If you had cruel weather, would you not wait for them to spend a ring and then play it? If you play it right away they would probably not waste a ring on the movement.
Generally yes, however in this case FSP was 2 steps from Mordor with only one movement die. If you wait on Cruel Weather, they spend a ring and get revealed, they are in Mordor and you cannot stop them anymore. If you use CW after their first (safe) move, they cannot possibly make it into Mordor anymore because they can, at most, get one more move but are still 2 steps out.
FP missed a good opportunity T6. Using that last M brings dwarves to war and then you free Erebor. FP then had plenty of time to unite together in the north for a doomstack. Retaking WLR was a potential at that point. Also, last turn, ents and gwahir was almost bulletproof hold for HD.
Great game! I've seen all of your videos, but it still amazes me how you're always able to play optimally and maximize your chances of victory. I know you said you don't care about the expansions, but I would love to see you play and analyze them!
Good to have the videos back. You have no idea how these brighten my day :) Wonderful game, and a nail-biter to the end. Games like this always make me realize its never too late to give up hope. A few good musters can really put you back in the game.
In 51:28 why eye tile takes 4 damage when theres only 2 eyes in hunt pool? Edit: Oh my god, i just lookup the rulebook - i played it wrong all that time! Im so happy that i still discover some little tweaks when watching Your games!
I swear there's always a 50% chance of random-ing into Strider. Not exaggerating, whenever I see a FSP of 5+ Companions take a random, it's Strider at least half the time.
I did a simulation once where I took something like 1000 random companions and tracked the results, and it turns out.... it's actually random. :) Everything was balanced as you would expect. It's just that our brains remember the times that Strider dies WAY better than the times when he lives. :)

Ents plus Gwaihir was definitely the thing to do.
I'm pretty new to WOTR, but @17:25 would it be possible to leave the muster of the WK for last action so that FP can't get the White until next turn?
GtW needs a minion to be mustered, and Saruman was already out so it didn't matter

This tournaments use expansions or its only the base game?
There are some tournaments that use the expansions, though the biggest tournament each year uses the base game, which is still plenty complicated! :)
