  • Looking at one of our upgraded machines: The Client is complaining that his Grizzly G8689 Mini Milling Machine has no power. Asking about cost he determined it was just too costly to buy the complete kit. Especially since he already converted his machine with a belt drive from the Little Machine shop. After explaining the complete conversion, I looked at his machine and spotted the after market drive. Figuring it would be easier to fit his drive I asked him to bring it over. We agreed on a fix as seen in the video.
    Although the little machine shop belt drive cannot perform as good as a timing belt, it actually performed well. Make sure you adjust it tight.
    The motor, pulley and belts used in the video are available here:
    www.servomotor....
    The motor, pulley and belt for the 1 to 1 ratio will be listed soon.
    I have this in hand, contact me on servomotorkit.com if you want to invent it.
    To see all our mods or present your own and bring it to market, start here:

    Just installed my kit tonight ! Less then 10 minutes and it was on. The motor the mill should have come with!

    How have I not run across this channel/site before? Or rather, where were you when I needed you? Wish I'd known about your kits earlier. But it's bookmarked for the future, and I enjoyed this.

      Dave, didn't you build your own mount and drive?
      Glad you are happy with the motor performance.

    I bought the 900w motor and controller from you recently. Can't wait to see just how well it will work on a similar size mill.

    Great addition for the mini mill I have the LMS X2D mill with the belt drive going to buy one of you upgrades. Did you ever think about making lathe kit for the older Atlas lathes I would be interested in one.

      Bob.
      Your order is built. tracking will show in your inbox today. As for the Atlas lathe: There are a lot out there and I have received several requests. I just do not have time to create a new kit. Would you be interested in designing it? When done I can wholesale you motors. I can also place your system on my site for free. As long as you keep your quality/reputation up and manage all your orders, it's free to list it. Contact me direct with the info in your order if interested in marketing your own designs.
      Thanks
      Dan

    I have a little machine shop milling machine. Would your motor fit, to get more torque and more rpm.

    Do any of your controllers and motors have instant reversing capability?

      @danielmartin382  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Instant reverse is now provided with most systems.

    are the motor drives capable to work with cnc software to controls the spindle speed?

    • @danielmartin382
      @danielmartin382  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The new 2024 controller uses standard 0 to 5 V speed control and simple on/off switches. FWD/REV, start/stop and speed can be controlled but you must use an isolation board.
      Also there are no plugs for this. You would have to tap the actual wires inside the controller. We will release a CNC version in the near future.

    all motor parts out of stock!!

      I am sorry but all 50 of the 750 watt versions are sold out. ETA of the required parts to build more is August 27, 2024.
      I did build one 900 watt version but top speeds are limited by the larger magnets. I am redesigning it with a 1 to 1 ratio right now.
      It should be released in about five days. 1 to 1 means the digital display will be accurate to the actual spindle speeds.
      The extra torque will compensate for the 1 to 1 ratio. Expected spindle speeds are 200 to 3,400 RPM.

    hey can you explain me why servo motors work for milling machines and lathes and not for drill presses?? thnx in advance!

    • @danielmartin382
      @danielmartin382  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They can be used in a drill press. I have many customers who have done this and they are very happy with the end results.
      The problem is customer abuse and my attitude because of it.
      What happens is all of a sudden the drill press has much more capability than it is stable enough to support.
      The customer realizes this and starts using his drill press to perform jobs that require better tooling. After jamming his machine repeatedly, he/she smokes a mosfet.
      Rather than saying oops, I smoked it and can you get me running again for cheap ($5 part):
      The customer takes zero responsibility for their actions; lies or actually believes that I sold them a defective product.
      They force a return/refund. This costs me between $100 and $400!
      When the parts return, it is obvious what happened.
      See how to fix it here: th-cam.com/video/u9v_Uzo8a7o/w-d-xo.html

    Very good video, will the motor work on a wen 33013 mill?

    • @danielmartin382
      @danielmartin382  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As long as you have the LMS adapter already it will fit. That and the new motor can be fit without drilling the LMS plate. Simply file the holes a bit to match the second bolt circle on the motor. By the way, this system is currently being updated to include a power tap function.

    Hey quick question for you will this upgrade work on a micromark mini mill? I've purchased from you in the past for my mini lathe. Thanks

    • @danielmartin382
      @danielmartin382  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is not that simple. Does your mull have the LMS kit already?
      Send me pictures

    • @velcrodreams178
      @velcrodreams178 ปีที่แล้ว

      @danielmartin382 hey thanks for replying. No LMS kit. It's got a 500 watt brushless on it. I did no mods other than the dro kit and a tach. The 1 hp servo sounds good little extra power. But I should look into that to see if that LMS kit fits on there

    • @danielmartin382
      @danielmartin382  ปีที่แล้ว

      actually you should bypass the LMS kit and do it right. The video here shows the real kit on the other mini mill near the beginning. The gray one.
      It's much harder to make but the end result is outstanding. The cost is about the same because the LMS kit is over $200 + my motor kit $200+ more.
      Since you do nt already have the LMS kit, see the complete kit here:
