    1400 Kw with a 120 Kwh battery (300 Ah at 400 V) is ( 60x120 ) : 1400 = 5,14 min. at peak power...1400 kw at 400V = 3500 A.. To comparison if you smoke e-cigatetes.3500A at 400V would be 35A at 4V. Or 140W..Not healthy for you or the battery..🥵

    How does it pull off those numbers The number ain't adding up if it was 503hp and should only be hitting 0-60 around 3.5-3.7 secs. Would BMW really list power at 503hp but real power is 680hp to pull off a 0-60 time at 2.8 secs?

    This video was fascinating! I thought I knew everything there is to know about fuel and tire characteristics, but I've learned so much from this. My favorite part was how the nitromethane despite packing less energy per kg than gasoline, it gives better performance because significantly more of it may be used due to the reduced oxygen needs.

    alfa ET is pretty accurate but trap speed is a bit slower than the magazines report. maybe the engine is underrated.

    Torque has been directly measured, quite a number of years ago. Explained in a 1:30 long video. th-cam.com/video/t5tptWVwzOA/w-d-xo.html Here is a graph of one run from the torque measuring equipment. Pretty interesting for sure. st.hotrod.com/uploads/sites/21/2015/12/002-Top-Fuel-Horse-Power-.jpg Typically peak acceleration actually comes pretty far into the run when the clutch locks up and is no longer slipping. The run goes like this: big acceleration....accelerating still but falling off...clutch begins to lock up and then locks up....acceleration picks up again. I believe that they are restricted to 7,900 rpm by the top fuel rule book.

    This is very very inaccurate Regera did 1/4 mile in 9.8 seconds in thier world record Vbox run and fastest 0-400 km/h While Plaid runs the same times but the best time is 9.2 seconds

    Great video! It inspired me to perform a thought problem. I'm going to use metric units because I am woefully tired of the imperial system. Assume a truck initially traveling 100 km/hr approaches a 1500 m elevation change via a 5% grade. The truck only applies the torque necessary to overcome rolling and air resistance till it slows to 50 km/hr. The 5% grade provides an acceleration to slow the truck of .49 m/s^2. It will take the truck 28 seconds to slow to 50 km/hr. It will have climbed 30 meters, or 2% of the climb, before the climbing force need to be applied. If the similar operation is performed on the down slope to recover the kinetic energy and additional 2% of the climbing energy will be converted without loss. Obviously, the percentage of energy saved increases proportional to the reduction of the vertical climb. For example, a 300 meter climb would require only 80% of the climbing energy be subject to the electrical losses of the vehicle. If the efficiency for both motoring and regen are 90% as used in the video, the 300-meter climb and descent would suffer only 17% loss of the change of potential energy rather than the 21% ((1/0.9-1)+0.1) if no change of speed is encountered during the climb. Since 300 meters is still a large climb this demonstrates that it is within the driver's ability to manage the severity of the losses due to hilly terrain if range is going to be an issue. The fancy torque requirements entering and leaving the grades are a nicety to not have to think about rolling resistance and drag. The point is permitting the truck to slow and accelerate at the base of the slopes is an energy-saving maneuver. Charging over at constant speed is likely more fun if range is not an issue.

    The Revera has slightly better performance at super high speeds that normal roads cannot support. The Nevera has far more usable performance in a speed range where you could enjoy that power far more often. The Gemera has the best of both worlds, and you could bring friends along for the ride.

    Most important part is the cooling, so far Rimac didn't show the car being pushed for more than 2 minutes. Their cooling solution is better than the Taycan but they need 5 cooling systems for the car while Tesla used 1 in a Plaid thanks to octovalve (hence 2250kg Model S with more space than a Skoda Superb, 2300kg largest carbon monocoque in the world for Nevera). Nevera was recently spotted at the ring again and I hope that everything goes well, there's a reason why Plaid holds the record for electric cars on the Ring and why Lucid for example didn't even try that track and they sticked to Goodwood and basic acceleration tests...

      No need to apologize. What Rimac clip are you referring to? Of course I think they are focused on driving dynamics, but how could you not think one of their primary goals was power and acceleration? They sacrificed a lot of weight for a massive battery with an absurd power output

    This is the fakest shit. The SSC Tuatara runs a 7.9 1/4, the Rimac runs an 8.5. Rimac goes 258, SSC Tuatara goes 330. Rimac 2.4mil, SSC Tuatara 1.6. Rimac is dog shit (as are all EVs) and this is the base SSC Tuatara, the striker will be even faster All this and they both get smoked by many of the Underground lambos or Nth moto Vipers. For 1/4 of the cost.

    The 10 or 15% increase in battery performance is not because they are choosing the best cells but due to the liquid cooling that allows them to push the cells a bit more on discharge. The figures on the website are for uncooled dry cells

      One thing you are not realizing is that the Rimac is a hypercar with compromise, putting the battery under the floor would increase the h-point of the driver which in turn would increase the height of the car and then the car wouldn't look like a hypercar anymore.
