Hi Jason. I'm going to be installing my 31mm Antlia LRGB and my question is: Does it matter which side you put them on the wheel? I'd appreciate your comments please. Clear skies!
Hi Jason! Well, I installed the RGB filters in the following way: the side where the filter color is clearly visible faces the camera. Am I correct? I installed the L regardless of the side. I would appreciate your comments, please, since this weekend I am going to test them in B2 skies and it would be better to have them installed correctly. Thanks and clear skies!
that's sounds correct, the Luminance makes no difference from what I can tell.
@@AZ4Runner Thanks Jason! CS
How does one chose between Schmidt-cassegrain and RC? Or why would you chose either over a newt since it has a smaller center obstruction?
Good question, a SCT has a corrector plate that can dew up for one, RC's and Newt do not. Although the RC has a larger secondary obstruction it has pair hyperbolic mirrors thus eliminating the need for a Coma corrector like a newt would. another thing to consider would be the Focal length and focal ratio. Another thing about the RC is that it is made specifically for Astrophotography unlike the SCTs and Newts which are also used visually. The one thing that steered me to the RC over a newt was the position of the focuser and the ability to balance easier. Thanks for watching.
I used to have a tropical tank some years back. Very nice to watch !
sometime I fall asleep watching. very peaceful
Nice! I have a few friends that grow coral.
it is as challenging as Astro
Awesome bet it’s hard work though
it is pretty challenging, but advances in the hobby have made it easier.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
thanks 😍

Great shot buddy. I actually saw this too while standing on my roof here in Tucson . Take care .💯👍
very cool to see for sure!!
Way cool, Jason
Thanks Pat!
Never gets old! Especially when the timing is right and you get to see the jellyfish.
for sure!
That was pretty cool. I was able to watch it with my binoculars from my yard until it was hidden by the clouds. But fun while it lasted. Nice video. Cs
we were fortunate, not many clouds during launch. CS
awesome video. Thanks for sharing.. I captured some footage as well. I'm also in Yuma but your footage is much better... there's a non space x launch on the 26th at 9pm. curious to see the difference from that and space x
Thanks.. I'm gonna try and get that one too with a telephoto lens maybe!
Nice mate👍
Thanks Simon!
Awesome mate impressive to watch
Thanks Tich!
Thanks. 👍🏻🚀
Thanks for taking the time and watching Ron!
Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thanks for watching!
That looked awesome mate
Thanks Ollie!
Great take! I live in metro Phoenix and would love to watch and record those launches. I always find out about them after the fact. Is there a site where I can find their schedule for my location? Thanks.
spaceflightnow.com/launch-schedule/ Just focus on the ones launching from Vandenberg.
@@AZ4Runner Hi Jason. If it is not too much trouble, could you please share how you captured the video. Cell phone, DSLR? Settings? Tripod? Thanks!
This was with with my Cell Phone no tripod. Samsung S22+ default video settings.
@@AZ4Runner Thanks again Jason! By the way, I believe that there’s another one scheduled for tonight at 9:00 pm.
yes, I'm gonna try and get a close up with my zoom lens.. hopefully it tracks like the others.
They still can't break it
😀
Very cool mate I remember coming home from work one night & seeing a satellite launch, looked very weird until someone commented on what it were.
Thanks Tich, hoping all goes well with you. CS
Great capture Jason👍
Thanks Simon!!
Nice catch. Hope you're doing well. It's starting to get hot at night, but you know that. CS. CATCH YOU LATER.
Yes Doing well Ray. Can't wait for September.
Me either. Cs
Cool capture Jason
Thanks Logan
As I recall Betty's Kitchen was a restaurant in this area that burned down years ago. The name has stuck.
I've been here since 86 and did not know that, but it makes sense.
That was cool!
Got ate by mosquitoes but yeah!
@@AZ4Runner lol! Dang mosquitoes.
Very cool! Thank you sir.
Thank you!
I definitely regret not buying this or the 16" setup. I'm quite sad to see Orion not keep this product line going. It was a handsome scope and its GOTO was good for non-astrophotography (have the 10" GOTO dob that I "mated" with the Starsense mount).
I totally agree! I wanted to go with the 16" but I would have needed a step ladder to get to the eyepiece and that is why I got the 14", the goto is superb and never fails once aligned. I do wish Orion kept the line going. Looks like they are trimming their inventory down a bit. very sad indeed,
I'm glad you got to capture the Aurora last Friday night bud.
It was pretty cool!
Nice one pal.
thanks Ollie!
Why are you using a diagonal? 🤔
good eye.. I was doing visual and didn't take it off. I was lazy.
@@AZ4Runner Looks smaller than 150mm, maybe 90-102?
it is a 150 Mak-Cas if that is what u r referencing. I love the scope.. great for planetary both for Astropbotography and visual.
Lucky you I can't see crap in phoenix
that is too bad. We didn't get much but just enuff.
Very nice. I'm glad to see you caught it.
Did you get to see it Ray?
No I missed it. I might try again tonight.
It was great here in Michigan, I was able to see overhead aurora and color for the first time, I’m hoping to see more tonight.
That is so cool Brody! hoping to see more tonight as well.
I'm at 53 north. I was photographing south of my house to capture images. And WOW!!
53 North? musta a been a amazing show!
@@AZ4Runner horizon to horizon and fully overhead.
Beautifully captured. Although I must say: This time it was a clear advantage to be farther north (Switzerland is at about 47 degrees). The spectacle was clearly visible with your naked eyes. But on camera it was just breathtaking, lasting at least for an hour.
47 degrees wow, I am super jealous!
Great capture Jason. It was crazy bright right up here in Auckland too.
Awesome Logan.. Hopefully I'm more prepared tonight fingers crossed.
Awesome! I was capturing a wide field view of M81 area last night and was noticing red noise in several images. I too am at 32N.
mee too Pat.. I was capturing m81 and 82 with my redcat and 2600. my LP gradient was not right.. and this must be why. CS
Thanks for that! I live in Yuma also and saw a little of it. Good job!
Think we'll get another show tonight? I might head up north a bit to get a better vantage point if so.
@@AZ4Runner Looking at the aurora map from services.swpc.noaa.gov/images/aurora-forecast-northern-hemisphere.jpg for tonight it looks like there is a possibility. North is good!
@@AZ4Runner Worth trying!
Thanks.
Wow mate that's awesome well done for catching them.
Think you guys are gonna get a second go at it? I hope so. CS
Thanks mate fingers crossed
