Glencoe - The Best Viewpoint - The Pink Rib Route
Glencoe has many brilliant sights and view points, but this hike takes me up to one of the best. With panoramic views over Glencoe, Rannoch moor and surrounding mountains, including Ben Nevis, It definitely ticks all the boxes.
This video follows a route up Beinn a'Chrulaiste known as the pink rib, a grade one scramble with beautiful views down Glencoe and over to mighty Buachaille Etive Mor.

Killin to Loch Tay - Good views with little effort
มุมมอง 1.4Kปีที่แล้ว
With a forecast of snow on the hills, I was looking for a lower level walk with a view. Heading to the town of Killin, I found a route up into the mountains on the south shore of Loch Tay that would give me good views over to the Lawers range. A fantastic walk if you're visiting Killin and want some nice views across the loch without climbing any large mountains. Route: explore.osmaps.com/route...
A Beautiful but chilly walk | Creag Mac Ranaich | Scottish highlands
มุมมอง 660ปีที่แล้ว
The day starts in an icy Lochearnhead, Unsure if the equipment I brought will be enough to get me to the summit. A journey up Glen Kendrum to Creag Mac Ranaich, A stunning wee Corbett with a panoramic view over the southern highlands. It's a steep mountain, with little in the way of a path but easy to get to thanks to a track leading up the glen. The Route: explore.osmaps.com/route/15916405/cre...
A magical reward after a disappointing failure | Beinn Odhar | Tyndrum
มุมมอง 709ปีที่แล้ว
This trip to Tyndrum takes me to the summit of a corbett Beinn Odhar, in search of views over the munro Beinn Dorain. I started the trip in the dark, leaving from Tyndrum and following part of the west highland way, alongside the road to Glencoe. Once I reached the summit, I found it to be cold and barren, covered in mist. I decided to head back down the mountain and was treated to an amazing l...
Ben Ledi | First trip back to the Scottish Mountains

It's been a while since I've been up a mountain, and I was well overdue a trip back to the Highlands. This first trip back to the mountains sees me visiting Ben Ledi, a Corbett just outside the Scottish Town of Callander in the middle of Loch lomond and the trossachs national park. Ben Venue | Loch Achray | Loch Lomond and the Trossachs

Ben Venue lies within the Trossachs, a beautiful forest filled area dotted with lochs and part of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs national park. Ben Venue is fantastic mountain, with beautiful views over loch Katrine, Loch Achray, Loch Venachar, The Ochil hills and those on the shore of Loch Lomond, standing proud at the southern edge of the highlands. Thanks for watching! Kris. Route osmaps....
Walking in the Cairngorms | Lairig Ghru
มุมมอง 7K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I headed into the Cairngorms to visit the Lairig Ghru and the pools of Dee. Passing through the Chalamain Gap, I realised there was something happening in the area, with helicopters scouring the hillside and mountain rescue teams making their way up the paths. The Cairngorms National Park is the UK's biggest, home to some of the highest mountains in the land and some of the most extreme terrain...
Elie Chain Walk
มุมมอง 4.6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Just outside the little town of Elie in the Kingdom of Fife is a very unique, one of a kind little walk, the Elie chain walk. This is no simple walk however, the route involves a fair amount of scrambling up some vertical rock faces, albeit with some help from the chains. If that wasn't enough, you're on the clock as time is limited, with the tide closing in, threatening to cut you off. The sce...
The Hidden Secrets of Glen Devon
มุมมอง 5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
A trip to the centre of the Ochil hills and the upper Glen Devon reservoir, to visit a place that has been hidden and inaccessible for 18 years but recently became within reach due to the second driest summers in 160 years. It was really interesting to make this video and learn about the history of the glen, how the reservoirs came to be and the important role they play today. It's a lovely pea...
Wild Camping in the Pentland Hills
มุมมอง 4.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
A summit camp in Pentland hills near Edinburgh. From Flotterstone carpark, my fellow youtuber, Monty Outdoors and I walked around past Glencorse reservoir before heading up top to Bell's hill to spend the night. It was a fantastic evening, still and warm, although it did make the flying beasties a little irritating at times. We picked a great spot free from the beasts and with a cracking view d...
Beinn Udlamain - Drumochter Pass - Munro Bagging
มุมมอง 1.6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
A munro bagging trip to climb the munros Beinn Udlamain and Sgairneach Mhor, just off the A9 at the Drumochter pass. On the eastern side of the pass are 4 relatively easy munros due to the high starting point. These hills, like the others at the eastern side of the pass are large rounded mountains with shallow ascents making for a comfortable walk but with fantastic views. I hope you enjoy and ...
Hiking around Ben Nevis North Face - The CIC hut
มุมมอง 3.7K3 ปีที่แล้ว
A relaxing hike around Ben Nevis to its north face, to see the legendary CIC hut. Starting off in Glen Nevis and heading up the pony track, past the half way lochan and round to the steep cliffs of the north face. The Charles Ingles Clark memorial hut is a unique and one of a kind place in the UK. Perched high up on the mountain side but still dwarfed by the massive cliffs of Ben Nevis, it endu...

Fairy Pools - Isle of Skye - Scotland

The fairy pools on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. On the western edge of the black Cuillin mountains, nestled in Glen Brittle, lie a series of magical pools filled with glowing with blue water. Stuc a Chroin via Beinn Each - Munro Bagging

A tale of failure and success in my attempts to bag the munro Stuc a Chroin in the southern Trossachs. Via Beinn Each, I followed a route from Loch Lubnaig near Callander, up through the peaceful Glen Ample and up the steep slopes of Beinn Each. An undulating walk followed along the rocky ridge that connected to Stuc a Chroin. A fantastic viewpoint over the central belt and to other nearby Munr...

There were 27 of these bings in West Lothian when I grew up, and few communities within the county did not have at least one towering over them. Although I am sure a few folks must have viewed them in a rather different light after the Aberfan Disaster of 1967. Whether this was a factor in their gradual removal - the red shale makes a fine packing for roads, I believe - I do not know. But, as of today there are but 19 remaining; 23, if you count Addiewell’s Five Sisters as separate bings.
