This large boomslang was hiding in a large tree after crossing a busy road. The home owners spotted the snake and immediately contacted our rapid response team! The snake was safely removed and relocated.

    Zebra Snake also known as Zebra Cobra, Zebra Spitting Cobra or Western Barred Spitting Cobra. It often mistaken with Ringkhals by its colors and patterns.

    I thought Anchieta's didn't grow longer than 1,2. That's what a field guide I have says.

    Brilliant, and it's not even considering the dilution factor when using it "open air" in your backyard and not in such a small box. But I have missed a bit at the end: a summary of the results, final feedback from the Pro explaining the results, and why you had expected this specific outcome. It would have made the video much more entertaining for the audience as well as a bit more scientific. Liked the fact that you did use a blind control at the beginning :-) Well done buddy ......

      Thanks for the positive feedback. We will probably be doing another video without the box. Would be good to have two series of tests. I will explain in a bit more detail if we film the next video.

    Try calling it a Zebra Cobra in the title instead of Zebra Snake. It might help with more subs

      Snake didn’t mean any harm. Usually they just crawl away. It didn’t seem to show aggression. It just didn’t want to be caught. Anyway, keep educating the people. I’ve just learned that there is a zebra snake species. Thank you.

    encountered one in academia few days ago while hiking[behind UNAM main campus].... raised its head when i approached luckily for me it ran as soon as i stopped and backed away..researched soon as i got home.. my ignorant ass didnt know cobras existed in namibia these were actually common here...yeah wont be hiking for a while

      Yeah we have about 6 cobra species in Nambia of which 4 are able to spit. In the Windhoek area there are two cobra species. The area of Academia has seen an in crease in conflict especially around UNAM due to the new road and the new development (extension 1)

    Nice little Naja nigricincta. I'm wondering how far a hatchling like this can spit. I've heard that adult ones have a spit range of up to 3 meters and aim very precisely. But I have no information about the range of hatchlings.

    Was I mistaken but was that mamba brown in color? Do they appear brown in Namibia?

      Indeed it was. I have never seen an individual this brown in the 15 years that I have been removing snakes around the city. Interestingly mambas here are much darker than the ones in SA and from time to time we find pitch black individuals.
