      As long as you don’t start with the Worst dirt bike in Canada…. You can probably do a build like this pretty easy

    Can't go wrong with nice grips and foot pegs.
    It's where you are contacting the bike mostly. So you want a great feel.

      I agree! Having a good comfortable feel on a bike is really important to me. If anyone is thinking about upgrading things from there stock bike. I highly recommend taking a good look at foot pegs and grips!
      Thanks a lot for watching, and for the comment

    Thanks for the tip on the foot pegs I have been struggling with my IMS on my 1990... I will try with new OEM springs
    As for the carb, you will know when you take it apart... no numbers on the jets / needle or slide. Probably be ok just swapping over known numbered quality jets.

    • @Dirtbikerepair
      @Dirtbikerepair  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I hope the OEM springs work for you. As for the carb. It actually all seems real.. just has a small flaw in the casting.. I guess we will see if it runs good with it.

    GOO-Gone from Canadian tire has always worked for me to remove graphics and stickers off bikes. It eats the residue away but is safe on your paint

      I actually have a bottle of it, but I always forget to use it… lol. Thanks for the comment and for the reminder!

    Thanks for the good explanation on the foot pegs. Actually the CR 250 from 1994 and 1995 don't have that little hole in the frame but do have the big hole where the spring can lock in, got mine now in also

      I didn’t know that the 94, and 95 were that much different. Thanks for the info. I guess the foot peg mount is something you don’t really look at on different years.

    • @JimCR1994
      @JimCR1994 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Not that much different, only the little hole is missing. But it works

    Xylene cuts the sticker goo nice

      @Dirtbikerepair  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have used xylene before but I never keep it in the shop.. I usually have acetone instead. I might need to do a sticker goo removal video. The goo hole shot lol

    Congrats on getting monetized man! The Keihin PWK 38 air striker is night and day better than that PJ. Same carb I used on my 1985 CR250 resto. The only way I would recommend a knock off carb is if you literally don't care and are broke. They will never perform like genuine, but hey, do what you do. You should get OEM carb clamps, I know Honda didn't put those Ace Hardware hose clamps on there and they were screaming, "somebody cheaped out", lol. You did a really good job on this resto man, good job! Won't be complete though till you post a video of it being ridden.

      Thanks for the support, it took a lot of work and a lot of time to get to the 1000 subs. I hope to get a chance to thank everyone for there support from when I started posting content. I have “real” PWK carbs on more then a few of my bikes. Honestly I think this knock off is not a knock off at all all the specs seem exact. I truly believe this carb to be a real carb that didn’t meet the quality control and was rejected. There is a small casting flaw on the inside of the carb above there the slide runs all the factory logos have been removed by machining so I’m curious to see how it works.

      @@Dirtbikerepair Well, the carburetor notwithstanding, the clamps you used on it after all the work, TIME and money spent, using hose clamps cheapens the build. Not sure if those are not available but if so you should find them used and restore. Don't get me wrong you've done a great resto and I've watched and enjoyed your videos but you need to correct that. On my 85 CR250, I spent $15 each for OEM fork boot clamps on oem boots because I couldn't live with cheap trashy zip ties, lol. People on forums seeing the final product noticed it immediately. Just sayin....

    Dont throw that pj carb away id take that carb over a knockoff carb any day of the week. Real pwk air striker carbs are nice i dont feel they worth the money versus a tuned factory carb. I hated lectron carbs and never tried a smart carb they seem nice but not cheap as well. 3M adhesive remover best stuff i ever used would buy it in metal cans still have and use some today. It softens and breaks down that glue adhesive. Still takes time for sure. Ive also used a 3M eraser wheel to take glue and adhesive tape for emblems or trim mouldings off works amazing wont run painted surfsces installs on your electric drill.

      Oh the PJ is a good carb, the one that came on Project 93 is obviously ready for an overhaul. I have not tried the 3M adhesive remover. I will definitely grab some and give it a try!
      Thanks a lot for the comment and for watching the video.

    Another great video! Where did you get the new carburetor? Would it help my 2002? Could you maybe post a link, or give me directions where to look? Keep up the good work, my friend 👍

      Wait till we actually run the bike to see if this carb actually works as good as some of the others I have tried. Then I will post more info if any other viewers would like to know more.

      for the Honda CR 250 2002-2007 i always use a keihin PWK airstriker (short body) in combination with a V-force membrane

    No need to drill the ODI lock on grips. The ends are serrated and will knock out easily with a punch.

      @Dirtbikerepair  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have used the ODI grips in the past, I didn’t notice that they had a setup for knockouts. Good to know! Thanks again for the comment and fir watching
