Love the build series!! Very helpful for the rest of us...... great job!!😎
Thanks for watching and following along, we have a bunch of cool things coming up on the channel. I’m sure you will enjoy all that stuff too :)
This video is pure Quality. Love the bloopers haha,! What's next!!!
A few things lined up for the channel, stay tuned in the next few weeks
Excellent build! We have the same tastes. I just finished my Canadas worst 92 CR250 build. With your help. Even have a 1996 in the garage.
I’m happy that Project 93 was able to help with your build. Stay tuned to the channel we have a few exciting things planed
This was awesome! Among the best build series videos I’ve seen on TH-cam. The shock explosion was epic. Your build came out perfect, very tasteful. I think you should find another old dirt bike to restore I would watch every episode!
Thanks a lot for the support! And for the encouragement. It’s good to know people enjoy what I’m trying to show. Be entertaining and at the same time informative. We have a bunch of bike reviews coming up and a lot of exciting things planed till we find the next build project :)
what a amazing series! Enjoyed every episode of it. The build came out awesome!
Thank you. It’s more satisfying knowing that people are enjoying watching the videos and the build series, knowing you guys are just as excited about the projects as we are. Thanks again for watching and following along
I enjoyed this series, that CR was lucky to have gotten into your hands. Very satisfying to see how well it turned out.
Thanks for the encouragement and the support. This bike was far from an easy build.. I think we did the bike justice bringing it back to life. I’m glad you enjoyed the series. Hopefully you will keep watching all the stuff we have planed in the upcoming weeks. Till we start the next build ;)
Really enjoy your build videos 👍🏻 Cant wait to see the next project!
Stay tuned…. We have a bunch of really cool stuff planed for the channel, along with some new builds and DIY stuff in the upcoming videos. Thanks again for watching and for the support
Loved staying up on project 93! Can’t wait to see the next one!
Thanks a lot for watching and following along, all the support and knowing other people are enjoying the builds really adds to the channel
Great build video’s! Always looked forward to seeing the new video posted on it. Love the CR builds. Keep up the good work!!
Thanks a lot for the Comment and for Following the channel. its always really good to hear Im not the only one that thinks my videos are alright and entertaining
I have a 96 CR250 frame engine cases crankshaft airbox and cylinder if anyone's interested you did a good job on that tank
Depends where you live, but I might be interested lol.
My slide was cracked similar on my 04 tmx04 Mikuni, having trouble getting the float height set now and possibly slow jet showed 32.5 on Rocky mtn but your manual is showing 40 I had a 40 in it when I got it but put the 32.5 in. Bike will crank and idle fine but when in gear and over 1/2 throttle bike will start to bog and foul out. Going to try to adjust my float and drop needle clip down to 2nd position today to see if that helps? Any ideas? Also any advice setting the fuel adjustment screw I didn’t catch it in the video? Thanks and awesome videos!
Are you leaking out of your overflow when the float is not set? I think you are probably running out of fuel with a 32.5, obviously I am being a text mechanic here. I haven’t seen the bike run so it’s hard to fully understand. I would set the bike back up to stock setting, you need that float set properly then you can deal with jetting and clip positions. Check the air screw make sure it’s set back to stock. I can’t remember if it’s 2 turns or what it would be. Your float is probably the biggest problem tho
Love that you did individual stickers on the rear fender, I still love doing that on my bikes instead of getting the fender kits that have come out now. Thanks for the awesome videos.
I’m really happy people are enjoying the build series, and like following along. This project was a pile of work and I think everyone can see what the finished result and effort turn into. Thanks a lot for watching and for the comment.
That’s one beautiful Cr500 AF. They have power wherever you need it, it’s definitely a chore to ride all day. I’m very curious to see how much less vibration the BRC Counter Balanced engines will have. Especially a built Cr500 like your MRE. Great video👍, keep them coming 🔥🔥🔥
Really enjoyed watching this build, good detailed explanation! Love the 1992-1996 CR's
Thanks a lot for following the build.
Thanks for the good explanation on the foot pegs. Actually the CR 250 from 1994 and 1995 don't have that little hole in the frame but do have the big hole where the spring can lock in, got mine now in also
I didn’t know that the 94, and 95 were that much different. Thanks for the info. I guess the foot peg mount is something you don’t really look at on different years.
Not that much different, only the little hole is missing. But it works
The graphics really make it stand out. It's so close now to being finished. 👍
It’s actually finished now.. just filming some footage with it for all you guys to see
Love the series, been here from the start BUT… i really think you should have 93 era side panels! Looks wierd with a mix iom.. 😎
I have them, the big problem with project 93 is that at some point in its life someone installed and drilled holes into the air box.. and I could not come up with a way to fix the existing holes…. Air boxes are really hard to find. If anyone knows where to buy a replacement please let me know. Thanks a lot for the comment and for watching the build progress
@@Dirtbikerepair suspected that…. perhap add a venting hole? has to add at least 1,5hp just by doing that…
Perfection! Awesome job on the build. Can’t wait for the next one!
Thanks a lot for following along with the build and for the comment
Keep kicking ass bro!
It was a pile of work considering the state the bike was in when we got it. Thanks for the comment and for watching of course
@@Dirtbikerepair I feel ya! Those are my favorite bikes!!
Sounds and looks an awesome bike 👍
Thanks for watching and for the comment. I’m glad people are enjoying Canada’s Worst Dirt Bike :)
Been watching since the start of this build just wanted to say nice job she definitely ain’t the worst bike in Canada now😂💯
Thanks a lot for following the build, Project 93 has been more then a little work, but it has definitely transformed over the time we have been working on it. I agree it’s probably not Canada’s Worst bike anymore.
@@Dirtbikerepair just finished a 91 kdx250 build and the owner picked it up today, always a fun time breakin these old 2 strokes in. Keep the great videos coming man🤙🏻
Awesome job
Thanks a lot for watching the build and following along.
Have really been enjoying this project!
Thanks a lot for the comment and for watching.. I guess I’m better at bikes then I am cards ;)
@@Dirtbikerepair lol
The motor sounds tight! Run it through a few heat cycles, then go out and ride it like you stole it to seat the rings. Do you ever go to the track? have you ever raced? Do you race now (vet)? Regardless, the video needs to be caped with a ride video.
We have a few riding videos coming up on the channel. And one featuring Project 93. Thanks for the comment and for following this build along. I don’t race anymore. Did at one point. Still love to ride and am hoping to show more of that on this channel in the upcoming videos
Love the clean retro look. Kept it to par with what it looked like 30 years ago. Don't think any other graphics would make it look as good. The seat pops! Nice work! Keep the videos coming
I'd say the 94 is the best
1994 was a great year, any reason why you say that 94 was the best ?
@Dirtbikerepair I had a 96, my brother had a 94 and I thought his was just a bit faster and handled corners just a bit better. Both were stock with the same Bill's pipe.
@JBlinky67 just good to know why people think one is better. I like that you have some experience on the bike
@Dirtbikerepair Oh for sure. I have since switched to YZ250 and my bro has a 2000 CR. It's stock so it's a bit rigid like the 99, the '01 was a bit more... forgiving. 😆
So, where's the ride video? This build is not complete and anticlimactic until we see the bike ripping!
Still waiting on a few parts to finally come in for Project 93, then we will do a start up video so we can all see it run for the first time together. We will definitely be putting out a video of all the things we went through in this build along with a bunch of footage of the bike hopefully ripping up the trails and track.
40:1 Yamalube synthetic has always treated me right for stock compression motors. Unfortunately here in Arizona we only have 91 pump available so anything with even slightly higher than stock compression I shoot up to a small airport a couple miles from me and mix 100LL Avgas and half pump to bump octane to about 96 and it's affordable. Av right now is about $6 a gal.
I have mixed Avgas with high test here before.. best fuel we can get at a pump here in Ontario Canada is 94. And Avgas is running around $3.00/L (about 5L/G) so it’s definitely more affordable then running race fuel at $10/L Yammalube is really good oil.. I think the important part is running the best fuel oil mix you can afford. Thanks for the comment and for watching as always
Brake fluid works great to remove paint on plastics.
I have never actually tried that.. but I will have to give it a try. Thanks a lot for the comment and for watching. Hopefully you like the rest of the project 93 series
@@Dirtbikerepair yes i like it and I'm quite new to your channel and i like the way you're working and the quality of the videos, thanks. I've spray my ceiling with fork oil once 😄now i know. best regards
Super helpful video just rebuilt my carb yesterday
I’m glad it was able to help! Thanks a lot for the comment and for watching of course
Great video. I run 40:1 never an issue. I have the same oil mixer works great. Keep up the videos
How many ounces or Canada units for 5 gallon of fuel?
That would depend on what you are mixing at for example 5 gallon but for easy math I’m going to use 20L mixed at 40:1 = 20L of fuel 500ml of oil 32:1 = 16L of fuel 500ml of oil That’s really what you can mix in a 5g fuel can
Will you ever do a carb video too like how to get good jetting and not running to lean or rich
We have been trying to plan a video on carb adjustment and setup. How to setup and jet your carb
@@Dirtbikerepairthis would be great if you could also show where to buy jets/ needles and everything else you need. Also if you could show what a lean and rich running bike sounds like
@@smward1126 I will try and get that video up on the channel sooner then later. thanks for the input on what people are looking for, and what kind of videos you guys want to see.
Goo gone for sure will do the trick. Great video
Congrats on getting monetized man! The Keihin PWK 38 air striker is night and day better than that PJ. Same carb I used on my 1985 CR250 resto. The only way I would recommend a knock off carb is if you literally don't care and are broke. They will never perform like genuine, but hey, do what you do. You should get OEM carb clamps, I know Honda didn't put those Ace Hardware hose clamps on there and they were screaming, "somebody cheaped out", lol. You did a really good job on this resto man, good job! Won't be complete though till you post a video of it being ridden.
Thanks for the support, it took a lot of work and a lot of time to get to the 1000 subs. I hope to get a chance to thank everyone for there support from when I started posting content. I have “real” PWK carbs on more then a few of my bikes. Honestly I think this knock off is not a knock off at all all the specs seem exact. I truly believe this carb to be a real carb that didn’t meet the quality control and was rejected. There is a small casting flaw on the inside of the carb above there the slide runs all the factory logos have been removed by machining so I’m curious to see how it works.
@@Dirtbikerepair Well, the carburetor notwithstanding, the clamps you used on it after all the work, TIME and money spent, using hose clamps cheapens the build. Not sure if those are not available but if so you should find them used and restore. Don't get me wrong you've done a great resto and I've watched and enjoyed your videos but you need to correct that. On my 85 CR250, I spent $15 each for OEM fork boot clamps on oem boots because I couldn't live with cheap trashy zip ties, lol. People on forums seeing the final product noticed it immediately. Just sayin....
Xylene cuts the sticker goo nice
I have used xylene before but I never keep it in the shop.. I usually have acetone instead. I might need to do a sticker goo removal video. The goo hole shot lol
GOO-Gone from Canadian tire has always worked for me to remove graphics and stickers off bikes. It eats the residue away but is safe on your paint
I actually have a bottle of it, but I always forget to use it… lol. Thanks for the comment and for the reminder!
iused 0000 ought steelwool to get a nice "polish" finish
I did use 0000 steel wool on the blueing to bring out the finish. I thought I showed that. But if I didn’t, thanks for mentioning it. Steel wool and re applying bluing can definitely bring out the finish, making it look darker as you might personally require.
i always use lots of WD40 to remove the glue
I have actually used WD40 before. It works pretty good on some stickers
Looking good, really coming together!
Watching these videos is making me want to buy an old steel frame for a project bike!! ❤
As long as you don’t start with the Worst dirt bike in Canada…. You can probably do a build like this pretty easy
Another great video! Where did you get the new carburetor? Would it help my 2002? Could you maybe post a link, or give me directions where to look? Keep up the good work, my friend 👍
Wait till we actually run the bike to see if this carb actually works as good as some of the others I have tried. Then I will post more info if any other viewers would like to know more.
for the Honda CR 250 2002-2007 i always use a keihin PWK airstriker (short body) in combination with a V-force membrane
Can't go wrong with nice grips and foot pegs. It's where you are contacting the bike mostly. So you want a great feel.
I agree! Having a good comfortable feel on a bike is really important to me. If anyone is thinking about upgrading things from there stock bike. I highly recommend taking a good look at foot pegs and grips! Thanks a lot for watching, and for the comment
Dont throw that pj carb away id take that carb over a knockoff carb any day of the week. Real pwk air striker carbs are nice i dont feel they worth the money versus a tuned factory carb. I hated lectron carbs and never tried a smart carb they seem nice but not cheap as well. 3M adhesive remover best stuff i ever used would buy it in metal cans still have and use some today. It softens and breaks down that glue adhesive. Still takes time for sure. Ive also used a 3M eraser wheel to take glue and adhesive tape for emblems or trim mouldings off works amazing wont run painted surfsces installs on your electric drill.
Oh the PJ is a good carb, the one that came on Project 93 is obviously ready for an overhaul. I have not tried the 3M adhesive remover. I will definitely grab some and give it a try! Thanks a lot for the comment and for watching the video.
Thanks for the tip on the foot pegs I have been struggling with my IMS on my 1990... I will try with new OEM springs As for the carb, you will know when you take it apart... no numbers on the jets / needle or slide. Probably be ok just swapping over known numbered quality jets.
I hope the OEM springs work for you. As for the carb. It actually all seems real.. just has a small flaw in the casting.. I guess we will see if it runs good with it.
No need to drill the ODI lock on grips. The ends are serrated and will knock out easily with a punch.
I have used the ODI grips in the past, I didn’t notice that they had a setup for knockouts. Good to know! Thanks again for the comment and fir watching
VERY much enjoying this series as I restore my own 95 CR250. Looking forward to more
Thanks a lot for the support! It’s really appreciated. Hopefully you will enjoy a bunch of the upcoming content we have planed for this year. Thanks again for watching
Just got a 93 cr250 and need to do the steering bearings. Luckily mines in better shape than this one but few things need replaced. Looking forward to more videos. Thanks for the tips ✊🏻🔫🇺🇸
Thanks for the support. Always happy to hear people are enjoying the content!
I think that’s the original shifter. They just never went past first gear 😂
Lol. Could be!
Our newly acquired 96 is quite clean, however not that clean ! That said, just a remark, we had the same thoughts, our RH engine covered is also painted and in great shape. This leads me to think that the OE came this way.
I actually saw that you just got a 1996 cr250. I saw it on Instagram I believe. It’s a really nice looking bike…. Was that the one in Bracebrige ? I was thinking of going to grab that one if it is..
