Hoping to get a Black Friday deal on a 2024 Colorado WT, on the 29th of November 2024. Your video before this one was about the do's and don'ts of the 2.7L engines, Light duty, Medium Duty and a $200.00 upgrade to make a Heavy Duty. What pisses me off is when the Salesperson tells you that you can pull a trailer with the truck, then because I watched this video, I have to tell them I can't pull my tandem axle trailer with it loaded to capacity. The Trailer is 1500 pounds empty and the L2R paired with a AL45 Transmission will only pull a 3500 pound trailer. With that being said, I could only put a 2000 pound load on my trailer. The downloaded and printed window sticker I am looking at says Engine: 2.7L Turbomax. Does not show which engine unless the Turbomax is the L2R. The L3B Turbo Plus is Medium duty and with a $200.00 upgrade makes it a L3B HO Or heavy Duty. The L3B's will pull a 7700 pound trailer. What I don't like is all the "bling" crap that I don't think I'll need. Watched this video and the 24 looks about the same as the 23. This will be my 1st New truck as I have always bought used in 50 years. Compared to my daily driver a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 V6 5 speed with hand crank windows, (102,100 original miles) this Colorado is like an aircraft cockpit on rubber wheels! The 24 has features that come as a standard package that the 23 had as options. The truck I'm looking at is Priced at $35,100.00, 25% tariff on Canada, 25% tariff on Mexico and 10% on China is a total of 60%. so, who will buy the 2026 model with the added 60% Tariff which is an additional $21,060, total price $56,160.00? Probably 60k Plus.

My 2013 2.4 liter Equinox is quit a bit larger, without the complexity of a turbo, puts out about 190hp and gets 30 mpg hiway. Displacement still beats tiny X a turbo.

Provin L3 1999 5.7 , the last of the true sbc . 500,000 miles in a work truck . Technology downward trended after the L.S 5.3 vortec(2008) which was the last of the reliable truck engines.

Anyone have experience with turbo lag in the 3.3t engine? Is it really slow? I test drove a 2023 3.3T Prestige in AWD and was a little surprised by some of the turbo lag I experienced. Not sure if it is a normal experience for everyone else?

Haven’t seen my 2024 Colorado (1200 miles) in almost 2 months because of injector problems. Dealer has no clue when the new ones are coming in.

I don’t think anyone should wait 15,000 miles to do an oil change even if it does run half the time every time you start and stop you’re dumping gas into your oil carbon buildup plus if we bought this vehicle, we’re probably trying to get it to last 300,000 miles And if you want to last that long, you gotta do your maintenance intervals sooner

My 2001 Toyota Avalon had a six and 190 hp. 31 Mpg highway. All they do is cheapen the engine with gadgets and accomplished NADA, except giving you less for more. 😂

It's wrong engine which invites engine-related problems after a certain milage later. Not good.

People complaining about this engine, are the same ones who have never even driven one. Believing anything they see on the Internet, instead of giving a smart and intelligent opinion.

Throttle body (drive by wire) is located between plastic IC discharge tube and intake manifold, not before turbo inlet.

Wow. You could have done the exact same discussion 2 years ago on a 2020 Ford Escape. As you rightly mention, it shares the same platform. In fact, all the intake parts from the turbo to the intake manifold are the same PN as my 2020 Ford Escape Titanium.

I'm not sure how the 2.7L Turbo is doing in the Colorado and Canyon but this engine doesn't belong in the full size trucks/1500. I had one and I just traded it in. The GMC dealership I bought it from would give me top dollar for the truck because of the motor. I said; "It's your motor.". The truck just didn't have enough power and the gas mileage was horrible. The best I could get on a good day was 21 MPG. I don't care what the reviews say here on TH-cam, This engine is trash.

It took a year to replace the engine under warranty

That power seems low for a 4000 pound tow rating.
