A hybrid pickup with all wheel drive, and an option for towing to 4000 pounds. All, and it's one of the most affordable pickups on the market. Pound for pound, it's the best pickup out there
I put my order in a couple of weeks ago. Hybrid, awd, 4k tow package, luxury package. It'll replace 2 of my vehicles. All for about $36k. Can't wait to get it
The Maverick is one of the few American cars that showed some imagination. Personally I'm always a wait and see with new models or new refresh models, I hope they sell a ton of them and they are reliable. I'd like to see a refresh of the EcoBoost 2.0 (and all of them really)to combine port and direct injection like they did with the larger motors.
The 2025 civic hybrid has more torque and hp than 2025 ford maverick. I'll wait until ford decides to use a more powerful hybrid powertrain, hopefully that will be part of it's "planned obsolescence" for 2026
BACKUP. Lets talk about the existing AWD Maverick which comes in 3 flavors. Basic AWD FX4 AWD TREMOR AWD. Are all 3 of these the same AWD using the same rear Disengageable diff & same PTU up front? ALSO, Know this>>> The Maverick AWD CANNOT be towed. Not all 4 down nor with a tow dolly If disabled it must be taken to the shop on a flatbed, so forget about any dreams you might have about towing it behind your motorhome. Hybrid, YES. AWD NO. !
Tow ratings aren't at all about horsepower or torque. Ratings are about brakes, cooling, suspension and the ability of the drivetrain to endure the work without self destructing. Trucks in the 1970s and 1980s had much higher tow ratings with similar or less power.
Extremely nice drivetrain by Ford with the planetary gear set used for the transmission a much better system than a belt driven CVT. They could make a single cab version of the Maverick Hybrid at some stage with the ability to have an AWD driveline optioned. Whoever is running the styling department at Ford at the moment is certainly doing a good job with the current crop of Ford vehicle's very handsome indeed. Nice job Ford.... 😎🇦🇺👍
hmmm , almost no one likes the new front end on the 2025 Maverick, so that part at least is not a good job, also understand hvac and shifting controls are not loved.
A 2025 Maverick XL HEV w/AWD and 4K towing (which requires the Ford Co-Pilot 360) specs out at $32,345. The 2025 Maverick XL HEV without AWD specs out at $28,585 . That's just under $3800. Your 2023 Maverick was not $18,675.. #ApplesOranges
agreed this is good info but i would think they should have put an electric motor in the rear but pehaps need more batteries for that so it will come if/when a phev comes (want a phev w 4wd)
As shown in the video torque is a Ford stated 155 pound-feet which is identical to that of the FWD model. 0-60 numbers won't be available until the truck physically exists which it does not as of this video. You can look to all of the reviews and information on the FWD model for 0-60 and perhaps a half second to account for extra weight and drag.
@@TDTVGarageThat’s unfortunate. Was thinking with the extra motor in the back, the horsepower and torque would go up considerably and the 0 to 60 time down. Similar to how the rav4 hybrid awd is considerably quicker than the non hybrid rav4
I’m hearing it is not flat towable which is both surprising and disappointing, considering the escape awd hybrid is towable. Apparently they used the awd Maverick ecoboost parts not the awd hybrid escape parts.
@@nc3826 You’re out of your mind. The thought that the couple down the street or the majority of everyday people give a hoot whether or not their Maverick can be flat towed is absurd. Sure, some other capabilities, but flat towing? Nooo….get real.

Now all we need is a hybrid plug-in AWD and the Maverick would be absolute fire.

I hate the HVAC controls 😡
They updated the interior from the 1992 look to a 1996 look. It seems like they purposely made the controls look cheap and stupid

You can't math obviously.
Is the AC ran off the ICE or is it an electric compressor? I’m in south Texas. The AC cutting off when the ICE isn’t running isn’t an option.
The AC runs off the hybrid battery, it's electric. Full explain in our Hybrid 101 video.
should be adopting heat pump tech here but doubt they did.
