Hi there I was attempting the walk this morning but I seemed to have got a bit lost . I had alltrails and walkhighlands but somehow I missed the wee wooden bridge before you start to climb up the hill 😮 were exactly was it ? Brilliant videos by the way 😊

Class vid mate,completed the cairn toul- braeriach traverse in 12 hours a couple weeks back now ,Cairngorms is my favourite place in scotland.

I grew up in Bathgate and never even knew this existed. Must visit.

There were 27 of these bings in West Lothian when I grew up, and few communities within the county did not have at least one towering over them. Although I am sure a few folks must have viewed them in a rather different light after the Aberfan Disaster of 1967. Whether this was a factor in their gradual removal - the red shale makes a fine packing for roads, I believe - I do not know. But, as of today there are but 19 remaining; 23, if you count Addiewell’s Five Sisters as separate bings.

Looks a great hike. Our groups added it to the list. But I think we'll wait till most of the snow has gone.

I climbed this in January, 2024, in very similar conditions, though it was sunny and clear, everything was frozen solid, with deep snow most of the way up. Actually made it easier as no soft bog or snow to sink into, just hard and frozen snow. Thanks for the video, ATB Angus

Just climbed this today) Early January 2024. Very cold and slippy underfoot, but well worth it for the amazing view.

U should try walking near wester inch bathgate as there's is 3 disused mineshafts lefts abandoned some still lay open till this day

Done this a few days ago… 11:00 I’m shocked that it’s dry lol that full area was FULL of water and rising rapidly we got soaked… it was brilliant and added to the adventurer but 15/20 mins later and I would have been stranded

I love local to the Pentland hills only being about a 30min walk away to my house, the car park you drove in is being revamped right now so the main route into the hills has been diverted & the road leading in closed but not by very far at all! you can still get access very easily. fantastic video & new subscriber here. You sound like a Scottish David Attenborough😂

Top tip! If you’re heading up, you MUST walk past the trig point at the top a further 50m and take in the views west! It’s so easy to miss this and turn back, but keep going!!
