So much more information than the Klein TH-cam video and the instructions included with the tool. THANK YOU!

Quite a versatile unit really. Does it detect when placed next to a computer? My Whia unit starts to pickup when it is about 18 cm from my MacBook. They are good for using alongside a voltage tester for testing for dead in scenarios where the neutral-earth connection could be lost that would cause a two pronged voltage tester to not detect the voltage. Other than that great for broken wire detection.

thx for info. Idk why I thought non-contact meant that you could get a read of the voltage from a decent distance, but I suppose it's more accurate to say it doesn't need direct contact with the conductor, but as demonstrated is still in direct contact with insulating material. I'd like to know more about scenarios where to use a NCVT vs a voltage tester...off to watch more vids.

A voltage meter is useful if the contacts are accessible i.e. in a socket, outlet or bare wires. A NCV is useful in the middle of cable runs such as Romex in the attic...

I really like mine , I like the low voltage function , the LDM function is quite nice . I’ve tested out to 50’ ( Bosch as a control ) . I tested the low voltage against my Fluke , Fluke detects , but doesn’t differentiate ! So far , I’m happy ! That comming from a died in the wool Fluke junky !

I have two Klein NCVT units and I must admit, not bad, also have a Greenlee unit, I am considering the model you are reviewing here but 92 squids ?
It is available on Amazon for £69.98 on Amazon if one looks deeper.
Bit of info for you, fire alarm voltages (other than mains feeds) are not classed as low voltage, up to 50 VAC and 120 VDC are ELV (extra low voltage) your mains input voltage is LOW voltage , 230 VAC nominal., with tolerances....+6% -10%
One thing is for sure, you mention high voltage, not quite sure how it indicates a high voltage , than mains is 'low voltage'...you won't encounter that in your role for sure as it is 1000 Volts or 1KV and that device has sensituvity up tp 1000 volts. What is the accuracy of the laser measuring function ? I can see tha could be handy when ordering access equipment, I have gone to a number of jobs at night and many miles away only to find someone has ordered the wrong access equipment, fortunately I got paid for revisits.
