Doesn't the Rimac run low 8's in the 1/4 mile? I , myself do not consider the Rimac a production car, but others do. That comparison would be very cool :)
Nice work bro, thanks I was wondering for a long time. The only car I think is Rob Dhams RX7. Once Rob tweaks the shortcomings, and Rob becomes a better driver is the only car and guy that will do it. I think Ken blocks Hoon, and Rob Dham Rex are the 2 best built cars, EVER.
Yeah, it's a bit annoying when people race highly modified cars and show no times. Thanks for doing the research on the Hoonicorn. I immediately tried it racing against the Rimac Nevera, and Tesla Roadster with the 4680 batteries and structural pack. The Nevara won, but just barely, and the Tesla Roadster was a hair behind the Hoonicorn, and needed the Space-X boosters to beat them both. It shows that nobody is unbeatable, but the Hoonicorn is an outrageously fast monster! Another car that I'm curious about the 1/4 mile times is the Donkmaster. I just saw a video that showed this car beating a Tesla Model S Plaid, but it is a very poor racing example because it shows no times. While it's true that you you can drop a 1200HP+ motor into ANY car and get blinding acceleration (if it doesn't break or crash) but the 1/4 mile contest leaves more questions than answers.
The Rimac will obliterate easily without even trying. Best of all, Rimac requires zero maintenance unlike the junkyard trash Hooni that’ll break down after every high speed race.
It`s a shame they don`t do 1/4 mile or 402mts races with the Hoonicorn, they usualy go for 153 and 306 mts which isn`t enough for us to appreciate its full potential.
Other cool ideas: - Top Fuel Dragster on a street surface - Top Fuel Dragster through the half mile (obviously assuming the engine lasts) - 80s Turbo F1 car with qualifying boost levels - What would it take to run sub 2 sec 0-60 (without rollout) on the street with street compound tires - Wheres the transition between downforce helping acceleration and hurting it
Detroit pot holes ultimately decide vehicle suspensions. Worst roads except for Oklahoma. Oh yeah mid engine corvette also is factory dry sump. Which has more ground clearance? Vette or Mustang? Real world is legal and driveable.
@@MotorMatchup but you have access to footage. its all over youtube. then subtract half a second off the ET on the data to get the time it would run on a prepped surface. the reason why it cant run on a prepped surface is the fact it will immediately snap its driveline because of how lightning fast it delivers its power. plus it wasnt built to run on a prepped surface in the first place. its a purpose built slider and no prep monster(it can race in the no prep small tire class but not big tire. those things book)
@@MotorMatchup plus the engine itself on kill can make 2000 horsepower(there are 6.7L ford small blocks like this that make that power on the same setup). 2000 horsepower going to all 4 wheels in an instant. thats why it cant race on a prepped surface. its literally suicide to its axels and driveline(it has blown its transmission a few times)
I think these number doesn't take into account downforce front and rear, and doesn't take into account the actual hp and torque curve of a twin turbo ethanol engine. Anyone who knows this will tell you it's way faster than what is proposed in this video. Otherwise Ken wouldn't be shy like this as he keeps real numbers under wraps.
I think this is underestimating the Hoonicorn. We just saw the Hoonicorn smash a car which is known to do 7.98 in the quarter mile on a drag strip (1300 HP MR2), on the airport runway they do. So while both cars are probably not going to do under an 8 on this unprepared surface, I would at least expect the Hoonicorn to do under an 8 on a prepared surface.
you mean boostedboiz's MR2? Of course it will win on a none prepped surface with awd. Put it on the prepped track and the MR2 wins...The hoonicorn already lost to an 8's awd RS3...lol
