Is the water pump electric or belt driven?

Drove one and loved it. Wanted to buy one but than found out how expensive the oil (0W-8) is that it takes.

All new engines are going to full synthetic oils. It isn't really going to matter what you buy.

      @@TDTVGarage What????
..... "It isn't really going to matter what you buy." Are you saying what car you buy or what oil you buy? If your talking oil, then you are suggesting I can put any type of synthetic oil in??? That doesn't make sense.
I only found a couple places that sell 0W-8 oil. THIS IS the oil that the manual says is to be used in the Crown. Walmart and Amazon don't even sell 0W-8. It appears to be a rare commodity! I called the dealer where I was going to buy the Crown and they said it was $19.92 per quart. Changes require 4.5 quarts. That comes out to $89.64 just for the oil. (I didn't even check into what filters cost - I was done at that point.)
Loved the car when I drove it. It apparently isn't selling. Checked dealers in my area and the Limited edition is being discounted at many at just over 4K. That is a great discount.

We meant that synthetic oil in general is more expensive than conventional oil.

You never told us if it has a sealed tramission or not.

This is an overview, not a detailed service manual. Most automatic transmissions today are generally "sealed" and not intended by the manufacturers for owners to be monkeying with them. There are no dipsticks. This is common knowledge for the most part, thus we don't check that off as a discussion item in our overviews.

lol I own a crown platinum and it’s 0w-20 I’m dying seeing this thin oil even in the owners manual it’s says to use either 0w-16 or 0w-20 but after you pop the hood the sticker clearly says 0w-20 SAE. So who’s saying 0w-8 clearly wants you to break it and buy a new engine every start up way too thin to protect maybe good for fuel economy but not metal on metal contact. I’ve seen a 2024 Corolla with this 0w-8 and it’s cringe 😬

Sweetheart, don't be daft. it's been a couple months LOL. The vehicle hasn't even gone on the market yet. The engine is planned to be offered in future model years, not weeks or months silly.
