Hello Champ! I wanna start with telling ya that I love Your videos - I've learned a lot from them and I really enjoy them! I have a one question though - can You please tell me what happens when Grima is in play and Rohan is attacked in Fords of Isen? Rohan is not activated but it is still moving down on political track right? I couldnt find information on that and I just realised I played it wrong for all that time :|

How does FPP move Gondor toward war, without having activated them? 4:31

At 1:03:01 is it a legal move for the FPP to move the ring-bearers from Morannon to the Mordor track, even when the Ring-bearers are currently revealed? I always thought that the Ring-bearers needed for be Hidden in order to declare their next step - Just like when they declare anywhere outside of Mordor? Can someone clarify please?

I don’t think this victory should have been possible. How did you move an elven army across the Northern nation’s borders if they themselves weren’t at war yet? That would be a rule violation as I understand it.

You forget to mention that SP also puts the North very close to war by engaging that 1 regular and taking a deroute through the Shire. The north can then muster up and defend the remaining elven strongholds and also slow down your blitz-attack on Grey Havens. It's a solid counter move

Near the end of the game why reveal the fellowship on the mordor track when you draw a 2? You just have to hide again next round?

Shadows Gather from Folde to Lossarnach looks suspiciously inefficient. DA is 5 spaces away from where the WK was in Westement, if you go round the other way. Also, Considering Rohan and Gondor are contained, SP could probably just wait to Gather the WK to DA until after HD falls, and avoid the complication of losing Saruman to a double Ents, or having a hilariously bad round of combat in HD without reinforcements nearby.

Just had a turn 13 FPMV and the same exact thing happen to my FSP with Lome Balrog and WK!

25:25 once you're already in W Harrandor, it's honestly not worth using corsairs. Move back and corsairs is 2 dice while just attacking in is 3 dice, and you get Pelargir in the process. Maybe if Gondor isn't at war yet, but when they are, you're not getting around them mustering. It's much better as a reinforcement card or a deadly strife. 57:30 With Mithril, I'd rather risk moving this turn even with the risk of losing instantly, than risk not getting the movement needed. 3 movement plus extra for reveals next turn is just too likely to not happen, while Bilbos plus the blue tiles should get you across the line even if you have to use Mithril here. Pretty likely to roll a palantir so you get Bilbo for free next turn anyway, or you can spend a movement from next turn to Bilbo then instead of now. 60% of the time you get one step up without even needing to Mithril, and you only straight up lose 13% of the time, or about 1 in 8. With how it worked out, it didn't matter though of course. I'm not sure exactly when, but I do feel like it would have been worth playing more rohan cards earlier. Especially Eomer to make sure you could get both that and the movement from Westernmet in. If that random north muster at the start had gone to Rohan like you were talking about, Red Arrow could have pushed them all the way to war and pottentially gotten them causing some serious trouble too. This kind of situation is also why I like to move the Westernmet troops in a bit ahead of time when given the chance. I'd normally prioritize that over playing event cards with wills.

Total noob here, only played around four games, so who knows if this would be a good idea or not. I feel like that decision in turn three, to move that Sauron/Sarumon army from Dimrill Dale down south to Rohan might have messed things up for Romp? Lorien would have been easier to hold, and he could have called up more units to support the southern invasion from Isengard. But then Vayze could have fortified a region better, so who knows. Great game!

At 59:50 shouldn't there be used 8 dices? 5 eyes + (army & nazgul & stronghold controller by shadow)?

in 2:02: can You split from group all the companions using one die only? I though I have to pay for each separation from ANY group...

Hey man. Liking the overview. Quick question. You mentioned multiple times hiding the fellowship with the Palantir. I thought it was a character die that you had to use to hide. Am I missing a rule here? - Wait figured it out. Striders special ability.

I think Strider can only move 3 spaces, so I don’t think he could have made it to Fords of Isen from Hollin without help from an action card or having Gandalf in Fellowship @ 10:56 . Thanks for the great replay

This tournaments use expansions or its only the base game?

1:09:30 A unit of the nation not at war can actually retake an empty settlement captured by the opposing side. I was very much surprised when I learned this but it's Summer's judgement so I have no reason to doubt. They are moving within their own borders and not attacking, so neither political restriction affects this move.

I love when free people go ahead and try a military victory, it is hard but its nice and different

That's one of the most bonkers things I've ever seen.

At 1:00:27, Shadow uses their only muster die in Moria. This moment seems like a huge opportunity to take advantage of their bad dice. Can’t you just march your whole Lorien army straight down to orthanc? After you move into fangorn, they must use their only army due to move the helms deep siegers back to Fords of Isen. Then you can use your last army die to combine your Rohan and Lorien armies. Then you could use a ring to attack fords of isen, where you can fight til they retreat to orthanc. Next turn you can use any character or army die to start the orthanc siege before they get another action, and it’s tough to imagine how they stop you. Things worked out for you either way, but do you think this approach might have been better?

When that large FP army was in Pelargir, why did he not go south and try and take Umbar? The most you could have mustered in time was an elite ... that left Far Harad vulnerable and if he had been quick to take Angmar he could have won.

35:00 Book it into Mordor? Why? Yes, against one eye with several movement, they could make it. But they'd probably get hit once, if not twice, almost certainly taking a little bit more corruption. Even if not, they'd enter Mordor at +7 corruption. They'd be praying for healing cards and good luck. Makes sense to try to heal a bit in Minas Tirith.

Always go for Aragorn on turn 1 against more than one eye. Not because it's a winning move, but because the game is more fun and interesting that way.

Very funny! In a normal game, it'd be very suspicious indeed to continue to invest resources into corrupting the FSP after they've been left stranded outside Rivendell. A more reliable SP victory is possible by simply drawing Strategy cards from Morgul Wound and the rest, crushing the hope of the FP.

I can't believe you only got 2 hits from Candles of Corpses.
