    Awesome images Jason, especially the dark shark. Dark nebulae are had to process and you've done and excellent job.
    On a different note, I've never heard an astrophotographer sound so excited to see the moon...WTH! And I know you weren't going to be cooking a high class bbq this time but eating live bugs is a bit of a drop in standards isn't it? And is that a thing you can get in America where, if you forget something, a pop up reminder bubble appears before your eyes... I need one of those! 😂🤣
    Will be sad to have to wait for a few months before we get to see Alpha Scorpii again but I'm sure there will be more videos coming from your home observatory to look forward to. Clear skies.

    • @AZ4Runner
      @AZ4Runner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isaac and I were having a discussion on whether the moon would be visible or not. It was only at 1%. Isaac won! Next time I'm gonna try and keep my mouth closed to keep out the crunchy critters. Normally my pop up bubbles are empty, luckily this bubble had something in it. CS

    Hey Jason,
    Great video as always , I was looking on Stellarium at Barbados skies in December to see I could image LDN1235, The dark shark🦈 , I don't know if can image as it comes into view about sunset then goes below the horizon , we'll see.
    I hope you have some clear skies my friend 😊

    Is alpha scorpii an invite only location? Im in az and relatively new to eaa and astrophotography and just getting familiar with finding good viewing sites outside of thw city bortle 7-8+ skies.
    Ive had decent luck just in my yard but am on the hunt for some darker skies.

      Thanks for watching. Alpha Scorpii is not an invite only location.. The location now pops up on Google maps, Just search Alpha Scorpii, AZ. All I ask is that you take out what you bring in. We usually go out close to or at new moon but probably won't be out until the fall when temps cool off a bit. Send me an e-mail vial me YT e-mail link and let you know the next time we plan on going or you can go out on your own.. I might set up a notebook out there for ppl to sign when they come out. CS

    Hi Jason,
    Another fine video from Alpha Scorpii. With temperatures that high, what is your limit on cooling the camera sensors? That Lagoon Nebula is totally awesome! I am not familiar with the Shark Nebula but what you presented looked clean and vivid. At my location, due to my neighbor's growing trees, I am losing the opportunity to get anything in the south below elevation of 20 degrees, which includes the Lagoon and Trifid. I can only see them for about 90 minutes a night. Oh, and the bug ingestion ... been there, done that, own a box of T-Shirts with our Savannah sand gnats. As always, I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. Say hi to Isaac for me.

    • @AZ4Runner
      @AZ4Runner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Pat! With the smaller camera diameters of the 294MM (78mm) and the Orion G26C (80mm), I was able to cool down to -10C at about 60%. If I was using the 2600MM (90mm) with the larger diameter, I would be lucky to get down to -5C. I tried shooting the Dark Shark from home with lackluster results. hopefully our summer will be swift so I can get back to imaging in the fall. CS

    I use a polemaster with Sharp Cap for PA, It's a lot easiers and quicker than the PM software, Wonder if that orion will be reconized in sharp cap like the polemaster is. might be worth a try.

      yes, there were ton out that night.. Right now the Gila River is flowing to the North, I suspect that is where they came from. Plenty of standing water for reproduction out there right now.

      @AZ4Runner  ปีที่แล้ว

      I live in Yuma, which is about 5 hours from Flagstaff and 4 hours from Tuscon. This is my land and is only 1 hour from my house. Skies are darker than from home and it is a good getaway. Living in Yuma, we are kinda use to dust and dirt.😁
