      Well I'm glad I could give you some motivation towards getting your bike back up and running again, the way it should
      Thanks a lot for the comment and for watching the video.
      Note : You might want to read the install guide that comes with the piston you are buying. It might ask you to drill small holes in line with the exhaust bridge to help with lubrication. some brands do ask you to do this (just incase you didn't know, also depends on your bike)

      The biggest thing is looking for play .. and the side to side play has a tolerance. You would have yo check a service manual to know what that is for your bike. I’m sure one day I will get a bike that needs a bottom end. But I dont have one right now to make a video on

    Thank you sir. Very professionally done and the way it should be done, if possible, on anything you maintain. Nice clean bike and nice shop, I'm jealous. I have both 01' cr125 and cr250. A complete frame down rebuild would be fantastic. Any year of any brand to be honest just for technique. If only information like such was this accessible at the time this bike came out. You have a good thing going here. Best of luck on your channel.

      Thanks for the comment, Music is probably the hardest part I have found with making videos. There is only so many songs that you can find that are “free use” I can’t just use an AC/DC song due to all the copyright stuff. I will see what I can do. I appreciate the feedback and the people’s input.

      Thanks a lot for the comment, and that's a really good idea for a video! I will try to get a video of what i look at when buying a used bike asap.
      basically whether you are buying a bike or just riding a bike... there is a bunch of things you should look at that are really similar. parts ware out and things are broken on almost every bike i look at to buy. I have a before you go riding overview that might hold you over till i can get the video you want finished

    Your rubber gasket is upside down. There is a notch in the rubber that goes up for the power valve cover.

    • @Dirtbikerepair
      @Dirtbikerepair  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the comment. I will look into that. I’m pretty sure it only seals if you fit it in one way. But definitely will double check. Thanks for noticing if I did mess it up. It’s possible

    • @whiskeythrottle2266
      @whiskeythrottle2266 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's what I'm saying. It only goes in one way, directional. You have it upside down.

  • @nicks2wheelchannel920
    @nicks2wheelchannel920 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    great video, I have a question about the exhaust bridge on the cylinder and the area that the piston make contact. I thought that you had to drill oiling holes in the piston to help lubricate the exhaust bridge. Or does the Honda not require it to done

    • @Dirtbikerepair
      @Dirtbikerepair  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is a lot of talk about drilling holes.. I personally have never drilled holes in a OEM piston. The way I see it is like this.... Honda is a multi million dollar company, they spend a lot of money on research to build the best bike they can. If they wanted holes in the piston they would put them there. Some people do like to put holes in pistons trying to lubricate the exhaust bridge. If I was using an aftermarket piston that was not cast.. maybe. I would see what the piston manufacturer recommends. and if the company that makes the piston says it needs holes i would add them
      I know on my CR500 I have the piston drilled and its a Wiseco piston. in my 2001 cr250 I do not, its a Vetex Piston.

  • @SoCalMisfit712

    So screwed up you buy a bike and 8 hrs later it’s sitting on a bench getting a new top end. Especially the prices these bikes are fetching when they are supposedly all rebuilt. Had the same stuff with my 06 I just bought. Not a top end but carb slide and other miscellaneous stuff.

    • @Dirtbikerepair
      @Dirtbikerepair  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know with the price that the "Classic bikes" are reaching it diffidently can be frustrating, especially if it is not what it seems... Hopefully I can show people that you can make an old bike more then awesome with my builds, and show people what to look for and expect when buying used bikes..
      If a person tells me that the bike has a new Top End... I'm always a bit scared of what that means... sometimes people might simply change a piston, but really the bike might have needed a Cylinder..
