- My first attempt at a wild camp, didn't end quite as i expected!
I've always fancied heading out wild camping, but i've never really thought it through or planned one out, so i decided to just go for it.
With my limited wild camping knowledge, i headed up into the Ochil hills from Tillicoultry, to find a nice we spot with some views to spend the night.
Given my inexperience, there was a 50/50 chance this would go wrong, but overall, i had a great time and can't wait to get out again!

Currently editing our first wild camp and thought I would have a nosey at some peoples and it always amazes me how you can make your narration so informative yet so interesting and funny. I suppose if stills counts, even if you did leave early.

Thank you for a good bit of Friday night entertainment Kris, we watched on TV last night and have just got to the computer to comment. I always enjoy watching your well edited videos and the narrative is always wonderful. Great bit of filming Kris and the voice over was perfect mate :) I'm not the biggest fan off tents as i find it hard to sleep but i'm working on it but one advantage i found is you do seem to relax more as there is no rush to complete the walk and head back to the car. And there is no better feeling sitting on top of a Munro near midnight. Thanks for sharing, peter :)

Upper Mill Street in Tillicoultry usually has plenty of space and right next to thr base of the hill
Great first wild camp there and we learn lessons on every one.
I for sure have left a pitch in full darkness due to wind and weather... my wee tip, earplugs for the flappy-factor 👍🏻

Was up that way today and looks like I went the same way as you well definitely took in the views on the bench then aimlessly appeared at castle Campbell.
I'm not entirely sure of the hill names yet but because I live down the hill from there I will learn them over the next few years. When you get up higher from the bench and look over the glen to the west you can see trees and I'm thinking there may be a decent sheltered spot around there.

Sounds like a nice wee walk, sounds like you went up to the Kings Seat hill and over. I think there's a nice area further near Andrew Gannel hill called Maddy Moss that looked promising with some wooded areas. Still go so much more to explore up there! Thanks, it's much appreciated! Cheers, Kris.
