The dash looks amazing, me personally I would do a black steering wheel just for a bit of contrast and maybe a grey racing line/ centre line on the wheel

Nice project, good to see the MK2 getting some attention.
Your interior work is involved yet subtle, there's a definite retro vibe to the material choice yet still brings an updated, not modern finish.
Unfortunately the same can't be said for those Chinesium headlights that clash with the other exterior period correct additions.
Overall, impressive work....and I love your tissue dust mask nostril plugs.

Really nice car. What's missing here apart from an engine swap is some wind deflectors. I think it would complete the sick look of the car with the LED front ligts, the body kit and the wheels
It was pn the list earlier on but I think it looked less busy on the outside. Maybe I'll try them and see

I suggest get another project car to refresh. Then later down the line swap the engine or drive train on one of the projects. That way you can enjoy them and then decide which needs a swap

Nice easy 16v on carbs/ITB’s would be very nice in that. Swapped out my 1.6 for a 16v on twin 45’s in 2020 and it was great fun and sounded great. Done for just over £1000 and in a week.

Thanks dude.. if you think in the life of youtube everything is fast moving, If I commit to an engine swap it would take some time to source and install, in that time I wouldn't be uploading any footage or I can still upload with a project car and do the engine swap down the line reviving life in an old project

There is a guy on TH-cam from Texas (Korosumyself) who gets Japanese cars from scrapyards and rebuilds them with parts from scrapyards. I'd be curious to see what you come up with in the UK using VWs.
I came across his stuff definitely worth considering!
I'd do the engine swap later down the road and enjoy the car as it is for a bit. In the meantime, I think you should get another Mk3 project.

Great content, am glad you did the heater matrix job, it’s horrible but definitely worth it on dash removal 👍🏼 engine swap, I’d look for bargains around, plenty out there, scrapyard challenge would be EPIC 😊
As for the dash, having seen it in the flesh it’s a work of art, the level of work that’s gone into that is crazy

Personally I have my mk3 project/show car that I’m never gunna sell because of the sentimental value and resto work I’ve done , and that the car is associated with me. I would love to get another project and cycle through other cars, but I’ll always have the mk3 that I’ll never sell. Maybe keep the mk2 as the show car and get another project idk it’s up to you

@@Project7YT I would buy one from you, its an idea for you to play with. they are very popular in the southern states in trucks like my '93 Chevy c1500, the entire dash is so brittle and the sun damage we get in North America is a problem

I would also add led lights into the bumper indicators. Now the bumper indicators fade in and out when blinking, however the indicators in the headlights are immediately on/off and to me this makes it look they don't lighr up together. I like the style of these headlights tho!

Hi Lewis, I love a scrap yard mooch and the idea of a scrap yard challenge. I think you could really get a following breathing life into a forgotten oldie. The only thing i would say and please take this as constructive and not a b1tch please can you work on your camera skills. You do awesome cinematics and static camera shots, but the hand-held stuff is making me a bit motion sick and over familiar with looking up your nose. I only say this because I want you to do well.
I'd love to do it.. yeah I saw it watching back problem is I need a new lens and they ain't cheap but I'll try to be more stable
