Lomography's Earl Grey 100 in a Pentax 645 Review and Driveby Photography
มุมมอง 4838 หลายเดือนก่อน
I ran a roll of Lomography's Earl Grey 100 film through my medium format Pentax 645 camera with the 45-85mm f/4.5 lens on a bright, sunny late-afternoon. The results from this film were deep blacks, bright whites and nice, soft shades of grey. Ilford FP4 in a Pentax K1000 is an Excellent Black and White Film Combination for Beginners
มุมมอง 8938 หลายเดือนก่อน
Using the Pentax K1000 35mm camera with a 50mm f/1.7 SMC lens, I could not have been happier with the results of the Ilford FP4 Plus 125 black and white film. I shot this roll on a sunny day, a few hours before sundown, but in late-February, so the sun was at a sharp angle, giving me very nice light to play with. Scanned on an Epson V600 using the basic version of Epson Scan software, I was abl...
My First Roll of Ilford HP5 Plus with Pentax 645 and some neighborhood Drive-by photography
มุมมอง 3648 หลายเดือนก่อน
A cloudy day is the best day to take a ride with a roll of Ilford HP5 Plus black and white film. For this video, I use my Pentax 645 medium format camera with the SMC 45-85mm zoom for 15 images including some classic cars found in a local neighborhood, to a view of the city center in downtown Indianapolis. Ilford Delta 100 is everything they say it is! Let's try it out with the Pentax K1000 Film Camera
มุมมอง 1K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
I would have expected this Delta 100 35mm black and white stock to be more costly than it actually is, especially compared to other 'professional' films like Kodak Portra 160, 400 and 800 in either 35mm and 120 formats. But to the contrary, as of this article, I can buy Delta 100 locally for about $8.50 US, while Kodak Portra 160 is over $12. Even Ilford's own sister-black and white 'consumer g...
Mamiya 645 with Kentmere 100 Medium Format Film and some Classic Car Photography
มุมมอง 2418 หลายเดือนก่อน
I loaded a roll of Kentmere 100 black and white 120 film, already my favorite brand, into my Mamiya M645 manual camera with the 55-110mm very sharp Mamiya C zoom lens and headed out to specifically shoot an old car on display on a rural property not too far from my home on nice, sunny late afternoon. But a bonus for this day was a second car, an old Biscayne that was sitting along the road with...
Lomography Potsdam Kino 100 review, but would I buy this low-budget 120 film again? Mamiya M645
มุมมอง 5489 หลายเดือนก่อน
I'll admit the cool name Potsdam Kino got my attention, but so did the incredibly low price of just $6.90 per roll of this 120 medium format film. So before even loading the film, this brand had already scored two positive points. It could only get better from here ... right? Well, you'll have to watch the video to find out. This roll of black and white film developed using Cinestill DF96 Monob...
Is Arista EDU Ultra 200 black & white film any good? I find out with my Nikon FM10 in a small town!

There are the traditional, time-tested high end varieties, as well as the tried-and-true low-budget films that are attractive to both beginner and novice shooters. I loaded my Canon AE-1 with a roll of Kentmere 100 film and shot these small town photos!
มุมมอง 4239 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Canon AE-1 is a much sought-after by boomers 35-mm film camera. Originally produced in 1976, the AE-1 was Canon’s most successful attempt at a 35 mm SLR camera for the general consumer, and a huge success during an era when competition between Canon, Nikon, and Olympus was fierce. The camera is just as popular with film enthusiast today, if not more so, than it was even in it's hey-day. A l...

Ricoh GR Street Photography After Dark with Settings and How to Handle Noise at ISO 25,600
มุมมอง 2.2Kปีที่แล้ว
Why am I no longer concerned with High ISO settings like 18,000 or 25,600 at night with my Ricoh GR, or any of my other cameras? Because I've found that with the new Denoise feature in Lightroom, I can shoot at any ISO I want, run it through Denoise, and rid the image of most of that nasty digital noise. This process saves a lot of time in that I can hand-hold while shooting at 1/160 shutter sp...

I had a GR for the last 5 years knocking around mistreated - no sensor dust
You must be living somewhere where there is a lot of sunshine ☀️. In the UK, most of the times your ISO would shoot over stratosphere in this setting.
Flimsy negatives? LOL
Very cool 👍
Hi, looking to buy a Pentax kf, seeing many people say it is basically the same as the k70 but newer and higher price.. for realestate, compared to the canon eos, is it better or worse? I have a deal on eos 80 D used but sadly it is at the same price as the Pentax kf new.. Thank you for the video
I will get my first Ricoh gr camera tomorrow 🎉🎉🎉! Thanks for sharing. Really like your channel subscribed ❤❤❤
This is a year old video but if you are ever selling the GR i please let us know! Or, if you know where I could find it for a reasonable price? I feel like ebay's prices are so inflated :\ Maybe I will just go with the GRD iv .. tho I do want to shoot mainly in color
How do you lock in the Apature and shutter speeds? Manual mode? Otherwise the camera will do it all
Fuck photography class lol joined shit thinking it’d be easy I’m watching a video how to load film for my final project 💀
You can also use an UV filter from JJC which does not need an adapter and is put directly on the camera - for those who like the small size of the camera.
Do we have right to take pictures of strangers in streets. I cant answer this question in my mind. The result is no street photography in my life 😊
Great video, nice images and good explanations, well done
Lo he pensado durante años. Lo voy a hacer.
You saved me, thanks.
That was great. I've actually used KDP for a novel, but I was looking for a quick overview of how to use KDP for a photo book. This did the trick to remind me of the (fairly simple) process. Making a photo book definitely looks easier than writing a novel!
Good work.
Do you have to mail the books to the buyer yourself, or does amazon do it for you once it's published?
Hope your doing well missing your content 👍
I just bought a GR3x so this was very helpful. Many thanks
Well actually, originals GR are the GR Digital (from 1 to 4) with an epic CCD 1/1.75" sensor. _ Nice vid man. Cheers from Mexico City :)
Great video. Whereabouts were you shooting here ?
Thank you for posting this. I am in the process of creating my photo book about my community here in Brooklyn NY. I chose the 7 x 10 hardcover book, but now I may consider the soft cover....especially because the price difference. I have lofty ideas of a museum quality coffee table book, interviews, awards, a movie....ok, just funning (PS a documentary short was made about me and this community, story for another day), anyway I did want this book to be of some quality...and you gave me that answer so thanks for that. I am about under a year out to when I will publish. My question is did you promote your books to sell on Amazon, or did they sell because of your photography experience? I know you said you made it for yourself, but when did you sell them, was sales more soft cover, hard cover (that may have been answered in the video), or Kindle version? Thanks again
I am from india.. Love to make my photo book... What may be cost for two copies? In how many days we get books??
Excellent. Thanks!
Specifically the K1000’s viewfinder has the best/simplest meter indicator with the +/- analog needle.
Can you mount the flash facing backwards to do bounceflash? Thx
Hi Jason, I'm hoping you can help as I am looking at using this template for my photography book but it also has text it is possible to add text to your template, please?
What type of filter is this? Just for protection? Thx
‘Snap focus’, is what a manufactures gives us instead of addressing some of the real issues with camera. Ricoh is similar to Apple. They keep giving us the sane thing year after year at a higher price 😅
While I agree that Ricoh has had ONE good model, and has just added more bells and whistles (most of which are pointless) when they should be concentrating on making it a better 'quality' camera with less plastic parts that go bad with heavy usage. But Ricoh sucks as a management company and does not look for innovation as much as money-grabbing gimmicks. Having said that, I think the SNAP FOCUS feature is THE main feature of this camera and I loved using it. Never having to think, never having to set focus, etc and just fly around with it and get great shots. I use film cameras also and use zone focusing a lot, but for people who aren't concerned with constant settings changes and just want to set the camera and go, it's one of a kind camera that no other can replicate ... yet. Give them their due for the Snap Focus, but as a company they suck ass for sure!
I missed the part of how you set the dial to 35 and 50mm
It's in there - no idea where but just go to button function settings and set on of them to allow you to change between 28, 35 and 50mm - fairly easy to do. Thanks!
Jason, hey, do you know if we can load two photos for the cover design? tks
Anyone is cool, to answer
You can customize the cover any way you want it. Regarding their templates, I'm not sure, but you can either use their provided cover templates or create your own and upload. Hope that helps.
Excellent video 😮!
8:23 that is what we're talking about! Flash made it great
Thank you so much, great explanation.I‘ve my Ricoh gr iiix for three weeks and still work on the settings.Greets from Germany
Enjoy my friend! It's a fun camera for sure!
I loved your photos! Not to mention your video. They have a Sharm to them. Much like the last gentlemen I too have an eye much like yours sir. I too see a nastalgia clash with the past and the present. Old structures still surviving in modern times. At times there is a chaotic clash where the past meets the present. I actually loved most of them and liked and felt that they were all interesting. I did also, liked your lens for this shoot sir. I just got to find one like it. I usually love prime lens' but, in this case I will make an exception. Thank you for sharing your time and photos with us all. God Bless you and yours, Roger.
Thanks Roger! I appreciate your comments. Regarding Prime lenses, they just don't work for me unless I'm shooting a specific subject/location. Most of my shooting involves both shooting out my car window, and jumping out to get a better angle, so a prime lens can cause major issues being too long or short. I almost ALWAYS prefer a less quality zoom over a better quality prime because it's more about the experience and capture than the actual final product.
@@DozierGraphic My Dear; Sir: I have never thought about like that. I wish I had had someone pointed that out to me before. With all my heart, I thank you for sharing that with me and for getting back to me. I'm getting my zoom lens. God Bless you and please, take care. Roger⛱
I think Amazon must have lowered their “premium” paper quality because I tried to make one of these and the print quality is no where near as nice and glossy as yours is in this video
The books are printed at different 'independent' printers (I believe) so it's possible to get a bad one or bad batch. In that case, you definitely contact Amazon and they will either reprint at no charge, refund, etc but you should expect PREMIUM paper when you pay for it. However, it also means a person can buy your book, get a bad copy and think it's suppose to be that way. It's not a perfect service, but I mainly use it for my own personal copies more than anything. But if I got a bad print, I'd get credit for it.
Gracias !! Thank you. Do you know how to turn it off ?
Using the second film and watching the video for second time. First film was loaded perfectly, but pulled the lever so hard on 33rd counter that film came out of the canister. It took me 3months to shoot that film
In that case, unless you've already handled it, you just take the camera to the shop and they'll retrieve it foryou. OR you go into the bathrrom. shut out all the light, open the camera, pull the film out and put it on the developing spool. If you usually send your film to be developed and don't hav ea local shop or do it yourself, not much I could suggest unfortunately. Let me know what you did with it.
Do they let you get the electronic photobook version without printing?
yes. It's the kindle version they offer - at no extra charge.
This is a really cool video, love hearing the thoughts as you’re shooting. Really cool shots too! I’m getting some delta for my travel film. Used Delta 400 before and loved it so looking forward to using 100
Thanks for the compliments! An excellent film and definitely a good one to take on vacation!
It’s what I use for everything from nature to sports. K-70
Really useful couple of videos. Thank you very much!
Sorry I’ll use my Sigma 18-250mm because I can’t afford that lens that you’re showing.
Thankyou for posting this I got mine today and I'm so used to digital I forgot how to load the film in one of these cameras 😊
How can dust get in the sensor if it's not an interchangeable lens?
Through the retractable barrel and some people even say that also through the microphone holes.
Still enjoying mine. And the Pentax lenses are great quality
Then what’s the point in getting the griii in the first place? Pockatability is paramount for whoever that own a Ricoh mate
Mine has been in my pocket every day for over two years. I am not careful with it. There is no dust in the censor.
Brilliant video for a newbie to Snap Focus. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
I just purchased a GRiiix with dust on the sensor. I deducted the sensor and all is well. Taped over microphones openings and added a filter over the lens to prevent additional dust on the sensor in the future. I see what you mean about the cheap ring. No problem now but how long will that continue? Thank you for the GRDigital video. I almost bought one not knowing what I was doing. I don’t think I’d have liked the 1/8” sensor. Trying to get used to the lack of EVF. Man I like those things. May buy a cheap plastic VF from China to help frame my images, especially during bright days. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Thanks for your thoughts my friend!
