    Thanks for this Jason. Really enjoy comparisons on the effects of light pollution to images. Cheers.

      We will have to see. I'm hoping that the dark site will produce with less integration time.

    Hi Jason. This sounds like an interesting experiment! 👍Incredible difference with that OIII data of the Veil Nebula! 👍

      @@AZ4Runner I am sure that you'll have 10x the number of clear nights than I get! lol

    nice project. I ll be waiting to see the results. BTW I have same dome and added myself the PTZ and have more time to image when moving the dome. I wish I could show you my pics so you can try to make your own. I run 2 mounts same time inside LOL

    Hi Jason, that sounds like a plan mate😀 Hope it all works out with the weather! Interested to know what target you’ll be going for! That’s some nice looking Oiii Jason! Who can it be?? Is Glenn coming over 🤣🤣 Clear skies!

      If all goes to plan.. might be international.....

    Really interested to see the results! I'm in Bortle 8/9 in Glendale and often think it's a waste of time trying to capture images from my backyard. Usually have to go to Alamo Lake, and the difference is astonishing. Will be good to see data you collect.

    • @AZ4Runner
      @AZ4Runner  ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll have to come down sometime. not too far from Glendale. CS

      if you go 210 west 30 min you can have decent sky . sometimes I go there with friends to see meteorite showers. better of course Joshua tree , Amboy crater, and death valley.

      we'll have to see if it all works out. I was blown away with the O3 diff.

    I'd love to see what the differences are. I primarily shoot from my backyard and have discovered that I need at least 12 hours of integration time to make a target worth while to shoot. I assume that is because of my light polluted bortle 8/9 skies. I am amazed that I can get anything at all, but it does leave me with just being able to shoot mono and not color from my backyard. It will be very interesting to see what your comparison looks like! CS.

    • @AZ4Runner
      @AZ4Runner  ปีที่แล้ว

      it will be interesting for sure.

    I have little doubt that the result from your dark site with less total exposure time will far exceed the result with longer integration at the higher Bortle location, the differences are stark. You can try to make up some of the difference using very fast optics and narrowband filters help with contrast. Good luck!

      my thought exactly. but I gotta know for myself.

    One storm after another here in the UK so not much imaging time. The dark sky data is without doubt better but really not too bad from your home location.

    • @AZ4Runner
      @AZ4Runner  ปีที่แล้ว

      that is horrible..... I hope you get some clear skies!

    I would be very interested to see what your results are! I have considered doing that for a target, but nothing in the plans right now. Good luck and looking forward to see what you get! CS.

    Hey Jason, I did a comparison of bortle 9 to bortle 4 with just the just one channel. I'd like to see how yours turns out doing the whole image. I think a couple of us California guys are planning a trip out to Alpha Scorpii. Maybe December or January new moon.

    • @AZ4Runner
      @AZ4Runner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I saw that Patrick. after looking the O3 difference, I'm wanna see how good it can be.

      @@AZ4Runner I'm guessing better image with less time, and easier to process.
