Anyone know how to change the 4 cylinder to 6 if possible at all? I’ve got a vr6 in my mk3.5 still running the original clocks so rev counter doesn’t work properly.

I just love your channel and I’ve had the Mk1 & the Mk3 cabriolet and now have the 3.5 Avantgarde, but always been lucky with VW cabriolets as my beautiful low mileage rust free 3.5 only cost me £250 and all it needed was a new battery and crank sensor. I’ve just bought a new old stock Stainless Peco back box off marketplace and wondered does the rear bumper need trimming back for the larger exhaust tip.

Had an 8v when they were new. Press at the time clocked it at 9.9. It was a slow car with a horrible gearbox. VR6 that followed it was much better but terrible roll around corners.

I've got some knowledge to tell you no one knows this parable that I'm going to tell you but you have made yourself a map. Normally I say the mk3 is the worst looking vw jetta/golf around But this one in that color with those mild mods on it make it better looking than I’ve seen before, almost makes me appreciate it a bit If you don’t like the single oval tip, just go to an exhaust shop and have them put on a double tip, I used to have a mk4 that the flex pipe broke on it, didn’t fix it for a year because it made the exhaust sound almost exactly like your upgrade did 1 pops and bangs here n there but otherwise no real power difference. I sold the car and the new owner replaced the exhaust at a shop and they put on a single tip generic muffler. He ended up cutting the muffler off after about a week because he also like the sound but hated the single tip. That double tip although not different at all performance wise, makes it look nicer than it is. Adds to the sportiness that is accentuated by the vents you added at the front, the steering wheel, the wind deflector, the lights, it all adds together to make it look sporty and sleek even tho it’s only barely going to get out of its own way

Enjoying this budget build series man. I used to see your Variant driving around notts a couple of years ago on my way in to work. You’ve probably seen me in my “50 shades of black” GTI with some horrible green Mercedes 8 hole wheels on it back then 😂 Currently chipping away at getting it back on the road after 18 months of it sitting doing nothing. Hopefully early next month if the MOT tester doesn’t find any more big problems for me to fix!

I've deleted my Facebook and tiktok it's so depressing everything was about that singer that was high on drugs and alcohol that jumped. Great video but what you said at the beginning about the MOT charges if it fails isn’t correct. If your car fails and you leave it at the garage for them to fix then there is no retest charge, if you take it away then you have 10 days to fix it and take it back and normally then you would be charged a partial retest fee, normally have the price of the full MOT price, and like you say after 10 days it’s a full retest at full charge. All this of course is unless you are best mates with the garage!!!! Great video though as I said though I’m enjoying this series

The RENOVO soft top roof restore kit is a very worthwhile thing to do. I used it on both a Mk3 Golf Cab and a E36 convertible roof. The black dye is the best on the market, trust me I tried a few brands. The RENOVO black dye turned my blue E36 roof jet black and it remained black. Also the sealant is amazing for beading and waterproofing the roof. Basically Clean, dye and Seal and the roof will be protected for years.

When it comes to floors and rust, it depends how bad it is but it probably can be fixed, mine was insanely bad and now it’s brand new, websites sell floor pans/rockers, it’s just knowing how to weld
