Enjoying this budget build series man. I used to see your Variant driving around notts a couple of years ago on my way in to work. You’ve probably seen me in my “50 shades of black” GTI with some horrible green Mercedes 8 hole wheels on it back then 😂 Currently chipping away at getting it back on the road after 18 months of it sitting doing nothing. Hopefully early next month if the MOT tester doesn’t find any more big problems for me to fix!
I really like the shades over the intakes keeps it all one look across the intake and indicators imo. Awesome fun little video of not too much power gains deffo gave you plenty more smiles per mile. If there are any little bits that there's files for online I'll run you some 3D prints if there a few more fun cheap mods 👍🏻
Nice Video! I like the shades on the air vents and indicator. What I noticed as you took of the oem airbox, there is a little snorkel on the front. You can get rid of it, use the oem airbox with a filter mat and have almost the same sound as with the open filter. But it is not feeding hot air into the engine. Cheapes sound mod ever, always did that on my cars first.

I got a set of TA coilovers on my MK3 Variant way back, they were horrible initially, but after couple of months of driving the ride became pretty decent. Seems to be a pattern for most cheap coilovers .
That bracket is there not to catch the exhaust if it breaks breaks. It's there as chassis stiffening like a mini strut brace so make sure you put it back . My mk3 Focus ST has them.
I always liked the Look of the Mk3, especially with Morettes, but they were all so slow. I owned a 1993 VR6 5 door and it was a quick VR6, sounded nice but my Renault 19 16V chamade blew the VR6s doors off.
I never knew about that rev option on the mk3 golf i wonder if the same feature is on the passat b3 and b4 as the passat b3 was used to develop the mk3 golf
Not really, if you want to keep the airbox you can do the "cheeseblock" mod by drilling holes in the side of the box you don't see. You'll get the noise but keep the original box
It would probably give better performance if u used stock air filter box with better filter inside and would make hole for those went hose from bumber. Might be wrong, might be right

Im not a fan of the shades and i wouldn't have put the induction on. Think i would have drilled out the bottom of the oem box. But love mk3's so any mk3 content is good content so keep at it.

It's worth trying, but has to have mfa for it to work
@Project7YT the Passat b3 does have mfa but it looks similar to mk2 golf setup
I'm almost certain b4 has it 🤔 as they upgraded the stalks which is what's in the mk3 golf
I have no idea about passats so I can't help much

Not really, if you want to keep the airbox you can do the "cheeseblock" mod by drilling holes in the side of the box you don't see. You'll get the noise but keep the original box
