Very informative video...but also a super-scary one, regarding your gloved hands around a spinning 5"-chuck with a 1HP-motor.

unfortunately they do not provide technical support.they do not show a way for cnc conversion.they have no idea how to connect the product they sell to the control unit of the cnc servo motor and driver of the cnc servo motor and driver or to the mach3 card or to a vfd driver.they only sell the product and do nothing else.this is not trade.not nice.this video does not give any information about the wiring diagram of the additional box or how it can be connected.

I just got a 7x14, specifically to learn how to use one and maintain it. It didn't come with any meaningful documentation, for a start, so I have been watching videos for three days now. Using the crank to control travel, it binds and doesn't move freely. I'll have to fix that before I can do anything else. On the tool mount, the micrometers have 20 thousandths movement between gripping for in vs out when setting distance. I'm no machinist, but I know enough to realize that's not allowable if you're trying to do anything but play around with. The tools that came with it are comically large, to my eyes. Haven't even gotten to the point of powering it up yet because I'm trying to figure out all the things I need to check before I start running it. I'm told a quick release tool holder will help with the height issue because there's better adjustment available. Maybe later...

For your information aluminum is metal.

I put a taper bearing in the front and an angular contact bearing in the back. There is a nice shoulder in the front that you can pull and proload against. Angular on the back keeps the size overall very similar and works perfectly.

At 26:00 that gear box can be purchased on amazon pricey at $220. I just made that purchase and will be installing it soon as it comes from china. What's the biggest motor upgrade that can be installed on that machine?

are the motor drives capable to work with cnc software to controls the spindle speed?

typically you do not run it. you turn it by hand to check the run out and you can leave it jsut slight snug and use a mallet to gently tap it to correct alignment and then tighten. bore is suppsoed to be 38mm, but the quality may not be there. you may have to take the housing with the spindel the a machien shop and hve them punch it out to the correct sizing.

the lead screw ontheser have a crappy design. i am going to be switching to an TR16 and make a new half nut for it. i have upgraded the bushings on both ends to be bearings. once I get me bed leveled from a machine shop with a surface grinder I will start doing re-assembly work and doing work to stiffen the bed to remove rear flex that are common to be seen on these lathes.

The spindle bore is probably 37 mm which is close to 1 7/16"
