- Deliveries of the all-electric Rimac Nevera hypercar are happening now, so we decide to deep-dive into the battery pack to see how it makes 1.4 Megawatts of power! We start at a cell level to understand the 21700 cells that go into this beast, and then work our way up to assembly, and final configuration. Follow along to learn about the Rimac Nevera and how powerful EV batteries work.

What do you think of the Rimac Nevera battery pack?
One thing you are not realizing is that the Rimac is a hypercar with compromise, putting the battery under the floor would increase the h-point of the driver which in turn would increase the height of the car and then the car wouldn't look like a hypercar anymore.
Easy at $2.2m and 150 production run.
The 10 or 15% increase in battery performance is not because they are choosing the best cells but due to the liquid cooling that allows them to push the cells a bit more on discharge.
The figures on the website are for uncooled dry cells
Thanks for clarifying! I talked about cooling a bit throughout the video, but totally forgot to bring it up when discussing cell performance.
your the goat, so underrated aswell. please more vids my man!!!
Very cool!
Glad you enjoyed!
Really great video, enjoyed this one. Looking forward to more stuff like this
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing you have went into reverse engineering and discovering all the numbers
I always wanted to do that but was lazy about it so thank you for the info
Cheers
Most important part is the cooling, so far Rimac didn't show the car being pushed for more than 2 minutes. Their cooling solution is better than the Taycan but they need 5 cooling systems for the car while Tesla used 1 in a Plaid thanks to octovalve (hence 2250kg Model S with more space than a Skoda Superb, 2300kg largest carbon monocoque in the world for Nevera). Nevera was recently spotted at the ring again and I hope that everything goes well, there's a reason why Plaid holds the record for electric cars on the Ring and why Lucid for example didn't even try that track and they sticked to Goodwood and basic acceleration tests...
1:48 I think you meant MW, not mW on your visual!
Five minute battery life flat out could still be a pain though...
are you sure it would make more sense to use a scateboard design for the battery pack since the driver cant sit that low because of it and the car in general has to be higher imo?
It gives capacity. Powertrain gives 2000 hp
Is there a way to make the powetrain more powerful?
There is, I guess.
Software & hardware hacking. Amps, voltage and discharging speed increase
1400 Kw with a 120 Kwh battery (300 Ah at 400 V) is ( 60x120 ) : 1400 = 5,14 min. at peak power...1400 kw at 400V = 3500 A.. To comparison if you smoke e-cigatetes.3500A at 400V would be 35A at 4V. Or 140W..Not healthy for you or the battery..🥵
If you think Rimac build a car just cuz it wants to go fast, have you ever watch Rimac clip... Do you realy think they didn't try to chose wich option is the best, for the car they wanted to build... I think you realy don't understand cars, I'm sorry
No need to apologize. What Rimac clip are you referring to? Of course I think they are focused on driving dynamics, but how could you not think one of their primary goals was power and acceleration? They sacrificed a lot of weight for a massive battery with an absurd power output
