This scenario is why I usually use Breaking as either a 1 corruption once Gollum is guide, or as a combat card exclusively. The only other time I think its worth playing is if both Hobbits are out of the FSP already, so you can potentially turn a 2 into a 4 damage tile.
30:45 if it's a mistake to play Daylight because it's gonna fall anyway, I'd say that it's a mistake to play Deadly Strife too. DS is much better than whatever you get to draw in to, and it would be super useful in the other much harder sieges.
52:00 I would probably have played breaking. I'd have gone for getting the mouth by attacking Dale-> Erebor with C and East Rhun -> Iron Hills with A, effectively refunding the A thanks to mouth. 2 musters to get mouth and play Fighting Uruk-Hai, playing Olog-Hai for the combat card effect instead. 1.67 expected hits on them is worth more than 2 extra HP, and you still have Dread and Despair if things go horribly wrong.
Last muster would go to getting an elite in Orthanc to give me the tempo needed to get enough hitpoints in there before FP can go GTW->ents with me only getting 1 action in between, which leaves 2 palantirs and a C. First Palantir would go to Nazgul Strike if needed, then second to breaking. It does make it more likely for them to get in, but it's not likely to make a massive difference. It's only likely to be relevant for the next tile or 2, then they'll be on Gollum anyway, and if that 3 had popped up on a regular movement instead the ONLY numbered tile that would still reveal them for the draw after that would be the 0.
If Nazgul Strike isn't needed, I probably play Shadows on the Misty Mountains, preparing to either go to Rivendell or 4 cities. Taking out Lorien will either be easy if they choose not to downgrade elites there, or it'll empty out their remaining reinforcements if they do.
Last C goes to either attacking Lorien (if Nazgul Strike allowed me to move Nazgul there), or cleaning up Rohan. Possibly just moving Nazgul to Lorien the hard way.
1:00:00 Because of the ability to bring GTW into Lorien, it would probably have been better to bring Mouth into Dol Guldur and move him to Lorien while supporting the Southrons with Nazgul instead. It'd also be closer to Dew for the same reason, and still close enough to pivot down to MT if needed.

Definitely agree playing Breaking was a mistake. As well as the factors you mention you also give them a free separate of the Hobbits to go cause problems as additional Companions. If you keep Breaking till they are in Mordor you can still do the Corruption damage without giving them free separates.

Congrats Ira! I wonder if you could just play WWSAT right away before FSP moves ... its an extra card filched ... they were surely not going to not move that turn? And if you prevented 2 moves with WWSAT you're happy anyway ;)

Yeah, I wouldn't have played Breaking there. I would have used those two swords to conquer the rest of Rohan.

Why have you decided not to play WWSAT as your first action? RompSteel had 2 Cs so obviously he wouldn’t like to not move in order to declare in Rivendell next turn to get rid of it. And if he did, man, would you be happy :)
