I like and respect Fluke meters. I HAVE NOT owned a contemporary Klein meter. I do have one of Klein’s clamp-meters,which is a veritable work horse. I’m prejudiced in that my 2nd all-time favorite meter is the obsolete Fluke 189. That said, Fluke meters ARE the all-time most ROBUST meters I’ve ever used! It would be EXCELLENT if your Klein vs Fluke tests included some robustness testing, including over voltage immunity, transient resistance, and other general robustness characteristics. Accuracy is expected in this price range. Robustness, on the other hand, is a crap shoot! Observing apparent build quality is not a guarantee of robustness. Those observations can be telling, but they ARE NOT THE WHOLE STORY. Take a look at Joe Smith’s excellent test procedures found on Joe’s channel: @joesmith-je3tq Joe’s tests have shown disappointing results of poor robustness in some otherwise very attractive meters. I think the Fluke 189 and Breyman 869s are the two most robust meters he’s tested, with several models of Fluke (including the 87-V) and Brymen meters becoming the robustness champions. Perhaps you can persuade Joe to torture test the MM700. Keep up the good work!

I have the mct and was thinking of the pro pac backpack but i think this is better right? I think it wouldnbe heavy as a back pack and the lay out of this one is much better

Amazon has fake Klein and third party sellers. Klein doesn’t warranty any of their tools bought from Amazon bc they aren’t quality controlled compared to the ones sold in stores.

Can you replace the die set with barrel specific dies or is that even necessary?

How is it holding up?

I like the backpack tool bags but none of them have hammer loops inside the main compartment.

The hook is for hoisting the bag up with a rope.

Love this bag, got it about 18months ago, couldn't gel with it but then I got rid of the caddy and it's a whole new bag, so much room. Keep all my hand tools, drill and impact in there, also I use the drinks bottle pocket to hold my 600mm level, using the tape loop to secure round it, or sometimes a map gas bottle. It's also very comfortable to wear, although watch out for stairs, you will feel every pound.

You need to strip the wire back before you push the wire into the crimp.

It's an excellent knife and like you said it's not really a primary tool, but can help you get unstuck when you find yourself "tool-less"... I was surprised with how sharp it is, especially with it's affordable cost.

I just started studying to become an electrician and got this plier (the spring version) and it is absolutely wonderful. The only thing I dont like is the crimper, the handles are not long enough to achieve the required force to make a secure conection. Everything else is 100% perfect german engineering. The 1000V handle is soooo confortable, the isolation strippers are so quick and reliable to use. But man, the shears are something of another world. The way it cut thick wire like is nothing, doesnt feel right, Is like you have cheats on. Knipex and Wera make such amazing tools

I just purchased a set of dies for my Klein 3005cr that crimps copper open barrel 10-20AWG ferrules, there are many other dies that can be installed into the tool so the 3005cr has a multitude of crimp sizes available for both insulated and non-insulated terminals. My 5 years old knows that you have to take the insulation off from the wire before you put ferule or any type of connector on it 🙄.

It's true, Bahco really manufactures this adjustable wrench for Snap-On on the same factory they did their own, in a factory that belongs to SNA Europe, in Spain. There's a video here in TH-cam that shows briefly the manufacturing process of this wrench and they show the Snap-on variant as well. The only difference is that the Snap-on's are all about branding and cosmetics, they are perfectly polished and chromed, with a red handle. While the Bahco are a little roughly finished. But the price difference between them is huge, about triple the price or even more, for the exact same overall quality standards. I've bought some Bahco's ratchets too, they have the excellent Dual 80 mechanism of the Snap On ratchets, the ratchet internals are the same. Another brand that belongs to Snap-On and costs much less is Williams, their industrial focused brand. The only Snap On tool that I would buy is the LN47ACF pliers, because Knipex has nothing similar in their catalog.

I am a fan of Klein Tools. What I find very odd and disappointing is that I just went to Harbor Freight yesterday and purchased what appears to be the exact same tool. The only difference I can see is the brand name. Klein is a renowned tool brand. However, if I were to place mine next to these and cover up the brand name on both, you wouldn’t even know the difference. They’re a “Doyle” tool brand name. I am talking about right down to the colors, the same rubberized grips, even the design on the grips are the same. I just find it disappointing that these tools have very suspiciously exact features, design and everything else.

A cheap tool will get the job done indeed (99% of the time) but the time it saves you using professional tools is priceless. I am a diy-guy, I just use my tools for repairmants, maintenance and stuff like that for my flats (that I rent) and for my home, my parrents, etc. I had cheap pliars, cheap screwdrivers, cheap drills, cheap everything.... and it worked until one time a cheap angle grinder gave up without any reason while cutting thin metal (with huge breaks for welding, polishing, etc with other cheap grinders), a fosset broke and I had HUGE problems greaping the pipes with my cheap pliers and so on. I got my hand on some Knipex pliers and it was love at first sight. I am currently upgrading all my pliers to Knipex and bought some new ones (the twingrip, cobolt, etc.. around 20 Knipex pieces so far). Got myself those Wera Kraftform Kompakt with mounting blades (like yours) and felt inlove with Wera. Upgrading currently ALL my screwdrivers to Wera (packages on their way as I write). Can't imagine how those laser cut heads will be if this normal ones grip so well the screws. I am upgrading all screw drivers except for the chisel type ones those I will keep cheap.... really don't see the point to spend 30-40€ on something you hit with a hammer... Most of my power tools are upgraded (from Einhell (brushless) and Parkside (mostly Performance) to Makita LXT, DeWalt 12V and Bosch (and want to buy some more). The only ones that won't be upgraded are the tools that are hardly ever used (some of them brend new in the box for years now). My point is: Ofcourse any person buys whatever he can afford when he can but in my opinion if you can (and time allows it) better save up for a professional tool than to buy a cheap one. You'll end up like me with doubled and tripled tools on whom you've spent a lot of money and just realize at some point "f*** it, my time is more important I can do this a lot easier with that, Knipex, Makita, Wera, etc (pro tool) then with my toy". + there is a higher risk of breaking without knotice situation with cheap tools and then you can be left on site without any tool and if when you send it to the warranty (if it has one) you'll remain without the tool + the risk of the response from the service "you've used a hobby tool for professional jobs" as it happens sometimes in my country.

The Klein Bearing Assisted Pocket Knife is a beautiful knife that's extremely sharp. I bought one a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it. I'm buying a 2nd one, so I have a backup.

This Klein bag is good just above HUSKY which is good also, HOWEVER, compared to a VETO or VELOCITY brand its a 2 out of 10, KEEP that in mind!
