Hi Jason, I've made it home and am gradually getting back into the swing of things on social media. Meeting with you and Isaac was truly a wonderful experience. The casual conversations felt like catching up with old friends. Not to mention the adrenaline rush while driving in the desert at 65 mph :) I did have to work out a few bugs, note to myself - don't bring untested equipment to a remote site. Overall, it was a fantastic trip, and I really appreciate the invitation. Please keep sharing those amazing videos!
I really enjoyed you coming down and imaging with us. Glad you had a good time and so glad you got the second night as well. Was I really going that fast? I know we had to get you onsite to setup, so I was rushing a bit. Hope to have you visit again if your ever down here again. Next time I'll make some Carne Asada for sure!
Wow! The quality of data you got is incredible!😮Heck, even the OIII and SIII stacks look impressive...and the H-alpha is INSANE!😮Well done with your first set of exposures with NINA, and great work processing it all to produce a lovely SHO image Jason!👍👍 Well, it looks like LOLA is about to be dumped, and NINA will be your new flame (nebula).😉Enjoy working out the kinks with NINA on every clear night in the winter!😉[...nudge, nudge...wink wink...]🤣
Hi Jason, I got the chills watching your video during that Meridian flip portion. However, the Sulfur data came out great. The final SHO looks great as well. As I mentioned in Isaac's video, I love those wide-field-of-view images. I will be looking forward to the comparison video of the same target in the different Bortle regions.
Excellent video Jason, watched it from end to end😀 Loved the time lapses, especially the cool effects Timelapse at the end! Wow, that Ha was something else, no wonder you didn’t need ABE, DBE, Gradient Ext!! Super image, that’s exactly gonna be my next target (when the clouds go, 2 weeks of rain!) can’t believe you cheated on Lola🤣 Great job mate, I’m in the same boat, now learning Nina! Vid hopefully coming soon! Great image! Clear skies mate👍
I'm an infant with NINA also Jason....LOL....APT is Tried and True....I got NINA Working with my T6 setup well, doesn't like my older Camera setups though....So I'm still running APT on those....Can't wait to see The Data Comparison.....Great Images....Love the Timelapses...I am Working Insane hours right now, Not a lot of time for Imaging....I'm stealing imaging time off the Patio, just get my Fix.....I hope to Return to Alpha Scorpii after the Xmas season and it quiets down at work.....Miss you and Issac .....Miss the Zen of The Universe.....Clear Skies Bro!
Wow, again, as always. Love your atmosphere at the spot and your time lapses are stunning. It's exactly astrophotography I imagine. Hopefully you'll find some self-warming clothes for cold desert nights?
Excellent image and work Jason. That last time-lapse with the star trails was very cool and unique. I went to TDS last weekend and the winds ruined the second half of the night. That was two months in a row. If you can dial back on the Santa Ana winds coming my way please. ; )
Beautiful final image! Inspiring me to shoot some wide-field of the same area. I rarely get over to that part of the state (I live on the East side of Phoenix) but it looks like you have a great site to shoot from! Will be interested to see your comparison in the next video.
Great video Jason - man those skies are amazing. Love the image at the end… so much nebulosity!! Woohoo, good to see you going on some dates with NINA. CS
Hey nice work Jason those really looked like they came out well with those insane skies pal. Great job getting started with NINA mate, once you try the advanced sequencer its hard to go back. APT is still good software though so I understand hard to leave behind. 👍
Images look great. I wish I could go to a dark sky one day, it just too far for me. Question, what is the yellow line above the red/blue line in phd2? I never get that with my AM5 guiding.
so I usually click the "trendlines" box when I run my guiding. In addition, If you go into the settings for your graph you will see "Star SNR", check that to get the line above the red/blue lines. This is good to see if your star SNR changes because of clouds, etc.. I keep it up to watch this because usually when the SNR goes down, guiding gets worse. I hope that helps. if not reach out to me through my E-mail on my YT page. CS
Holy crap mate the dust in that image is insane a dark sky does make all the difference in comparison with suburban skies. Ah a slow transition to NINA I were an APT user for years but now I've found NINA there's no turning back although I just stick with the Legacy sequencer as I'm a simple guy lol. Clear skies
I'm finding the Stack is so much cleaner and with a bit more detail from darks skies. you can really push the data during processing. The legacy sequencer is doing what I need at the moment, so I might just stay there. CS
I have a red acrylic screen that keeps everything dim and dark. the screen record doesn't show the red. I did play around with the color schemes but I prefer white with the red acrylic.. it works.
we've seen people driving around more frequently in ATV and offroad buggies. Not sure what they are doing out there and likewise us to them. Also chupacabras, coyotes, and rabid saquatches!

Ima try and get very cozy with NINA. I'll keep LOLA around for awhile. The O3 was super easy to process shooting it near zenith was a very good idea.

can wait to see your image! NINA is pretty sweet, hate leaving LOLA though.

I love going out there for sure. I didn't anticipate that it was going to get as cold as it did. I'll be prepared next time for sure! CS

I'll do the wind dance for ya. I'm gonna have to get up there sometime. CS
Nice job on the image. Good to see you are trying NINA out. I like it. Looking forward to seeing the comparison video on the two locations.
will be next to come out. Should be interesting. CS
Enjoyed the video, Jason. Love how it turned out.
Thanks Miguel, glad you enjoyed everything. CS

Thanks LeoLibbey! you'll have to come visit us sometimes. got plenty of room out there. CS

NINA and I are still splitting the bill until I get a little better acquainted with her. It is only fair to LOLA!

advanced sequencer is a whole northern cup of tea. baby steps. 😄
The advanced sequencer in NINA is a must have for me, I run 3 rigs at once it’s pretty much set it and forget it.
yes, the advanced sequencer is next for me to learn.

19:00 you should really change that interface to something darker 😮 at 2:30 am that white screen must have been a real torture...

Guns?? Are you so afraid of international guests??🤔
Not afraid of international guests at all. but definitely have what I need to protect everyone that comes out to Alpha Scorpii!
What could be the danger there?
