats why i asked you in one of your video's about the guard. And you was right..this knife is near indestructible. And 8 mm thick!!!
I picked up a black bladed Cold Steel Trailmaster a couple weeks ago at local pawn shop. Got it pretty cheap due to pawn shop owner said that it looked modified. It don't say what steel it is on it anywhere. It has a black wooden looking handle. The blade actually looks blued like a rifle barrel. It only says Cold Steel Inc, Ventura Calif, Made in Japan on one side. The other side has some emblem or something maybe previous owner had done. Must have been in Air Force because it has a bomber plane and the word Intruder on it. It has number 011 on it also. Decent leather sheath with it though. I had thought about maybe putting it on the bay and try to get my money back on it and buy one of the newer models. But a really good friend of mine is going to trade me a brand-new Cold Steel Laredo in 4034ss steel for it. I have wanted a Laredo or Natchez for quite a while.
Cold Steel made a special TM for Willem Dafoe's character in the Flight of the Intruder movie, and then offered a limited edition of 500 replicas for sale. Unlike the regular TM, it has a black micarta handle, and a blacked out blade finish. Apparently at the time it was very difficult to black out stainless steel, so when you do see these, they may have blemishes in the finish. Also came with a CoA. The 1992 catalog lists the model # as 16B, but the box label on mine says 16JSB. - Period: 1992? The movie came out in 1991, and this knife is in the 1992 catalog, but not sure if it was available before 1992. Blade Steel: Cold Steel's "400 Series Stainless"; convex edge Blade Markings: Side 1: INTRUDER logo and serial number Side 2: COLD STEEL, INC VENTURA, CALIF MADE IN JAPAN VINTRUDER COLD STEEL, INC VENTURA, CALIF MADE IN JAPAN Sheath: Black leather, with strap that goes over guard. So it has a Micarta handle, only 500 ever produced, it is Stainless Steel that is “Blued”,… It’s a movie inspired Trailmaster. Probably worth a lot of money if it is in good condition. Good for You! 👍🏻🔪. I wouldn’t trade it for a Laredo or a Natchez, if I were You.
Yes, this knife variant has a full flat grind with a secondary V edge like you said. Mine was used when I purchased it so I resharpened it and I put my own homemade convex on the V edge. Kinda like “Work Tuff Gear” & LT Wright does on their blade edges.
Very cool, didn’t know they made a coated version. A cold steel classic
